Securis Technologies managed an electronics recycling event in Loudoun County on Saturday, May 18, 2024. I made use of this event to recycle some old electronics I had around the house. I have to say that the Securis staff had the participant flow orderly, efficient and moving quickly through each of the recycling steps. I found the staff to be helpful, courteous and very pleasant, making this a fun event as well as an important one ecologically. Thanks to the Securis team and the company for a job well done. Wow! They are the worst, how is it possible that the facilities are using this so called service? Yall knew someone to get this account huh? There is no possible way of talking to an actual human. They take your money and once your card is on there they continue to make withdraws without your permission. But hey wait 72 hours and you can open an account, you can request a refund and is supposed to get back to you. Account- took 6 days, not 72 hours. Request a refund- not happening, they refuse to give money back. You just forfeit funds. Someone getting back to you- 6 days and still waiting. It's unfortunately the weekend however monday, will be calling the BBB. I know they don't care at all but, something truly needs to be done about all this. Can not talk to your loved ones during this time. Just as long as they get access to your money. Glad yall can sleep well at night knowing you are stealing peoples money. There is nothing but problems with this app/company. Half the time the video connect doesn't work. They won't refund you for their system errors. It app is extremely slow and crashes all the time. It is impossible to get someone on the phone and when you do they can not assist with anything. The customer service reps have zero knowledge on anything to do with the app or the video calling. I am unable to add money to my advance connect because their system glitched and all the dense girl on the phone would say is that I have to wait 24 hours and try again. Like most people/systems within the prison world, they purposely do things to make families lives harder. They care about making money and that's it. Rude customer service by a woman other than the name jen. It is not done. Didn't get the name of the person with whom I spoke. Told her I was getting an error message when trying to purchase stamps and was told that she told me multiple times upon telling me once that there platform isn't designed to add the four-year digit to sign in when Auto refill only does the last two digits. Rude, and patient, gave me a literal headache, when I told her she was being snippy, snapped back that she was not! There's no supervisor or anybody to complain to. Literally everything on this app needs improvement! It's not easy to use, there's no free communication between you and your loved ones-it costs more to send an email on this app than to write the inmate a letter. The video calls are a joke. You pay $4 and some change to see and speak with your loved one for "25 minutes". Lies! There was a 5 minute delay after I logged into the session, the volume is terrible (so low it's almost inaudible) and the call dropped 3x. After the call disconnected for the 3rd time I was unable to say goodbye. The final call drop happened with 10 minutes of my session remaining. I only got 10 minutes (maybe) not 25. Video calls are $4+, postage stamps vary in price from $1.25-12.50 plus a $3 processing fee. It cost me $6 to send one email and there are character limitations. If you go over the limited number of characters you'll have to purchase an additional stamp. Also, why do we need to buy stamps if we're sending an email? Can you say SCAM?! It's a shame that some counties like mine refuse physical mail and make it impossible to see your loved ones in person so you're forced to use these horrible apps that are just a money grab. Just a horror show of a company. Customer service provides different answers to same question whenever you call. Their support phone tree is a mess, and email support is no better. They told me I had to submit a document to them but their system does not allow you to attach a PDF! I have been trying for months to get an issue resolved for an attorney I work for without luck. I don't know how this company managed to corner the prison industry market on communications solutions for incarcerated people and their attorneys, family members, etc, but man alive, they should be put out business, permanently. Upon setting up an account with 'Securtech' I found the process confusing, not very clear in both the instructions and the registering of the 'special number'. I paid the $49.98 for their 3-month plan, which is supposed to "put an end to costly per minute inmate calling". "There are no hidden fees and no extra charges to surprise you". "3 month plan is a one time charge of $49.98 and activation fee". We've not been able to use this service except for a 'free 60 second' call. The 'special number' was attempted to call me once more, only to be notified that a credit card was necessary to add time to accept the call. If there were no 'hidden/surprise fees', why am I being prompted to add more money??? Speaking to customer service, aka "Agent 6", I was told that she had to forward the request for a FULL refund, but would likely be charged $19.99 cancellation fee. 4 hours ago This is the worse service ever. I shouldn't have to call in after almost every call to get a credit because the facility has issues. This is a BIG inconvenience but I won't spend my money on the video calls anymore. The last 2 sessions this week have been horrible. I waited on the phone over 14 minutes then hung up on Monday. I called in and they told me it looks like I missed the visit. What kind of crap is that? Today our service ended with a little over 5 minutes left. I waited to see if he would call back in and I dropped with a minute left. I called customer service and was told they see the call was completed. I am still waiting on my "credit" from Monday and I was told I have to put in another request form so they can "research" . At this point, I think they literally are just taking customers money. There is no way you have a system and can not tell which party connected and which did not and when a call was dropped. Don't waste your money on video calls. Dozens of attempts to utilize their Customer Service Chat feature have been futile, since Securus incorporates lowest grade AI-agent in their support Chat feature, only allowing 6-preset questions that each have one automated response. Ask the AI for a human customer care representative? The 'AI-agent' is just a simple algorithm path which provides a link that just takes you back to the beginning of the same AI chat. Unfortunately, for thousands of users who are subject to this communications monopoly which has been positioned by correctional facilities as a barrier to connect with their loved ones. No.. NO and noooo... Trying to set up an account took me 2-3 hours. The online process kept saying my account was created but when trying to log in it kept saying my usernam/pw was incorrect. Calling trying to set up an account was a total disaster. After 2-3 hours of waiting for a receptionist on the phone, I was finally able to get my account set up. Now, they blocked my account saying I need to provide proof of my phone bill in order to unblock my account, but they already took my deposit to receive calls. Smh.. This company is a lying sack of crap. Dallas (TX) County was SMART to drop them for a new company. Too bad TDCJ hasn't done it...yet. I made quite a few deposits before my daughter could even use the phone. First one was on 11-16-25. Two of my $25 deposits (11-16-25 and 11-21-25) never even showed up on her account, even though they were charged to my credit card. I sent Securus a message because I thought I used the wrong # (facility ID rather than my daughter's ID on first deposit), they confirmed receipt at 4:01 am on 11-17-25 and assigned a case #. I sent another message on 11-21-25 at 7:34 pm. No response. Sent another one at 11:58 am on 12-4-25 to advise of the second $25 that never posted to her account. No response via email or phone or anything else. I contacted my bank 24 hours later to put those two $25 charges in dispute because Securus did NOTHING. They have now disabled my new account with my daughter that was started with a transfer of funds from my Dallas County acct with them. Tonight the customer service rep I spoke to said I have to repay that $50 before I can have an account so my daughter can call me. My daughter didn't even have phone privileges for two weeks...so how could she have "spent" all the money I deposited and Securus received (dates & amounts per cc/bank: 11-18-25 $15; 11-22-25 $25; 11-30-25 $25; 12-1-25 $25; 12-5-25 $10; 12-8-25 $5; 12-9-25 $2; 12-10-25 $2.50; 12-11-25 $1.50; 12-11-25 $2.75; the two $25 charges that I disputed are not included in this list). I got my first official call from her (at Plane State Jail) on 11-27-25. She has no idea where her funds are going/have gone...that's why I started making "little" deposits in case her funds were being stolen/re-routed. During our talk, she was both unprofessional and uncourteous. She called me back twice and both times hung up on me. I explained that my husband and I were experience numerous problems during our phone calls. ISSUES: There were and are numerous fail calls and call drops that we are being charged for the full 30 minutes, the microphone is barely transmitting, noise distortion making it unbearable to communicate, most calls are routed though Egypt or Turkey and there are problems connecting. We have spend hundreds of dollars monthly only to enjoy a few calls. We are entitled to credit. After I spoke with your representative, our calls were repeatedly disconnected after a few minutes of talking. Now, I am not receiving his calls. It seems she has vindictively severed our connection without just cause. I asked her for assistance to correct the problem, she made matters worse.
