The space is large, clean, and there's plenty to keep little ones busy for a good stretch of time. That said, there were a few concerns during our visit that I think are important to mention, mainly around pricing and safety. First, admission is $20 per person, including adults. For parents who are there primarily to supervise and occasionally assist a younger child, that adds up quickly. Some of the equipment involves large mats and tubes that can be heavy for smaller kids to carry on their own, and it would be nice for parents to be able to help without needing to purchase a full-price admission for themselves. My biggest concern, however, is safety. The layout is very open, with multiple access points, and there is currently no check-in/check-out system matching children with the adults they arrived with. As it is now, someone could enter or leave with very little attention paid, and there is no wristband or stamp process that verifies that each child is leaving with their actual parent or guardian. A simple matching bracelet or stamp system would make a tremendous difference in peace of mind. While there were staff members present, several of them appeared distracted -- talking with friends or generally not paying close attention to what was happening in the play areas. They also weren't very easy to identify as staff. If parents are expected to stay off certain equipment unless they pay admission, it would really help to have clearly identifiable staff who are actively monitoring and assisting -- especially at the top of larger slides or play structures where younger kids may need help. Overall, my child enjoyed the visit, and the concept of the place is great. With stronger safety procedures at the door and more attentive, easily identifiable staff presence throughout, this could be an outstanding place for families. If you go just really keep an eye out. Hate to see anything bad happen in this place in the future

I was there recently for a rained out game vs. the epically-named Walla Walla Sweets, and even though the game never even got started we still had a great time! I've also attended many fun (and sunny) games in the past, usually on $2 Tuesday when you can buy a second ticket for just (you guessed it) two smackeroos. One of the least mentioned things about attending a Bells game is that they seriously have the most impressive tap list I've ever seen at a sporting event. Yeah, there's a guy selling the cheap stuff too - but just past him you'll find taps (and cans) of many classic local and regional brews. When's the last time you saw Iron Horse Brewery's Irish Death on tap at T-Mobile Park in Seattle? I'm just sayin'. By the way, even though our game against the very entertaining Sweets was rained out I'll still go again - because I can use my "rained out" ticket stub at a future game to get in free. Parking on crosswalks, in front of mailboxes, and very close to STOP signs really isn't a good idea. If you buy the wrong size apparel from the team store, they will allow you to exchange sizes. No returns. Prices are a little high; items are good quality. Some of the concession stand food is lacking. Don't waste money on the veggie burger. For $7, burger only, it actually really is quite pitiful. $2 Tuesday concession items for $2 include a hotdog, nachos, large fountain pop, and select beer.

On multiple occasions this has happened well over two hours before the hours listed online and on the sign at the front door which clearly says "driving range closes at 4pm". It's incredibly frustrating to drive 20 minutes one way expecting the range to be open, only to find out otherwise. The lack of consistency is disappointing and reflects poor customer service. If hours are going to change regularly, they need to be updated accurately so customers aren't wasting their time.

Played Avalon this weekend. Had really nice weather for the first week of October. The course is in…read moregood shape. They have 27 holes and we played the North & South nines. Course is nothing fancy and it's pretty short (I want to say 2,700-2,800 yards from the whites for each of the nines we played). The beverage cart came through five or six times, which is probably the most I've ever experienced. The beers were cheap - $2 for a 12 oz Rainier and $4 for a 12 oz Bodhizafa. I used my prepaid round through the Around the Sound golf pass, so I don't know what the green fees are. The staff we encountered were all friendly - pro shop, starter, beverage cart, marshal. One thing I really liked was that they had a "warm up" bucket for the driving range. For most courses, the smallest bucket has 40-50 balls, but the "warm up" bucket had about 20, which is perfect if I want to shake off the morning rust. I don't need to hit fifty balls before my round, so it was nice to not have to pay for a larger bucket. It's definitely a course I'd play again if I were in the area.

I have only tried Zumba classes with Celine so far (which are fast paced and high energy)!! But so many others I want to try! Prices are VERY reasonable and they even offer punchcards which bring price down even more. Everyone I have met there is super friendly. Large classes but the gym is also good sized so plenty of room. Highly recommend checking them out!! Oh and easy parking too!

Bellingham has so many great parks right inside the city, and Maritime Heritage is one of them. It…read morehas paved trails throughout the park, picnic tables, a creek running through it, and a fish hatchery. The fish hatchery is accessible and a nice place to watch the salmon. The park also allows fishing. We happened to visit during salmon run season. It was awesome to see so many salmon and also a little bit gross lol. However I highly recommend visiting this beautiful park anytime. Its a nice place to get away and enjoy nature without getting too far away.

There's good news and bad news in Maritime Heritage Park. The bad news is the park has seen some…read morerecent tough times. It has become a magnet for the homelessness and rampant drug use that - like other cities - has come to plague our town. The good news is the fine citizens of Bellingham have recognized the need for this park to return to being a safe, fun public space. So several local groups have started organizing events here designed to put the FUN back into the park. I see good things ahead for MHP. Meanwhile, it's still a place best avoided after dark. :(
