Great playground structure on anacortes. There was something fun for everyone. The swings and play structure was all new and top of the line. It is a pretty big playground and w a lot to do. The only shame was that big kids were at this playground throwing the wood shavings and throwing bottles at each other, not good for the little kids playing nearby. Many of the families left. This might have been an one off but it wasn't pleasant having them throw things from across the playground. There is plenty of grass area to run and play sports. The parking lot was a good size as well. read more

We were visiting from out of town and stopped by to play, and boy am I glad we picked this one! We have kids ages one to six and they had a blast. At one point my 6 year old poked his head out of one of the portholes in the pirate ship and yelled "THIS PARK IS AWESOME!" (this coming from the kid who rarely enjoys things if its not on a screen ). Splash pad was closed because it was November, but that look pretty cool too. There's also a sign with pictures of the park construction, which was done by the community - my thanks go out to those folks who gave our family a fun afternoon on our trip! read more

We found this playground to meet up with Canadian friends as it was about 1/2 way between the border and Seattle. It was great. Wooden playground equipment with lots of places to explore. Swings. Lots of greenspace which was quite muddy after a rain. Trees and a walking path. Picnic shelter, restrooms, and basket ball court. My children have made me promise to bring them back in the summer to use the splash pad. It is generally not on the way to anything we go to - but we will keep it in mind for future visits. read more

Fun park, and probably the best in Anacortes, especially if you are looking for a park with a playground. It has trails, basketball court, picnic areas, ship-themed playground, fields, and a splash park during the summer months. Great place for kids. This is a pretty cool park! The grass is well groomed, and very clean all around. It has lots of benches and tables, a shed with picnic tables, a huge playground for kids, a baseball/soccer field, basketball court, paved pathways, and more. On top of that, it seemed like a nice, quiet, and friendly neighborhood. We stumbled upon this park on our way towards Washington Park close to the Anacortes Ferry and thought it was a nice looking park and decided to go here instead. We needed a place to have a small picnic to eat our 5 lbs of shrimps we bought @ Skagit's Own Fish Market and 2 bowls of clam chowder. I'm glad we made a uwey and experienced this awesome park! My son loved both the playground and the spray pad area. The playground had various themes such as pirate, water, and dragon. It had many things to climb and hang onto and a couple of slides. There were swings for babies, toddlers and bigger kids, a huge xylophone and another huge musical instrument. Once my son saw the water spraying and squirting up at the spray pad area, he navigated to it, splashed, ran around, went through the spraying water, and pretty much got soaked! He didn't want to leave so I had to carry him out, ran to the car, and changed him out of his wet clothes before he got too cold. It would've been fine if it was warmer outside, but it wasn't and there was a little bit of a wind factor. I also want to highlight the park's restrooms because I've never seen such super clean restrooms like the ones this park had! There were 4 gender neutral restrooms, two of which had a diaper changing station and a small wall chair inside. The restrooms were pretty roomy as well and could easily fit a family of four comfortably if you really wanted to. The restrooms were also hot water enabled, had soap dispenser which dispensed foamy soap, and a hand blower/dryer. Along the pathways are poles which had interesting facts. They were quite entertaining and educational. The grass was actually green and didn't see any weeds in it. It was well groomed and well maintained. Props to the city workers in charge of maintaining this park! If we're ever in town again for an excursion, we'll definitely swing by again! May the fourth be with you! :) read more

this is a great park for locals but also for people driving through anacortes with dogs or kids or adults who need a break and a place to let off some steam. it's conveniently located right off commercial drive and has parking on the north and south ends so it really doesn't matter how you approach it, you'll be able to walk the loop around the field or get to the area with tons of climbing stuff for kids. i especially appreciated were the bilingual signs with ideas and suggestions for things to do there in terms of interactive activities. the field was being mowed when i was there yesterday walking the dog and in general the park was very clean and definitely in heavy use which is always a good thing to see. read more

This is a fun park to visit. It is large which makes it hard to keep an eye on your kids but it otherwise is a huge hit. I love the splash pad part as well and we have fun finding and collecting painted rocks people place around. read more

For kid's parks this is the bees knees. It's not huge, but the entire park encompasses a baseball field with a large outfield area that is big enough for a soccer field, a couple basketball courts, a set of horseshoe pits, and two playground equipment areas. There is also a nice path around the perimeter. So what is so great about this park??? The newer playground area was built by the community and is one of those nice large wooden structures (it's actually some sort of composite, not real wood). There is a toddler area that is plenty big and includes 4 swings for just the toddlers as well as a low to the ground play area and a sand box. The bigger kid area has some musical pieces for kids to bang on as well as a large structure for them to climb, slide, play on and another set of swings and another sand box. When it's warm/sunny out people flock here. If you need a place for your children to blow of some energy this park is great and easy to access off of commercial ave. read more

We take our dog here every day to walk the park. People are friendly and sensitive to our small dog. The park is well-maintained. We try to contribute by picking up trash periodically. What an excellent community space! read more

My kids and I love this park. All of the equipment is well maintained. Little touches like hand painted tiles adorn the play area. Imaginations run wild from the ferry boat to the playhouses, suspension bridges and slides. The park is sectioned off into two play areas one for toddlers and the other for big kids. It also offers two large swing sets and a tire swing. Get out for some family fun! read more

Great park! The bathrooms were pretty icky, but the two playgrounds are very nice and appeal to a wide age range of kids.
