One star was the mandatory minimum forced by Yelp. Zero stars are warranted. Sure, selection is great. However, customer service leaves much to be desired. I'm taking my full final f*ckin' Karen form on this one. I'll preface by saying I know jack squat about Pokémon cards, nor will I ever claim to. However, my 7-year old son adores Pokémon, is an avid trader and collector among his peers and with his uncle, and prior to this experience, we've been quite fond of this place. Yesterday, he was pumped to get a quote for the value of a handful of cards that he had been excited to receive in trades. Prior to going in, I told him to temper his expectations, and that he would likely receive a much lower quote than he was expecting. I explained what a for-profit business is, and the difference in what they quote and what they turn around to sell is how they pay the bills. I told him if he wasn't satisfied with a quote, he didn't have to do a thing and just hang on to the cards. Still quite shy about approaching any customer service situation, he sheepishly approached the lady behind the Pokémon counter, asking if he might get a quote for the seven cards in his little protective binder. Interrupting him, without even opening his binder or giving a simple glance at any of the cards, the lady said, "Those are all bulk cards and are worthless." This upset me, not because of her opinion, but because of the way she just wrote him off. She gave absolutely no shits about the kid. I asked, "Are you able to tell the value of any given card without knowing which card it is or even seeing the card?" Response from the Smug Pokémon Bitch (a term I avoid using at most costs) : "Oh yeah, just like any other industry, when you've been doing something for this long, you become an expert." We promptly left. Smug Pokémon Bitch appears to be an expert in negative marketing because I'm blasting this experience far and wide. Regardless of the true value of his cards, had she taken the thirty seconds to just take a look at them instead of writing him off simply because he's a child, I wouldn't be wasting the energy or time to type this out. But this warrants the Karenning. Take your business elsewhere. This place can kick rocks. read more

It's a nice store and the staff seem chill. My only complaint is that they do overcharge their cards. I purchased 39 individual Pokémon cards to complete my set, and was charged $63 for them (all NM). When I got home, I price-matched each card on TCGPlayer and I found that if I had purchased them there it would've been only $38 shipped (all NM). Unfortunately, this is just a lesson learned on my end. I'm sure this is a common pricing tactic for all or most card shops (as I can't see how they can stay in business otherwise), but for those who want to get the most out of your money, buying your cards online is still the best bet! read more

I went in to get a couple of magic card packs for my partner for Christmas. I told the cashier I didnt know much about Magic the Gathering, only what decks my partner uses and asked for some recommendations. The cashier was incredibly rude, sighed audibly when I asked for help, and rolled his eyes at me. I'm not sure if it's because I'm visably queer or feminine presenting why he was so rude, but I've heard similar experiences from my other friends. I will not be shopping there again. read more

The staff were super helpful in our pursuit for something to impulse buy and their prices were so much better than other shops we found in the area. Sometimes you want to drive two hours to find the perfect game boy and trading cards for a game that you don't even play and that's FINE (right?) I Recently took my Black soft modded PSP into cosmic games to have it fixed. Originally I had these issues: . Stuck Vol+ button, . Wanted shell replaced (in blue) to fix the screen scratches & fix the back hinge I was told it would be 2 weeks/$20 (shell replacement was added, the price came 50 & indefinite time), & that cosmic games were ok with working on it even though it was soft modded, which I made sure to ask at the start. They also never asked me for my phone number which was weird, just my first name. 2 months later, I after not hearing anything, I started calling & all I got each time is "why don't you come down so we can see if we have it", even after id ask them to check in the back room. little rude since they knew I lived in a different city & it was a long drive. Each time it was never done. Finally, when they were 'done' one of the workers handed me the system in my case, I paid for it, but he wouldn't give me a receipt & asked me for cash only (That was unexpected). Right before I left I realized I hadn't taken a look like I should have before paying & was shocked to see it in worse condition. List of issues: . The screen was very scratched & in an unusable state . Only top shell was replaced, . The buttons were now mushy, . Dust between LCD & shell This was unacceptable, I kept my calm & asked them to fix it again. I was told it would be 1 month exactly, & 30 bucks. I didn't wanna pay but I accepted anyway. After 1 month, they hadn't finished it, so I kept asking & 1 month later they started being super rude to me on the phone. I was actually yelled at by the owner multiple times (I never yelled back, nor was rude). I ended up having to have my dad call because I felt I was being scammed & in over my head, my dad reported the owner actually threw a fit in the background of the call. Eventually, they told me they could switch it with a PSP 1000 or 3000 right then & there & not charge me. Both of those models are worse than a PSP 2000 so I said no. (PSP 1000 have less ram, 3000 screens are known to be problematic). The owner also dropped the remaining charges for the device. When I showed up, they handed it to me in an even worse condition List of new issues: . The back hinge was still broken, if not worse, . The screen is still scratched, if not worse than last time, . Cosmic games put a USED PSP 1001 Shell the PSP 2001 (PSP 2001 is thicker, causing many issues) . The secondary battery I kept in my case was missing, . Inside the PSP was not my normal battery, instead, it was a much smaller battery (physically & capacity), . The LCD inside was scratched, . Because It was smashed into a smaller shell, the home, volume +/-, start, & select buttons all were forced to be pressed if any I BARELY even touched any part of the lower half of the system, making it impossible to stay in came without the home screen pops up . Sometimes it doesn't even want to boot now Not knowing what to do, my dad and I took it into CPR next door to see what they could do. After talking to CPR, I started noticing it wouldn't always boot, realized the screws were not screwed in all the way (& didn't match), & I finally realized it was the wrong shell. I decided I wanted to talk to Cosmic games one last time to get my money back & return the game I had accidentally left in it when testing it. At this time I was feeling anxiety so I let my dad talk to the owner. All he would say was "cant help you. Nothing I can do, not my problem". When we handed him the game he even tried to claim it wasn't his (the sticker was on it) & eventually said that it was hardware modded, & the screen LCD was already scratched before he got it & said some of the issues I wanted fixing were already there & not his problem (excuse me?), before we could speak. We kept our calm & left, but we were so angry. Never did act rude/swear/raise my voice... & yet now I no longer have a working PSP, & at this point, it would cost more to fix it than to just buy a vita. I can't believe I was treated like this, & I refuse to ever come back. Nice job guys :( read more

Easily the busiest geek shop in town. A good local comic shop with a fairly good selection of the most recent mainstream comics. DC, Marvel & Image are well represented and a handful of some the more popular alternative trade paperbacks are always on hand. Before you visit, be aware their main business is disc golf supplies and Magic the Gathering cards, so be prepared for the staff not to be able to answer questions about comic inventory or upcoming comic books. That said, their Magic selection of is pretty impressive and the ample seating within the shop makes it a great place to sit and read your comic purchases or play a pick-up game of Magic with other customers. read more

After seeing the movie Thor: The Dark World, my wife was interested in reading some Thor comics. I suggested the Walt Simonson version of the hero from the 1980s, which I knew had been collected into a number of volumes. We went to Cosmic Comics. It was our first visit, but the store is so well organized, we knew very quickly where to look. And there it was, exactly what we wanted precisely where we expected to find it. When we went to purchase the Thor collection, we met Thomas at the register and we got to talking. We explained how we had just come from the Thor movie. He offered us a 15% discount as part of a promotion Cosmic was having that linked to the movie's release (despite the fact that the promotion had been for the prior week). Then we started talking about board games and the tabletop movement and game nights and online game demonstrations. All in all, it was one of those tremendous experiences you rarely get in the world of retail, but when you do, it is always in a local store whose owners have a passion for what they sell. I live in Seattle and Cosmic is in Bellingham, but you can be sure I'll be visiting Cosmic Comics on all subsequent visits to Bellingham. read more

this place has amazeing costemer service i went in and checked it out after they got there building arsoned the manager seams to LOVE his job and this is a place i would want to work in the future the only 2 problems are is the lip that is a potintal triping hazard when you walk in the doors the other problem i have is they seam to put in verry dinkey looking heating systems they replaced there over head unit heater with a wall heater (witch are made for residental aplications) why would a person do that? thats absolutley no problem with me though you just have to adapt to the situation read more
