I just knew- I wanted to get of the ship and explore the town and some local businesses. With my handy dandy device, thanks to Google Maps, I find it nifty that businesses have their names popped up on maps. The name in itself got my attention. Once I clicked on the business and scrolled thru pictures- I was SOLD!! I didn't even look at prices! I knew Haunted Manor opened at 11am and we were gonna get there before they opened up. Once you step in- we were greeted and informed lockers are available, no charge. We just did some light shopping at Bulk Barrel and utilized this free perk to stash our stuff. If you decide to purchase drinks- they'll need to be consumed in the immediate front room, at the seating area. Each room is meticulously decorated! The upbeat music gets your game face in motion. We decided not to keep score and just roll with it. I had my medical boot on- so, it was great to see the holes that you're actually using your putter, are well lit along the green. The rooms are mainly dimmed- to add to the spooky aesthetic. You just need to be a bit cautious when stepping onto the green, because there's a bit of a raised border. Some of the holes aren't your typical putt putt. And that's another elevated experience that bumps up the notch for Haunted Manor. Not sure if Canada has the tv show, Survivor or The Price is Right. Because some of these holes, you use your hands to to operate the ball. You'll see when you get there! Each hole has quirky instructions on how to play. Get as many photos and videos inside! I wish San Diego had something as cool as this! It really has Haunted Mansion vibes from Disneyland. When I checked my bank statement- it was $35, I believe in American dollars for two people.

This is a fun course, but this is the first year it was desperate for clean up: rock chips on the greens, no fish food in the dispenser, some broken decor. Parksville is the perfect place to visit if you love mini-golf, so of course I had to do a few…read morerounds at Riptide Lagoon while on vacation. Riptide Lagoon is located by a long road of seaside resorts, a little bit separated from the main downtown area of Parksville. We walked here from our hotel, and found it to be a pleasant and easy walk, but there's also parking available. When we visited both courses were very quiet, and it was nice to be able to play both 18-round holes without bumping elbows or waiting. The park is welcoming, and very well maintained, with attractive holes. I found the course here to be a little more technically challenging than some others I've played, which made it fun and interesting. It's a really solid place to have a good time, and I would definitely return on another visit.

He said the one around the lagoon was better because the course itself goes around the water and he felt it gave a better view while playing. There were 5 of us, and we took our sweet time playing since it wasn't very busy. I'm not sure if this is one of those hidden gem courses or not, because we tried Paradise Mini Golf earlier and it was absolutely packed. The views were great and there's a good amount of shade to hide from the scorching sun. The only negative I have for this course would be the green pitch tends to dip downwards towards the edge of each hole. This ends up causing a lot of balls to just ride and sit right up against the wall, so it makes it hard to putt when you have nothing but the top of the ball to hit. We'll be back to try the other course next time.

I was…read moreblown away by the picture opportunities that they have out and the condition of the pumpkins. great choices and none had soft spots. we do our thing and go in to pay. little family run place with Dan in the market working on things. his son in law was at the till. had a wonderful chat with him. he told me every morning someone is out checking the pumpkins and refilling, pulling the pumpkins that have soft spots. someone rebuilds the displays where you pick pumpkins and take pictures. I cannot believe I did not know about this place. we will definitely be back!!
