They strapped me in and I was very excited to go. (I was on the extreme corse) I listened to the directions and I started climbing. Not only did they give me a harness to small, but when I was zip lining my thing got turned around and I bashed in the wood, they had to do a emergency exit from 60ft. This place was SO much fun!!!! We had to make reservations about a week or two before arriving (there were some kids having birthday parties when I was there) and it's definitely a good idea to do so before visiting especially if you were like us and was only there for a day. We got to Victoria Harbor via ferry from Washington and took the bus from the harbor to a bus stop right outside of the Wildplay area (approx 15 minute walk from the bus stop?). The people on the buses and stores are all very friendly and helpful if you're new to the area...with that said, a bus was a pretty good choice in making your way here from the harbor. Other options are to rent a car, take a taxi, or rent a scooter but I believe it was just around $6 Canadian dollars/person for one way on the bus. Once you're there, you may have to wait for your group to be called before beginning but it was less than 15 minutes wait for us. They help you get your safety gear on (no helmets- and I REALLY would recommend wearing gloves) before heading to the training area. They give a very thorough demonstration on how to handle your safety gear, how to get up and down the areas, and how to attach to the rope for zip-lining. The trainers there (are all straight out of high school/college) are young but very professional and patient in teaching you how to safely get from one challenge to another. There are different levels (indicated by colors and change in height of the courses...yikes!) on the course, I believe 4 in total with the black diamond course (got off before that last one) being the most difficult. I have to admit, i have a fear of heights and some of these challenges really tested my temper and fear (I know there's safety measures but it's still scary). But I'm REALLY glad I did it and had a lot of fun doing it. I'd really recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun in the woods and get some great pictures (yes, you can bring your camera- they will most likely try to attach it to your safety gear...phones may be easy to lose...esp if you are nervous up high and have shaky hands). Ah, aside from the gloves (because you have to hold on to ropes, etc and can burn your hands- I got blisters) I also recommend maybe a light jacket or sweater because it can get a little cooler in the woods. Also, TRY NOT TO WEAR SHORTS...girls, it's not a good look when the safety belt goes on and everything scrunches up....guys...it doesn't look very comfortable. Also, you'll be climbing up ropes and swinging from them...it's easy to scrape and scratch yourself. Wear something casual and comfortable like jeans, sneakers, and tees. read more

WildPlay. The worst customer service!!! We ordered a gift card for our grandson's birthday. It was ordered Oct 9th, from the Victoria head office, in plenty of time for his birthday. We live in Victoria. No communication from customer service saying our card would be delayed. No tracking number, zero information from WildPlay. Nothing to give our grandson on his birthday. On October 26th we started trying to get answers. After way too much effort on our part and minimal help from the company, here's what apparently happened. Whoever took our order, decided to mail our card, snail mail, not even express, from Niagara Ontario on OCT 25th. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Who knows if/when we'll get it. Besides, his birthday is long over but we're sure the disappointment will last for years. Thanks for nothing WildPlay. Who cares what the parks are like, if you can't even get your gift card on time. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Two thumbs down. read more

The staff is fair. The initial training is brief, and their actual oversight of the goings on in the park is meh at best. The patrons are annoying because several seem to take this whole thing as a race and their 'self-paced' spiel is great until groups are backing up and the platforms get crowded. Their system doesn't allow for passing so it just gets worse and worse as the crowds go on. We ended up skipping half the course because the crowding wasn't being controlled. The WTF bungee jump took forever because they don't staff it and you have to track down the one guy who knows how to do it (don't waste your money). We waited 20 minutes or more while being assured 'there's just a large group at check in.' We never ended up doing the WTF, by the time an employee actually showed up, we were done. We didn't do the extreme either because the crowds were bad. The place is staffed and run by children. Ask yourself if you really want to put up with that annoyance. When I mentioned the crowding, I got a shrug and 'some people are faster than others. Nothing we can do.' Yeah, that's what I want to hear from the staff responsible for safety. Go do actual zip lines . They are adequately staffed and controlled. read more

After taking in a number of the sights of Victoria my children indicated that there were craving something more exiting. I realized that our planned visit to Butchart Gardens later that evening, would not quite fit the bill for them. So, I did an internet search and came up with this place. We jumped into our van, set our course on the GPS and in no time found ourselves getting strapped into our gear. There is a mini training session where we are taught how to use the "life line". That is the safety system that ensures you don't tumble out of the tree's. I learned that it is essential to always make certain that at least one of the two life lines is connected to the main life line at all times. Children age 11 and under are automatically given a more secure magnetic lifeline system which won't allow them to disconnect one line until the other is fastened. I had never done anything like this before and found myself feeling quite nervous (well scared actually) as I began the course. You will find yourself high up among the trees navigating tight ropes, moving planks, vertical ladders, ziplines and so on. I was able to relax a little once I began to trust the life line system. However, I will say that despite the training, I did notice to my horror that at one point in the course I failed to properly connect my lifeline! I am sure that some of you reading this must be cringing at the thought of the danger I was in for those few moments. Well I survived and continued to enjoy this challenging experience which turned into quite a workout to boot. For me, there were no more accidents in using the lifeline. We all agreed that this was great fun and were happy we did this. However I do have some safety concerns. At the beginning of the course, the trainer reassured me that nobody has ever fallen/been seriously injured. Still, in hindsight I would have had all of my children use the more secure magnetic lifeline system. Why not given my experience of improperly fastening my own life line. The business is certainly not taking any chances. No doubt they are well protected by that waiver they have you sign before your child even sets foot on the course. Price... Classic-$34.99 Extreme-(on extra course)-$10 add on WTF Jump-$14.99 add on I believe that there was also a less expensive/milder version of this experience for younger children. read more

I bungee jumped here several years ago (more than I am willing to admit). I was in the area recently, and had to go back. It was great to see how the place has grown, and now includes the primal swing as well as ropes courses. Staff is friendly, and the place is well kept. It's off the beaten path, so unless you know about it, you would certainly miss it. If you're looking for adventure and something different to do (and you're not a chicken ;) you should check this place out! Even if you don't jump, it's worth a walk up the bridge. Your heart will get pounding just from that! read more

Long looooong waits - two platforms took 40 minutes. People in front of us were completely out of their element and bit off way more than they could chew. Staff just let them hang there and laughed. Clearly they should have been removed from the course or at least not allowed to continue on to harder levels. Rather they were left to struggle and embarrass themselves. Staff was condescending when questioned about why they were allowing this to continue. Not a good experience overall and will not be returning or recommending. read more

My family had a great time at Wildplay. We've been to zip line parks all over the place, from Hawaii, Maryland, and Wisconsin to Washington state. This was a great experience. I love the self-paced obstacles and the freedom of movement between courses. My 12yo son had a great time and moved through the course with ease. The safety was brief and demonstration lacked the emphasis for newbies but we found it a typical experience with the grips and pulleys. I was surprised there were no helmets for the little kids or safety gloves. The park overall was clean and the staff was friendly. I would recommend the experience to friends and family and we will definitely be back if we are in the area again. read more

took 2 ten year olds. Cost. Over 50dollars. They started over 15 minutes after my reservation and made kids wait until all other attendees had started.. Finished course in ten minutes and was not challenging. What a waste of time and money. Avoid this place and just go hiking. Staff were young, scripted and condescending. read more
