    Golfing outfit

Worst experience of golfing ever. The dress code says women's athletic tops are allowed, which I wore. It was a lulu lemon tank top with a built in sports bra. Nowhere does it say you cannot wear a tank top. However, it does say men CAN NOT wear tshirts without a collar which my boyfriend did wear and they said nothing about it. So much for dress code... I was singled out and shamed by Don for showing my shoulders in 29 degree weather. They made me wear a sweater and I was dying of heat. I saw another girl wearing a tank top with mid drift showing and no one told her to change. When I asked for my money back they refused. I left crying and I'm new to golf so it turned me away from the sport all together. When we were playing the marshal followed me around to make sure I was wearing the sweater. I took it off and wrapped it over my shoulders and tied it in the front and the man raced over in the golf cart and yelled that I was "told to keep it on": even though it was covering my shoulders. There was also a 7 year old driving a golf cart by himself and no one said anything about that. I'm curious about the morals of the owners and as to who is allowing this blatant sexism. I've attached a photo of my outfit.

Why am I giving this place 4 stars instead of the low reviews the other three wrote here before me? Because I realize that if you can afford the time and money to play golf and you have the mindset to be able to enjoy a round regardless of the conditions. Then you can also enjoy life. I like to play here in the evenings. Not as busy on the weekday twilight hours and it doesn't matter if I finish a round or skip a hole or not when there's lots of space to play in. I enjoy just walking the course playing my shots and enjoy each hole one at a time. For me, staff have always been pleasant here. Calling in to book a tee time has never been a problem on a weekday or evening. When I can I try to enjoy the restaurant here. Note, if it's not a busy night the restaurant will close early. What I like about here is that it's casual. And I love the challenge of playing below the treeline and trying to keep it under the wind on a windy day. Love the sand traps and those perfect bunker shots that are high and soft that hit the green and touch the flag pole. Love walking the course. Playing "ready golf". Bring good company and its even better.

Great golf course in Richmond. Friendly staff. Not too far from Vancouver and less busy than the city courses.

This guy has been a problem at the driving range for a long time. In the past I've seen him verbally abuse other customers by yelling at them and cursing them. This time the abuse escalated to physical level!!! I can't believe how this has not been addressed by management team!!! I do not feel safe at all at this driving range, let alone enjoying golf. I was lucky that he missed and threw the device at my golf bag instead, which was literally 3 inches from where I was standing. Will consider taking legal actions.

They have a generous pitch and putting areas (much better than Savage Creek) that are free for the general public to use. The only one thing i do not like is their policy of if you buy a token or two token card it has to be used on the same day. There should be the flexibility to use that at any time. This comes down to micromanaging the finances & makes the owners look a little cheap. Prices for their 12 token or 72 token cards are little more pricey than Savage Creek's but still reasonable. Also it's nice they have a Pro shop at this facility to buy equipment or regrip clubs.

The previous two reviews does this magnificent golf course no justice - surely you can't truthfully judge its merit based on the breakfast or buffet it serves? Marine Drive is designed by A.V. Macan and has been known as the home of Champions. It is a course to be challenged upon because you will really have to focus your shots as the fairways are narrow and the greens are fast - all thanks to its constant and meticulous course manicure. There are always a lot of tournaments within the club and the club encourages its members, and especially the Juniors to participate in cross-club and national tournaments. I always feel the pressure when the Juniors are whipping their shots that make beautiful sounds when the ball slice the air...juxtaposed with my Micky-mouse and the occasional "topping the ball" shots. Even if you are a non-member you still have the opportunity to enjoy this course, so long as you are invited by a member as a guest. And regardless how good or bad you are, just remember this course can humble the strongest player and so enjoy the time out and grab a glass of wine on the patio after. Cheerio!

As well, I have had many Christmas party and other events here before. Whally the manager is very helpful and the place does have really good pricing or if you have special request, they will be able to accomodate. Like I said I had many Christmas here and every year the decoration looks pretty much the same. I didn't go to my firm Christmas this year here. Food has always been pretty decent and good. One bad thing. Their rules is no cellphone in the club house but again no one really follow it. Good place to host party and events.
