Musqueam Golf Course, Vancouver, BC
Crystal H.

*sigh* Oh golf! What better way to spend a sunny, late afternoon or early evening than at the driving range, hitting balls without the consequence of them going into the trees or some water hazard? I love it here - it's usually quiet, it's green and it's owned and operated by the Musqueam Band along with Gino Odjick. The range and course has memberships that give you a reduced price on rounds and lower prices on buckets of balls. Bonus - you get the $30 (ish) fee back in balls or a green fee, so you can't really loose. Unless you're me, and you haven't been for quite a long time and the loosing comes in missing the ball while swinging, hooking it or feeling like you're about to smack the back of your head with your driver.

Very nice course and driving range. Food in the cafeteria is very good too - home made, healthy and delicious.

Coming to Vancouver to experience the city and golf, we knew we had to try out one of the various…read morepitch and putt courses, and this one was a lot of fun. What's cool about this spot is that is a low risk way to try out some golf. The longest hole is 100 yards, with most being 75 or less. There were a ton of beginners and first timers playing so it's definitely not a place where pace of play is a priority. There's no tee time required, just walk up and get in line on the first tee. For Americans, the cost for 2 people to play was around $19 for $18 holes. Every tee box has a mat that you hit off of to start reach hole. The greens aren't great, so not the best place to practice putting. When we visited, there were single golfers, groups of 8, and everything in between. Most people dropped off after 9 holes, so we played the second 9 pretty quick. Overall, it's a fun course to get some swings in and have some beers on the course. Not the best to practice putting but a great spot to practice wedges. Don't know if I'd play again but I had a really good time regardless.

That day was my first visit here. I never knew the city had a pitch and putt course. It's quite…read morewell maintained. The greens are properly cut and great for putting. There are some geese around that might get aggressive, so be careful. You can borrow golf clubs from the staff, and they also sell refreshments.

Well, unless another wedding invite graces my mail box, there's no way I could get in. To get on the waiting list for membership is $25k on it's own. Plus, I don't wear my pants up at my armpits or take dinner before 5pm. The view is gorgeous. You can see the Grouse Grind and Vancouver from the expansive patio that faces the course. The greens look like they're kept in immaculate form. (I wonder if there's a wee little garden gnome out there in the early morning hours grooming them with a pair of shears! What else would they do with all those annual dues?) The staff is friendly, professional and on top of their game. They were awesome about bringing vegetarian dishes to the lone vegetarian at our table and kept the drinks coming! The food was decent. It's exactly what you'd expect at a golf course, although, as I mentioned, I was there for a wedding, so we possibly were privy to an exclusive menu - Shrimp Cocktail? Lobster thermidor? Dim sum dumplings as appetizers? Don't mind if I do!

The course itself was a lot of fun and the greens were in pretty good shape! The par 5s are reachable in 2, the par 3s aren't super tough, and the course as whole offers challenges for both good and beginner golfers. When we went, they were only allowing golf carts on the first 9 holes, and walking only on the back (due to construction) so we decided to get a push cart for the entire round. This was a great decision. The course is flatter without a ton of elevation, so it was a fairly easy course to walk. Getting a tee time, you can do so through their online portal. They charge a booking fee to book ahead of time, but it's worth it. We waited until the week before and the only available tee times were early morning or late late afternoon. If this is a course you want to play, definitely book as far ahead as possible.

Ive played at the course since the 90s and they have the same balls they did when I first started playing here. They fly sporadically and I lose about 30 yards on my pitching wedge. I can't believe how bad the balls are. Don't pay the money, it's not worth it
