This place is a gamer's paradise, not just because it's a game store, but because the ownership are true gamers and know what they want and need. They also price things competitively so you don't have to shop Amazon to get a good deal. They have a used game section, which is a great way to score a like-new game for cheap. One of my favorite things that they do is host a variety of game nights, which is super cool. I've really enjoyed being able to connect with fun people who want to play the same types of games as me.

Nice guy. Not a lot of options on merchandise but it's still awesome that it's a game store.read more

I stopped in to The Book Rack today and decided to have a light snack at the Cafe inside…read more I chose the Mushroom and Olive flatbread and Autumn Heat tea. The flatbread was nice and crispy with a good flavor for something pre-made and just needed to be heated. But the highlight of my visit was the Autumn Heat tea. The "Heat" refers to the spice level (one of the ingredients is Hot Honey), you can choose for it to be served hot or cold. I chose to have it served hot. I really enjoy spicy food and drinks. This tea was very spicy! If you enjoy spicy foods you should give this one a try. Otherwise, I recommend you pass on this one! As normal, the staff are very friendly, knowledgeable about what they sell, and polite. Always a pleasure to shop at The Book Rack.

The bookstore had a dining area, games to stay and play, a discount section, mini events area, just so much not including the books and it was so cute! Books were pricey but given the condition, special editions, etc ... it's understandable. Will definitely be a frequent customer!

This is one of the biggest and most comprehensive hobby shops I have been to in a long, long time…read more These don't exist anymore in NYC, having gone extinct by lack of interest and internet commerce. Supplying many of these hobbies have been relegated to a few shelves in big-box craft shops like Michaels and Hobby Lobby in the US. Once I found Imperial Hobbies on Yelp during our vacation and it was near our hotel, I made my plans. I dropped my wife off for her spa day and this was going to be my spa day ;) The store is in a group of buildings almost at the end of the runway of Vancouver Airport (YVR). If you hang around, you'll see tons of airliners approaching for landings and roaring off on take offs. I just couldn't believe the selection of plastic models of planes, armor, cars and trucks along with complete selections of paint and finishing materials. It's these types of stores that I would spend hours in as a boy, but could only stare wide-eyed because I never had much money back then. But now as an adult with a job and disposable income, I probably would have gone broke if I didn't have to pack everything into my luggage to fly home. The favorable CAD$ to USD$ exchange rate also helped a lot in my shopping. I ended up with a couple of scale plastic model kits and a flying model rocket that are rare, out of production kits or very hard to find, even on-line.

Two out of the last three years I either couldn't make it very early or couldn't make it at all for Free Comic Book Day. The Staff suggested I send a Facebook message listing the titles I really wanted and they would try and set aside copies, and they did both years. I traded in a short box of comics for store credit. Realized of course that they couldn't give me retail value before doing it, but still got more than I was expecting. The amount of titles they stock from large, small and medium publishers alike is impressive. They have fulfilled several special orders I've requested. The Game Room for RPG, card games, etc. is spacious and inviting. Feel pretty fortunate to have this store in my area.
