The previous two reviews does this magnificent golf course no justice - surely you can't truthfully judge its merit based on the breakfast or buffet it serves? Marine Drive is designed by A.V. Macan and has been known as the home of Champions. It is a course to be challenged upon because you will really have to focus your shots as the fairways are narrow and the greens are fast - all thanks to its constant and meticulous course manicure. There are always a lot of tournaments within the club and the club encourages its members, and especially the Juniors to participate in cross-club and national tournaments. I always feel the pressure when the Juniors are whipping their shots that make beautiful sounds when the ball slice the air...juxtaposed with my Micky-mouse and the occasional "topping the ball" shots. Even if you are a non-member you still have the opportunity to enjoy this course, so long as you are invited by a member as a guest. And regardless how good or bad you are, just remember this course can humble the strongest player and so enjoy the time out and grab a glass of wine on the patio after. Cheerio!

Whally the manager is very helpful and the place does have really good pricing or if you have special request, they will be able to accomodate. Like I said I had many Christmas here and every year the decoration looks pretty much the same. I didn't go to my firm Christmas this year here. Food has always been pretty decent and good. One bad thing. Their rules is no cellphone in the club house but again no one really follow it. Good place to host party and events.

As soon I walked into the pro shop I was met with a disapproving gaze from Phil Kitsch, one of the golf "pros" at this mediocre course. He was such an A hole the entire time I was talking to him and paying my green fees. He is a typical wannabe, he failed at golf so his treats patrons of this course like they're beneath him to make himself feel better. Other then the course not being good, He alone is reason enough to never waste your money there. The course itself isn't well kept and the refreshments cart lady wasn't even on the course on a Sat! Please Please let them either change their ways or let them fail.

If you wanna go practice then go somewhere else there are really good facilities around but his is not one of them for practicing. However, the golf course itself is really nice. Great greens and heavily tree lined fairways ........It's of my favourite courses in the lower mainland. Some of the best staff as well, friendly, outgoing, professional. If they could just put a couple of dollars into the driving range, this would be a definite five star for me. Note-Some newer golfers find it tough, but if you are a seasond golfer you should enjoy this course. Well maintained but know there are lots of redwood trees so heads up. I would recommend using a cart as there are a couple of places the uphill walk can be draining if you are in the heat for too long. I look forward to golfing here again.

Our…read moregroup takes annual golf trips across BC, and we understand that each course has its own policies -- but the management at King Links seems to go out of their way to be unnecessarily rude and aggressive. Right from the start, one of our group members was yelled at for briefly driving his golf cart to load up our bags from the car. Instead of calmly informing us of the course policy, the staff chose to escalate the situation with hostility. A simple "Hey, carts aren't allowed there" would have done the trick -- like any reasonable course staff would do. We also had an 11-year-old junior golfer with us -- an experienced and respectful kid who had played with us at another course the day before with no issue. But at King Links, we were repeatedly told "no kids allowed," despite there being no mention of this anywhere on their website. They even went as far as to tell him he couldn't practice putting and to "wait in the car." Really? That's how you treat young golfers and future players? The course itself is poorly maintained, and the pace of play is made worse by a hyper-aggressive marshal zipping around trying to rush players -- even when we had just started our round. After reading other reviews, it's clear this isn't an isolated experience. Whether it's a power trip or something else entirely, the attitude of the management team is unacceptable. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who values respectful treatment and a relaxed golf experience.

Management at Swaneset had committed to accommodate 104 golfers (event minimum) and changed the requirements 8 days out from the event. Swaneset increased the agreed upon mandate from 104 golfers to 144 golfers on short notice causing the event to be cancelled and refused to accommodate the tournament, with knowledge of the cause that was being supported. This is extremely unprofessional behavior from a course and frankly is morally unsound. This is a very unfortunate result for what was planned to be a great day spent to support a worthy cause.

Swaneset has multiple wedding venues within the premises but we chose the Upstairs Ballroom and we absolutely loved it. We worked with both Holly and Michelle who were amazing and patient throughout the entire process. The food was amazing too, my only regret was not getting to eat more throughout the evening.

The prices were decent and the portions were big. So , why the low score? We ordered a few different items. Fish and chips - good size, the fries were delicious (crispy and fresh), the batter was a bit thick on the fish but more or less pretty good. Garlic lemon prawns - huge prawns, loaded with cheese and they give you lots of bread to dip in the sauce. My mom loved this dish. Fully loaded prime rib burger - this was the disappointment. The burger came and I ordered a beautiful side salad. I noticed there was no bacon or mushroom in it after lifting up the bun. So I told the waitress. She saw the same thing as I so she took it back to the kitchen. She came out with the same burger and told me the kitchen told her the bacon and mushrooms were under the patty (this was the first one heard of this) I lifted up the patty and saw half a piece of bacon and 1.5 small slices of mushrooms sunk into the bottom bun . 1.5 pieces of mushroom.. ... Should've called this the hardly-loaded burger. The server saw how disappointed I was and asked if I wanted to have more toppings added to it. I said yes and she kindly went back and got some more bacon and mushrooms added. It came back looking a bit more presentable. I wish I had gotten a photo but I was too shocked by the lack of toppings. That's not something I would be proud to serve to a customer. Overall, I might come back for some other items or come back during the weekday for 20% off but I probably won't get that burger again.
