The last time I picked up a golf club was as a teenager playing pitch and putt out at Central Park…read morein Burnaby. I always enjoyed it. Somehow I never got into golf and so it had been decades before I tried it again. We didn't have time for the pitch and putt here so we went to the driving range. This was my first time at the driving range and the experience was good. Frustrating but good. Frustrating only because I was so bad with connecting with the balls. Service at the golf shop was great. Friendly staff. Social distancing protocols were in place. Rented the club and got a bucket of balls. Think I will get 3 buckets in future. Pick up the bucket and head to the balls dispenser. Key in the code and the balls will be released. Then head to the driving range. There are 2 levels. It was fairly busy when we were there so we went up to the upper level where there was nobody. It was fun. I will definitely want to go back for more time at the driving range and maybe the pitch and putt. It is also fairly inexpensive as it is run by the city. I am not sure if I will play the entire 18 hole as it does look daunting for a beginner like me.

Well, unless another wedding invite graces my mail box, there's no way I could get in. To get on the waiting list for membership is $25k on it's own. Plus, I don't wear my pants up at my armpits or take dinner before 5pm. The view is gorgeous. You can see the Grouse Grind and Vancouver from the expansive patio that faces the course. The greens look like they're kept in immaculate form. (I wonder if there's a wee little garden gnome out there in the early morning hours grooming them with a pair of shears! What else would they do with all those annual dues?) The staff is friendly, professional and on top of their game. They were awesome about bringing vegetarian dishes to the lone vegetarian at our table and kept the drinks coming! The food was decent. It's exactly what you'd expect at a golf course, although, as I mentioned, I was there for a wedding, so we possibly were privy to an exclusive menu - Shrimp Cocktail? Lobster thermidor? Dim sum dumplings as appetizers? Don't mind if I do!

Mostly it was adults when we went though and outdoor beverages are highly encouraged as there were many trash cans for bottles and cans all over the course. Hole 5 was the most epic one for video; surprised that's not hole 18 worthy instead. Coming on a weekday was great. There wasn't too many people and at most there was a couple in front of us and a couple behind us. I can imagine this place being a lot busier on the weekends. We initially went to the wrong side. The entrance for the mini golf payment is actually past the white lamps inside the restaurant. And the. Cash at the front is where you pa (even if it looks totally like a front desk despite it being named a pro shop). Overall, would go again. Easy date spot or activity idea. There were couples on first dates and friends catching up. Ample parking and I had a great time for my first time playing mini golf outdoors

The bricks surrounding each hole is quite loose which could be a potential danger for children who walk on it.. The holes were filled with water when we went (probably from the rain the night before) and the fake grass was lifting and some holes had a small portion that was filled in with carpet. All in all, the whole course looks nice from afar but when you're at each hole it looks a little bit dirty.
