I've been here two or three times before with my daughter when she was littler, and her friends were little, too. We loved it. It's so neat to be able to touch animals that few people see, let alone pet. I have a picture of her as a small child, almost lying on top of a wallaby in the sun. So, when a friend from Seattle asked that I meet her halfway from my north end location, this was the outing I chose for the day. The tour wasn't as long as I remembered it being, and the marsupials weren't quite as snuggly. However, the variety was amazing. There were tiny baby lemurs on display, a mama wallaby with a baby in her pouch, burros, kissing alpacas, emus you could pet... it's a pretty unique experience. I only removed one star because I felt rushed through. In the past I don't recall feeling like I was being held to a tight time limit, and that was a little disappointing. Overall, it's a cool experience, and I highly recommend it-- especially for those with children. read more

What an incredible experience going to the Kangaroo Farm! The Farm is family run, and their pride in the place is evident. They offer guided tours only, lasting about 40 minutes with ample opportunities to interact with the animals. We were able to feed wallabies, kangaroos, goats, llamas and donkeys. There were also lemurs, peacocks, chickens and more! Each animal stop came with fun facts, stories and even a trivia round. Fun for even adults looking for something new! Wow! I went today and am absolutely floored by my experience! The owner and his daughter were so incredibly welcoming and made sure to be inclusive of every person on the tour. The animals are beautiful, well cared for, and in spacious enclosures. (I can't fathom the negative reviews that I read criticizing them, it's simply not true!) My brother brought our Mom here a few years ago. He said it was great and now I can agree! We took our granddaughters, age 3 and 8, and enjoyed every minute. The animals seem well cared for and have a great deal of space to roam. The owners have strict rules for the protection of both animals and visitors. My wife found this place and took me, our son, and her dad here. It was a fun experience! I can say that out of all the times I have been around wild animals at zoos, I have never pet a kangaroo or gotten this close to one. I am from San Diego too so I used to be a member of the San Diego Zoo and their other location called the Safari Park. I guess it is a very well known zoo world wide which is why I mentioned it. Even though I have been to these two wonderful parks, I have never experienced anything like I did at this Kangaroo Farm. The petting zoos they have don't have Kangaroos! Even though I gave 5 stars, I do have one negative thing to mention. And that is the staff tone of voice and demeanor. They were professional and competent, but sounded annoyed. I know people can be difficult to deal with in that environment, but it is your job to put up with them without sounding irritated while doing so. They have some al pacas, chickens and other animals too. My wife pre-purchased the tickets and I remember it wasn't that cheap. But how often do you get to pet Kangaroos? read more

We had a great time at the kangaroo farm as adults, kids would have a blast too. Easy to find, a short drive from Arlington, easy parking, and no scheduling it's show up and go. Prices are a little bit high for what you are getting, but nonetheless a great time. There's a few animals to look at inside and engage with, beware the parrot will scream at you! You'll get to see lemurs, donkeys, an emu, goats, wild deer, kangaroos etc. you can pet a handful of them as well. The workers seemed knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and the animals seemed to be treated well. If you're looking for an elegant experience this isn't it, it's a fun 45min show and tell by a couple different people, pet and feed a few animals and you're done. Who would have guessed that a slice of the Australian Outback would be in Arlington!? After making this discovery, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to pet and feed kangaroos just one hour from Seattle. A few days before visiting, we had messaged their Facebook page with a couple questions and received a response in a very timely manner; shout-out to the owners for their great communication! Guided tours are offered at 10:00A, 12:00P, 2:00P & 4:00P each day. On a Saturday, four of us arrived at the farm for their 12:00P tour. Right as we stepped out of the car, we were welcomed by the flock of roosters running about. The owners ask that visitors arrive 15 minutes early which allows time to pay for admission inside the gift shop and wait for the tour to begin. Admission is $15 for kids age 2 - 11, $25 for guests 12 - 64, and $10 for 65+. Don't miss the two exotic birds inside the gift shop: a Kookaburra with the pointiest beak I've ever seen and a very lively Cockatoo. I kept my distance especially since there was a sign noting that they bite, but they were cool to see up close! At the start of the tour, one of the guides gathered everyone by the lemur habitat, gave an intro and set the ground rules which can be summarized to no running, no yelling and no eating. The lemurs are so adorable and active. I had no idea that they enjoy eating banana peels! All guests were split into one of two groups, each led by a guide. Our group began at the kangaroo pens and we were handed apple leaves to feed them. There were several kangaroos lounging around and they were much more mellow than I expected. (While the enclosure does not appear huge at first glance, it actually extends further back past the point we were allowed.) We spent about 20 minutes here before we were led to an enclosure with an adorable (but shy) wallaby and a giant tortoise. Next up were donkeys and pygmy goats lined up against a low fence. It got quite crowded here as everyone was trying to squeeze in to feed and pet them. Beware, these guys will lick you for food! I turned away for a second and felt one of the donkeys licking my backpack with force. We then made our way to the fierce-looking emus and finally to an enclosure with alpacas and a llama. I was relieved to hear that they open the gates in the evening after tours so that the animals can roam around. While they are long days of four consecutive tours, it seems that the animals are well cared for and the owners are clearly passionate about their farm. I just wish that they limited the size of their tour groups, perhaps through a reservation system. There were not enough animals to share between all the guests and often the four of us ended up in the very back of the pack. For $25 per person, the one hour tour passes by very quickly and you don't get much personal time with the animals. We had fun, but I don't think it was the best value. Something needs to change... either they extend the length of the tours and reduce to a couple per day, better control the crowd or decrease the price of admission. Overall, it's still a unique experience. I loved every minute I spent with the friendly kangaroos and other furry friends! read more

Our neighbors told us about The Outback Kangaroo Farm knowing the immense excitement my 3 year old has around ALL animals. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to the final 4pm tour; be sure to check the website for tour times. Tickets are to be purchased at arrival, and are very reasonable. The owners are very friendly, and truly go over beyond for the continuous upkeep of the farm, and greatly care about the livestock dwelling within. I do recommend dressing very comfortably and wearing closed toe all terrain shoes so can trek through farm without any concern. My toddler could have spent the entire time feeding the Alpacas, and kangaroos. I was so surprised at how friendly all of the animals were to all guests (of all ages.) My son hasn't stopped telling everyone about his kangaroo friends. If you have little ones and are looking for fun activities definitely give this wonderful family farm a visit; I highly recommend!! read more

If you had a few kangaroos as pets, banged together a few pens out of scrap lumber and wire, let the roos breed a bit too much, then decided to give tours of your backyard to help pay the feed bills, you might end up with a place very much like this one. We visited on a whim when passing through the area. The tours are split into two halves, with the guides switching halfway through. The first half showed us a couple of llamas, plus two emus in a dark, muddy pen deep in the forest. Envision the kind of habitat where emus live in the wild and this was the exact opposite of that. For the second half, our guide was the owner of the facility. He appeared to be wearing pajamas and I think we'd just woken him up from a nap. He had been slapped by one of his kangaroos earlier in the day and had a massive, uncovered, raw, bleeding wound down his face and neck. He needed medical attention. He grouchily walked us through a few of his small wallaby pens and then delivered us to the gift shop, which was the best cared-for place on the tour. It cost $80 for our family of four to visit this farm two years ago, and I am still embarrassed that we paid money to support this business. I'm glad that the owner and a few young kids are make a living, but this place looks like kangaroo purgatory. Please, please do not support this business. Woodland Park Zoo has all the same animals that this place does, but they're ethically cared for and have room to move and grassy fields to play in. Go there. read more

It's a great place to bring kids and adults can have fun as well. I've never seen a kangaroo in a zoo let alone ever gotten so close to these beautiful animals. There aren't just kangaroos though. There are peacocks, wallabys, a tortoise, burros, alpacas, lemurs, and birds of many kinds. First impressions were that I was expecting the farm to be a bit bigger where they roos could spread out more but maybe the size that they have is supposed to be the right size. What do I know? I don't raise kangaroos. I found the lemurs to be quite fascinating. They're so fast and just jump all over the place and look around with their glistening bulbous eyeballs. They also look quite soft. You can't touch them though, just look from afar. The tour is about 30-45 minutes long and you are herded along in a group of about 15-25 people. There are 2-3 staff on hand to keep an eye on everyone to make sure no one gets too close with some of the animals or in order to intervene if the animals get too frisky. A lot of the roos like to just chill and lay out and some don't mind being touched or photographed. They also hop very fast so watch out and watch your kids. I would say watch your kids the whole time because sometimes kids can be a little rough with animals that are a bit apprehensive or they chase the animals which some of the animals don't like and could injure you if you get on their nerves. I thought the emus were pretty cool too back in their little cage in the distance. My favorites were the alpacas. They are soooooooooo soft even if they're freshly shorn. Their little lips are so cute too and they're just like big cuddly dogs. Dogs that kick if you touch them in the wrong spots. One thing that I felt a little bad about is that although most of the animals are used to interaction with the public, I personally was stressed out by all the kids running after the animals or so many people trying to touch the animals in such close spaces. I kind of wonder if the animals get stressed but maybe they don't care if they're getting food from you. Hehe. FYI: You don't really have a choice of which group you get placed with but they tickets are timed so you can always take a later time if you perhaps get stuck with a group of middle school students on a field trip. They do welcome you to take as many pictures are you like so bring your DSLR or whatever. read more

my boyfriend, sister, and i drove up to arlington from tacoma on a friday to visit this place and we had the best time. you do not need to buy a ticket in advance either. there are 4 different tour times so just show up about 10 minutes before the time slot you want so you can pay. the owners, a father and daughter, are incredibly friendly and will answer any questions you have. the tour is about 40-45 minutes and is interactive. the animals are very friendly, if they don't want attention they'll just walk away. but many walked right up to me just looking for a snack. there were young children in the group we were in and the animals are friendly with them too. make sure to wear shoes you do not care about or are water proof if you go anytime other than summer time. it is a farm so there are droppings and mud everywhere. the only reasons we could think of to not give 5 stars is if how slippery it is and not being given enough bread to feed the kangaroos. but these animals are being fed snacks 4 times a day so a large amount is not needed for them. read more

It is a very neat up close experience. We got to pet the red kangaroos, feed emus, and kiss llamas. l The tour guides were excellent, and made sure all the kids got a good experience. The peacocks and peahens roamed around freely. The lemurs jumped on the guides shoulders. We got to pet albino wallabies. These look like happy, well taken care of creatures. Amazing little gem in Arlington - who knew you could pet / feed kangaroos in Washington! No need to go down-unda at all to see these critters. To my surprise, they not only had kangaroos/wallabies... but emus, llamas, alpacas, peacocks, and lemurs. Keep in mind, this is a farm... so yes, there will be animal droppings all over the place and some areas will look dusty or smell odd. But again... IT'S A FARM. So yes, your clothes and shoes may get dirty or dusty.. but I think it was worth my $12 to interact with some unique creatures! We got there in the morning, so the animals were quite active - the lemurs are in an enclosure so you can't pet them, but they're quite funny to watch as the guide talks about the farm - they were climbing all over her trying to get the banana. The kangaroos and wallabies have an up-close experience. They'll give you leaves to feed and you can approach them to see if they'll take your leaves. However, they can be shy some try to keep your children in check - if they run away, don't chase after them! I was able to pet a lot of them too - super soft! One even tried eating a lady's hair - I consider her lucky for having a unique incident (she thought so too). The llama and emus you can't really pet because they're a little aggressive, but they have donkeys and alpacas that can be fed. In fact, they let you try feeding an alpaca with your mouth - just put the piece of food between your lips and have the alpaca grab it. It looks like they'll kiss you, but they're quite good at grabbing the food without touching your lips. I did it, twice, and survived... as in I didn't get sick the next day or anything. Such a fun experience! The only negative I can give is that they don't have bathrooms for visitors... only porto-potties. So if you're not used to using them, I suggest going beforehand. They do have a separate hand washing station, which I highly recommend after petting everything. I'm also a little surprised they don't have you sign legal waivers when it comes to interacting with the alpacas and other creatures... but again, just keep your children behaved so they don't frighten the animals. Sadly, I didn't get to ask why / how a kangaroo farm came to be in the middle of Arlington. read more

We live in Renton, WA and were in Arlington yesterday for a wedding. My Husband was apart of the bridal party so my kiddos and I had 4 hours to occupy our time. In looking at local activities we came across this cute place. I didn't even know it existed. The tour lasts 40 minutes, so overall plan on being here about an hour, if not on the tour there's not much you can do on your own so it's a nice activity for an hour, but not an all day thing. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We fed some of the animals and got to see a Momma kangaroo with a baby still in her pouch. We were told the baby will come out soon as the baby is 6 months old. Bring extra shoes as you will most likely walk out with poo on them. read more

They had an assortment of animals a. Llama, alpacas, miniature horse, emu, donkeys, roosters, lemurs and of course kangaroos! You're able to feed most animals. What I loved about this place was that my kido was able to pet/feed the farm animals. There is a 3star for that! In down side I feel it was too expensive for the experience we received. I personally won't go back there again. I am so sorry to have come here today. The three owners/workers do not wear masks outside; they don't wear masks inside for ticket sales/gift shop; and they sure as hell don't socially distance. Customers are not asked to wear masks or socially distance. At one point, we were told to line up shoulder to shoulder along a fence in order to feed the llamas. I kid you not. They say they "can't access their website", and so you will see their prices have gone up significantly "due to Covid". A la Tiger King, they breed their kangaroos and wallabies (price of a designer dog -- I asked). This Farm was in the news recently when a recently-sold 8 month old kangaroo still drinking milk got loose out of a van from which it was being stored...it was let out for a potty break and hopped off. It was found the next day, but in very bad shape and may not survive...this makes me think they will sell to just anyone. The place is in some disrepair. There is a rotting jacuzzi in the middle of one of the animal living areas. The kangaroos -- there was a sad and dazed vibe to them. The father and daughter alternating tour guides -- I found them to not be friendly at all -- they seemed annoyed by the last tour of the day and rushed through important safety tips (such as where to pet the llama, and how to approach a kangaroo). A non-native English-speaking family of 5 inadvertently chased the small albino kangaroo only to be scolded, "I told you not to chase them". Children and non-native English speakers can not make out the rushed verbage. I hope by the time they reopen in the Spring or Summer, that changes are made here. read more

I missed the opportunity to visit the farm last season so I'm glad I had a chance to go with a big group this time around. For groups of 15 or more you can get a discount on admission. During the 40 minute tour you will learn about the specific animals in that section and have the opportunity to feed them (animal food is provided). I was most excited about the kangaroos but they were probably my least favorite part of the tour. Most of them were either lying around or far away. We were able to see a baby joey go in and out of it's mothers pouch which was pretty cool. After the tour there isn't much to do on the farm so be sure to have some other activities planned in the area. You can bring only a water bottle on the tour. There are picnic tables near the front if you want to bring your own food to eat before/after. read more

Such a neat experience ! I stumbled upon this farm after I saw another friend take her kids here and I am so happy we took our son here the next day. This is a family owned and ran farm and you can tell the owners love the animals and the kids. I can see some people complaining about the prices, sure you pay half the price at the woodland park zoo but you can't even see those animals. Here we were able to pet and interact with all the animals. We were also not rushed, my kid was thrilled to pet the kangaroos and alpacas. I can't wait to go back, it's worth the drive and the money. read more

This was the most fun I've had in a long time! Really fun place. I got all my questions answered and got to interact with all the animals they had! There were a lot of little baby chicks and Joeys and baby peacocks and everything. I was really impressed at how clean the entire facility was, especially considering how many animals were there. It's super well organized and really worth it. I would be willing to pay more than the $12 they're currently charging to go on the tour. Definitely worth it. 100%. I don't know how they've managed to have most of their animals be very child friendly. Lots of kids feeding animals that are at least 5 times their size and 10 times their weight! Very safe. This petting farm is super cool and such a fun place to visit for kids and adults alike. This is the real deal with live animals, poop on the ground, and barnyard like stench. The good thing is the animals are not inside barns but are out in the open inside their cages or fenced area. It's definitely not for folks who are sensitive to smell, but if you like animals and getting up close and personal with them, it's totally worth the visit. We got to see a kookaburra, a cockatoo, a macaw (noisy lil' bugger--scared the heck out me), a bunch of chickens and roosters and peacocks nonchalantly walking around out in the front/picnic area. There are lemurs, a golden red pheasant, a big fat rabbit that can get up to 50lbs, a lot of kangaroos and a few wallabies and wallaroos. The guide will take the group inside the fence in their living quarters and allow you to feed them with leaves which they provide. We also saw a mother duck with her ducklings and a tortoise just basking out on the sun. Next the guide took us to feed the goats, donkey with these greenish pellet food. After that we went to see Oreo the biting mini horse. Please don't get too close. Stay behind the hose! Oreo was very responsive to the guide nodding and neighing when she asked some questions. We then walked over to the pair of Emus (which are from Austarilia). The guide told a story about them but I didn't really pay attention because my son and daughter were getting tired and antsy so I had to retreat to the next section where there was a llama and two alpacas. This was the last section of the tour and was great to pet them and feed them with those greenish pellet food again. Be careful to not pet the llama on the back or it will kick you and if the kick isn't enough, it will spit on you. Oh before you leave you can buys some stuffed animals, trinkets, books, memorabilia, souvenirs, etc at the front store. We bought a refrigerator magnet because that's what we do. That's all folks!
