They want to keep this bit of history alive, but call it what it is. A bowling museum with a few artifacts and a confusingly updated computer scoring system for lanes that aren't playable. The reality is that if you're a bowler with your own equipment, don't waste your time here looking for a fun experience or to improve your game/score. The photos posted are deceptive and give the impression that the lanes are "up to date" but the actual lanes do NOT look like the lanes in the photos (which appear smooth and shiny). The ACTUAL lanes are very rough wood and though they may be "original", they appear to have been shellacked and not even sanded and/or buffed smooth but certainly were NOT oiled (unless it was furniture oil). These lanes are essentially "unplayable" with any new equipment and I would not risk your equipment on them. Now then, if you are looking to be transported back in time (almost back to the Flintstones) to feel what it would feel like to bowl under prehistoric conditions, and you're willing to pay a high price for time-traveling... EVEN THEN these lanes are tired and not what they used to be. It's truly a shame that they updated the computer scoring system but did not install new lanes and take care of them properly. If you roll a straight ball "Fred Flintstone" style and don't really give a s**t, want to pay high prices for booze and food and laugh it off until you get thrown out, this might be the place for you. Why pay the high prices though when you can do that at Riverside Lanes in Mt. Vernon, just a few miles away?? $4 a game (not including shoe rental) and no discounts offered to military, veteran, USBC member, or anything. I bowl fingertip with a newer ball, I threw 2 balls and stopped and left.. it was THAT bad. What a horribly sad experience. If I felt it would help, I would have dropped some change in a hat or something. Riverside Lanes in Mt. Vernon has many better lanes and it's still pretty old, I pay $2.50 a game there. If you're looking for a quality bowling experience close by, head to Riverside Lanes. I would not eat the food here either. Logical choice. There simply is not enough business flow to trust that the food is fresh and worth the high prices they are asking. This COULD be a good place but they would have to update the lane surfaces and get a more reliable staff to handle maintenance and repairs.. and I just don't see that happening with no business flow. The subfloor is questionable too. My young daughter rolled her ball and the entire place shook. They should have updated the subfloor and lanes before they updated the computer scoring system, money poorly spent. I'd rather bowl on good lanes and calculate my score on paper or on a vis-a-vis overhead projector like in the old days. I honestly cannot recommend this place to anyone for any reason. Walk in.. walk around, take a look at things, smile. Notice it isn't busy and it's not going to be, so take your time and check out the atmosphere if you're into that sort of thing. We had the lanes to ourselves, it was great! You pay by the hour and its affordable. We were relieved to bowl without the hassle of giant LED tvs advertising at us, like at Angel of the Winds. The ball return is fast, too! Service was excellent, super polite and friendly staff, fun and accommodating. Busy, but hey, they were helping customers carefully and thoughtfully all the time. Food was VERY GOOD! I heard rumors between towns that their pizza was great, and it did not disappoint. We had a pepperoni pizza and a taco pizza. The taco pizza I can't recommend enough, that kinda blew my mind. No grease, no plain-ness, just delightful slices of flavorful heaven, you can tell the kitchen puts soul into their craft. Clean soda, nice desserts, too! I felt pretty spoiled. We're definitely coming back, this is going to be our new bowling spot from now on. We want to be sure places this cool never go away. I ordered the Maple Bacon Ranch Burger and was left impressed! The burger was exactly what I expected. It tasted like a maple bar stuffed in between 2 pancakes. Utterly delicious. The fries were good too, I actually ate them all with my meal. They serve a Hazy that was made specifically for this location by "In the Shadow" brewing, which is another local spot right up the road. I was told the owners know each other and worked together to release this. It's pretty good if you like hazy IPAs as I very much do. The beer paired nicely with the burger and I was left feeling full and happy after the fact.

We had an absolutely horrible experience at Strikerz yesterday while there for our son's 7th…read morebirthday party. I never leave bad reviews, but our experience was so over the top bad and concerning that I feel a review is necessary so others are aware that Strikerz is not a place for a children's birthday party. We've been to Strikerz many times before and have always had nice experiences, so we thought it would be the perfect place to host our son's birthday party. About 15 minutes into our booking, an employee approached me and pressured me to have the kids use the slides to push the bowling balls down the lane. We already had two slides, and the kids did not want to use them, but she kept insisting that they "seemed like they were struggling." Shortly afterward, we were told that the kids were not allowed to stand together near the lane to watch the ball go down to the pins because "someone was going to get hurt." Okay, fair enough--rules are rules, and we were happy to follow them. One of our party guests, a 6 year old child, became confused and accidentally pushed a ball down the slide while it was pointed toward the "sidewalk" used by employees to service the lanes. There were far more adults than children at our party, and many of us saw what happened and immediately jumped up to help retrieve the ball and show our guest where the slide needed to be pointed. Immediately afterward, an employee rushed over and snapped at me that "bowling down the sidewalk needs to stop NOW." I was very taken aback and explained that it had happened once and was an accident. He insisted that he had seen it happen multiple times. I know for a fact that it happened only once. I was sitting there watching the kids the entire time they were bowling, along with many of the other adults in our party, and none of us saw it happen more than once. I told him again that I had only seen it happen once and that we would handle it if we saw it happen again. He then told me that if it happened again, he would "shut us down." He turned and walked away while yelling profanity and slamming his fist down on tables. Multiple adults who were there for our child's birthday party witnessed this behavior. I wish that were the end of it, but unfortunately, it wasn't. With more than 30 minutes still remaining on our two hour reservation, the same employee who had been pressuring us to use the slides came over to put our bowling balls away. Several adults explained that we weren't finished. She then approached me and asked if we were done bowling so she could take our balls. I told her no, that we still had more than 30 minutes remaining on our two hour reservation. She responded, "Okay, well, I just wasn't sure." One of the parents in our group also expressed to me that the staff really needs to work on their hospitality and customer service. She explained that they had been eating at a table, got up to get something, and returned to find staff vacuuming underneath their table. They had to wait for the employee to finish cleaning before they could continue eating. Throughout the party, we felt like we were being rushed out and made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff by being there--even though we had paid for and still had significant time remaining on our reservation. It was an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience, especially on a day that was supposed to be about celebrating our son's 7th birthday.

However, it was pretty clean and the rink is well maintained. They have both rollerskates and rollerblades in an extensive size range, including kids sizes. They also have elbow pads, wrist guards, and knee pads that you can borrow for free. I saw them actively sanitizing skates after use, which was good to see. I think the $20 feet is a bit steep, but not terribly unreasonable. The staff was nice, they could've been a little more energetic but overall they were doing a good job. I liked the music selection, a good mix of everything! The flashing lights were a little intense for me, but it added to the atmosphere which I can appreciate. If you're looking for a fun indoor activity, check out Lynnwood Bowl and Skate! I'd like to try bowling next time and give a review on that part of the facility.

What a total rip off! My son didn't even get matching shoes, the balls provided had many chips, and one of our consoles was not even working properly! When we told them of the problem they were not helpful at all. We just dealt with it. The skating rink was also very smelly and smelled like feet and the billiards tables were poorly kept as well as the sticks provided. For the price we paid the bowling wasn't even exciting as it wasn't even cosmic bowling. I can't believe people actually go here! We will not be coming back here to bowl, skate or play billiards!

Unfortunately, what happened next completely ruined the experience. About half of the lanes were empty, and there was maybe one child in the entire place--it was almost entirely adults. Another person in our group and I are clearly beginners. We noticed several bowling ramps (the kid assist slides) lined up off to the side and not being used at all. Since there were 4-5 of them sitting there unused, we figured it would be okay to borrow one. Before we could even line it up in our lane, an older man yelled from across the room, "NO!" Then he stomped over and yelled again, "Those are for kids," and grabbed the ramp out of our hands to put it back where it was. Sure, maybe we could have asked first. But it was sitting out in the open and not being used. Regardless, yelling across the room and storming over to paying customers is completely inappropriate and a huge overreaction. A calm, polite explanation would have accomplished the same thing. This would have been a place I'd come back to, but that man--whether he was an employee or the owner--completely ruined the experience.
