I'm taking my full final f*ckin' Karen form on this one. I'll preface by saying I know jack squat about Pokémon cards, nor will I ever claim to. However, my 7-year old son adores Pokémon, is an avid trader and collector among his peers and with his uncle, and prior to this experience, we've been quite fond of this place. Yesterday, he was pumped to get a quote for the value of a handful of cards that he had been excited to receive in trades. Prior to going in, I told him to temper his expectations, and that he would likely receive a much lower quote than he was expecting. I explained what a for-profit business is, and the difference in what they quote and what they turn around to sell is how they pay the bills. I told him if he wasn't satisfied with a quote, he didn't have to do a thing and just hang on to the cards. Still quite shy about approaching any customer service situation, he sheepishly approached the lady behind the Pokémon counter, asking if he might get a quote for the seven cards in his little protective binder. Interrupting him, without even opening his binder or giving a simple glance at any of the cards, the lady said, "Those are all bulk cards and are worthless." This upset me, not because of her opinion, but because of the way she just wrote him off. She gave absolutely no shits about the kid. I asked, "Are you able to tell the value of any given card without knowing which card it is or even seeing the card?" Response from the Smug Pokémon Bitch (a term I avoid using at most costs) : "Oh yeah, just like any other industry, when you've been doing something for this long, you become an expert." We promptly left. Smug Pokémon Bitch appears to be an expert in negative marketing because I'm blasting this experience far and wide. Regardless of the true value of his cards, had she taken the thirty seconds to just take a look at them instead of writing him off simply because he's a child, I wouldn't be wasting the energy or time to type this out. But this warrants the Karenning. Take your business elsewhere. This place can kick rocks.

So we headed to Launching Success and wow, did we have fun. I hadn't been to LS for several years - but was thrilled to find they still carry the same, high quality games, toys, books, supplies and other things to support homeschooling and home learning. Our first stop was at their fidget toy display, where my daughter picked out a couple of nice things to "play" with and help keep her focused during her days of Zoom classes. Next, we checked out some of their awesome art materials before heading to what I call the "teacher zone". This area of the store is FULL of all that cool stuff you see around your kid's classroom and you wonder where they got it. Well, they probably got it here! From posters to banners to you-name-it this room almost inspired me to return to college for my teaching certificate. (Hey, I said ALMOST.) While many of the items in this area are geared towards real classroom use (like signs about rules, or birthday lists) we found a couple of inspiring signs to put up around my teen's desk, as well as some organizational bins for pens and other supplies. Launching Success would also be an excellent place to buy high quality gifts for holidays or birthdays - they have a huge variety of games for all ages, and their prices are very competitive.

We found precut mat in various sizes that brought the space between the frame and the photos close, but still not quite right. We then came across scrap book paper! Very reasonable and so many options! It worked out great and finally we can proudly display and enjoy the school photos instead of putting them on the fridge with magnets lol! If you have time to wander, this is a fantastic place for Getting ideas for so many organization/decorating/house projects! The staff was friendly and helpful. I should also mention, they do offer custom mats here but for this project, it was not worth the money (these are tiny photos and we will probably re frame new ones next year). They also can custom frame and mat your photos/artwork of Any size!

Either way I talked to 4 people going up the ladder and not one of them was willing to even reverse 2 late fees out of 12 plus months . I will never shop with this company again or any company that isn't willing to try and help to keep a customer . They give 2 shits and their customer service is horrible . Being in the customer service industry for about 40 years I have never encountered a business like this. Also no where does it say that Michael's AKA Comenity Bank that their app is called Bread Financial which in itself is stupid . What actually happened was my husband found approximately everything he has ever wanted. Jackets, gear, "ooh look at this" items, suddenly it was less holiday shopping and more Yeagers-sponsored shopping spree for him. And honestly? I'm not mad about it. Because now I know exactly what Santa is bringing him (Great job, Santa. Nailed it.) We did successfully shop for the people we came in for...one lucky person is getting a Yeagers gift card (which honestly feels like a win for everyone). I also found the cutest raincoat ever, cowboys, cows, and horses, plus matching rain boots, BOTH marked down. I mean come on. Instant joy. Yeagers has an amazing selection of high-quality, top-tier outdoor clothing brands, a massive toy section, a great shoe department, and just so many things you didn't know you needed until you see them. It's one of those places where you go in for "one thing" and leave smiling with a cart full of happiness. Highly recommend especially during the holidays. Your list might get finished but don't be surprised if you end up shopping for yourself too.
