Reset Games is one of my go-to game stores in Bellingham. They have an amazing selection of games ranging from the earliest Atari games to modern console titles. Also, they have many different consoles there, and at good prices too! Sometimes they will have rarer consoles in stock like the Atari Jaguar or the Virtual Boy. They also have great deals on consoles. The prices may seem higher than market for the consoles, but that is because if you buy a console, it comes with OEM cables and controllers included, not 3rd party junk. For example, I got a VG condition non-yellowed SNES for $90 with all the previously mentioned accessories included. The staff are happy to accept a return within 30 days of a purchase with a full refund, which is very nice if an item stops working after a few days. As for trade-ins or selling, Reset Games will not currently accept defective/broken items as they do not offer a repair service. If you want to sell broken/defective items, go to Cosmic Games, as they offer a good repair service. The only slight downside is that the game prices are sometimes a bit higher than competing stores in the area, but their massive selection of games makes up for that. In conclusion, Reset games is a great game store. I always love stopping by. It's a must-visit for gamers. read more

I have gone there MANY times and got faulty items. We got 3rd party n64 games that are spray painted green with dead batteries so you can't save which we brought back multiple times. Every copy was bad. Every console I have gotten from there was busted and not tested properly. Multiple PS2 slims with dying disk drives. So, I went to their sister store down south. [over a 3-hour drive] Their staff told me they tested the ps2 they had. We drove back home and within 5 min the 1st controller port was bad and making the controllers loose connection and power. (how can you miss this if it was properly tested?) Also, that ps2 couldn't read disks towards the end of the disk. We have sold them a console ourselves and watched how they test consoles. They turn it on, throw a disk in, and if the disk reads, they just shut it off. There is no performance testing done, or everything I have said above would have been caught. BEWARE OF CONSOLES YOU BUY FROM HERE. ASK TO DO YOUR OWN TESTING BEFORE HANDING THEM MONEY, AS THEY WILL NOT GIVE BACK A REFUND, ONLY STORE CREDIT! They lost a customer that goes in spending 500 to 800 bucks a visit today. Their staff (dude with blue hair) told me they don't normally return consoles until I told him I spoke to someone in a higher position about this already, then, he wanted me to fill him in on what I was told so he could follow their policy better. Seemed like he was trying to cut me off on returns until I notified him, but I knew better already. Cosmic Games not only sell everything that Reset Games has, but they also do repairs, and their employees don't try to lie to me. They have made 1000s off of me and counting. Any issues I have had, they fix without charge as far as consoles or handhelds that I have purchased goes. Cosmic Games IS THE SUPIRIOR STORE costs more but WAY MORE accommodating and professional. read more

We were at a gaming store looking for specific Skylanders gaming characters and since they had a very limited selection, they recommended Reset Games. So we drove up from Burlington to find this place located in a small strip mall. Both guys that work here are really friendly and helpful. Best video game store in the county. Their prices on new games are competitive with other shops in town and the used games are often at least 10% cheaper than other local used stores. The comfy chairs in the "try before you buy" section, in addition to their 5-day full-refund return policy on used games makes anything you buy a great deal! All the staff are friendly gamers and knowledgeable about all the game systems available, old and new. I've seen them treat hardcore gamers and grandmothers looking for gifts intelligently and with respect, it makes me appreciate how high profile a locally-owned store can be. I recently heard a rumor that Reset Games had teamed up with Another Castle Games to open up a brand new "barcade" next to Reset's figurehead store on Barkley. Well, folks, I'm pleased to report that the rumors are true! The hubs and I stopped in here this weekend and I gotta say, this is the second such spot in Bellingham to open in the past year, and I'm liking this trend. This location is called Reset Games: Arcade Edition. It's a small space, next to (but completely separate from) the RG mothership next door. It's filled mostly with vintage video games and has a nice row of pinball options. The lighting is dim, with colorfully appropriate airbrushing on the walls and a super friendly dude behind the counter. They have a selection of soda, snacks, and (yay!) bottled craft beer from local and regional brewers! I think I spotted some ciders in that fridge, too. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, so there were plenty of families/kids hanging out, but I will definitely go back sometime during the evening as this seems like a great spot to do something different for date night or hanging out with friends. There's a few little booths for sitting, and super-convenient drink holders next to many of the games. I have this vision of them adding beer on tap eventually - wouldn't that be cool? Standard prices for new stuff, overpriced on their used games and consoles. (A much better option in Bellingham is Finders Keepers - not as much selection but better prices and vastly superior customer service) Yesterday I had an absolutely terrible experience at this store. A mixup with my debit card caused the manager to grab my card and refuse to return it while he was on the phone for 30 MINUTES. He refused to speak to me the entire time or explain what was going on. When he finally got off the phone he notified me that Mastercard thought the card was stolen and immediately cut it in half in front of me. No opportunity for me to explain myself, no opportunity to call my bank (which is literally across the street) and sort it out. I had a purchase history with the store and was attempting to buy a $13 Gamecube controller. 5 minutes later I went to my bank, ordered a new debit card, and vowed never to return to Reset Games. read more

A great video game store and a nice alternative to the big chain competitor (GameStop). Most of Reset Games new games are at least a dollar or more cheaper than the other guys as well as their vast used games section. What you'll find in the used game area are not just XBox 360 and PS3 games, but systems of yesteryear. Everything from original NES to Atari 2600!! The staff is friendly and upbeat and there are tons of games in a small spot There are comfy chairs here for you to try out your games. Reset also offers a discount card for used games and accessories. They also buy your old games and systems as well. read more

Been there quite a few times and have a membership card there. Great selection of games ranging from the old school to the new school and from used to new. A wise selection of games from various systems. You can trade in games for in store credit that you can use when purchasing other games. Don't be surprised with your trade in value as it's pretty standard business (they buy low and sell at a higher price). The prices for the games themselves are pretty reasonable, but if you get a membership there (absolutely free), you get 10% off a used game price. You can even play games while you're there! I haven't done this myself, but there are stations set up so you can try them out before you buy (I believe that's how it works). The employees themselves are knowledgeable at what they do and are a great help whenever you have questions. read more

Great service. Everyone is friendly, their prices are the best, and they have a large selection of used and retro games. They have a place for you to try out games on different systems before you buy them and are one of the few places left that will buy back your old games for a decent amount of credit, esp. since Gamestop won't take back old-system games anymore. I had no idea there was a place like this. Great prices on both new and used games but also a museum of video game history. Pick up a cartridge for Intellivision, N64, or grab an original game boy. My dad used to take me here all the time as a kid. During that time they didn't have the arcade next door. I played on the PlayStation 2 as a kid, and they always had a bunch of ps2 videogames for a very cheap price. As years went on, new consoles were being produced, and to this day I dont think they sell those anymore which is a bummer, but glad they did back then. The beauty of this store is that they sell a large variety of games. They could be vintage, or just rare games that aren't usually found in the mainstream stores. Most of the games here a pretty cheap, and have never really caused me issues. However, when I purchased a PS2 game several years ago, I brought it home and didn't work at all. As a child I very upset about that and may have a cried a little, but I am still alive to this day! The employees at Reset Games have always been very friendly and accomodatingwith ones needs. Heck if you asked them where the closest bar is in town, they would hapily give you directions. As for the location of Reset Games, who can argue? There's an amazing arcade right next door for you to go to, or take your kids there for some fun. There's an amazing hot dog spot nearby, and also one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, "Taqueiria Techalitan". Just overall a great little outlet to visit, I highly recommend checking out Reset Games! read more

Wonderful people working at the location... Great customer service. Good prices for most of the products... So why 1 Star you ask? I was offered 5c for most of my XBox games (in perfect condition with a box) they resell it for $2-$5 that's 4,000% to 10,000% mark up. For my XBox 360 game-counsel I was offered $25 or $30 store credit... they sell it for over $100 that's over 300% mark up. I do understand the need to make a profit for any business... but within reason. Next time you purchase a used game or a game-counsel from this store, please think about the person that has actually sold it to them. Blessings... read more

A great place to bring the kids or go to with friends. there's a selection of sodas, snacks, and beers/ciders for the adults. Staff is very friendly, it's usually just one person working at a time I'm pretty sure. They have an atm if you didn't bring any cash & there's 2 coin machines, I think. Also if you did bring cash you can ask the worker for 5's if you don't want $20 worth of quarters. I think this would be a great place to go for a date night with your significant other. There is some amazing art on the walls of some video game characters. It's just a great atmosphere . Personally I've been here about 5 times and I love it. The arcade games are nostalgic and lots of fun. read more

I emailed some feedback to the store about the employees smoking and discussing inappropriate matters right outside the bathroom door. The only response I received was from their IT guy saying to ignore it because it came from the community college. Don't bother to give them feedback. The employees were nice enough behind the counter. They have a good selection of used games, but crap on new. Store is crowded. read more

This is the best place to get games in Bellingham. The selection is really good and varied. Whether you wanna spend $6 or $60 they have a lot of games. The staff there is super cool too, they leave you alone unless you want help, then they have good advice. read more

Great staff and service. Good selection of games and peripherals, and just an interesting place to browse/shop for both contemporary and retro games. My one quibble is around pricing. I bought a game for my son in the fall that turned out to be too violent (it was basically a first-person shooter). It cost me $5.85, but when I returned it (it was past the 30 day warranty) I only received 50 cents trade-in value. So that was a bit of a shock--the discrepancy between purchase- and sell-prices, that is. Otherwise, a must-visit for both serious and casual gamers in the Bellingham area! read more

The staff is rude and unhelpful and the prices are far too high especially when compared to internet/GameStop prices. I really regret spending my hard earned money on a place that treats their customers as poorly as Reset Games does. The selection is limited, one of the games I bought was in such poor condition that it didnt even work in my PS3. I cant believe they have quality control as low as this!
