100% recommend doing media transfer with Jorge. Here's why-- I was really nervous to potentially ruin my family VHS tapes by trying to transfer them to digital media (usb/c). I really wanted to talk with someone and not just ship them off to an online company. Jorge sat down with me to explain the process and was so thorough and kind. I trusted him with ten childhood VHS tapes from the 80s-90s, including my parent's wedding video. He transferred them to digital media in 1 week, was communicative, fairly priced, and the results are awesome! In seconds I can now access memories I haven't seen in over 15 years. My parents both cried seeing their parents and wedding video. Definitely going to be back with more videos. Thank you Jorge! read more

5 stars isn't enough for Jorge! What started as me wanting to digitize my own baby photos turned into a full-blown family epidemic. I showed the scanned photos to my parents, which led to my aunts and uncles digging through attics, closets, and mystery boxes that probably hadn't been opened since the 1980s. Suddenly everyone wanted their photos, VHS tapes, and family memories digitized. The reason I trusted Jorge with all of it is simple: he actually cares. When I first handed over my old photo albums, I was nervous. Some of these photos are literally one-of-a-kind family memories. I had visions of someone ripping apart albums, feeding everything into a giant industrial scanner, hitting "Start," and hoping for the best. That is NOT Jorge. He carefully disassembled the albums, handled each photo with incredible care, and made sure everything was scanned properly. You can tell he understands that these aren't just pieces of paper--they're irreplaceable family memories. The attention to detail was obvious from the beginning. One of the coolest surprises was when he digitized my wife's old VHS tapes and handheld camcorder videos from the late 1980s. We were able to watch footage of her as a little kid playing the violin at around 5 years old--something I had never seen before, and something the family had completely forgotten even existed. Watching those videos decades later was equal parts heartwarming, hilarious, and priceless. The timing ended up being incredibly fortunate. I completed this project before the Eaton Fire. When the fires happened, I realized I wasn't worried about losing decades of family photos and videos because everything had already been digitized and safely backed up. That peace of mind alone was worth every penny. Jorge is trustworthy, meticulous, and genuinely passionate about preserving memories. What I thought would be a simple photo-scanning project ended up reconnecting my family with moments we didn't even remember we had. If you have old albums, VHS tapes, camcorder recordings, slides, or boxes of family photos sitting around, call Jorge. Just be warned: once your relatives see the results, they'll start showing up at your house with their own boxes of stuff for him to digitize too. Highly recommended. read more

We used secure media transfer for some of our family memories. I don't often refer unless the service was Amazing. Especially something as important as this... that cannot be replaced. Jorge was professional and the end result was everything and more. Look no further. A+++ read more

Jorge was a life saver. I wanted a retirement slide show, and I was under a time crunch. I tried to send photos from my smart phone to a computer and then to my niece's computer. I didn't get very far being the computer illiterate person that I am. I found Jorge from Yelp. He downloaded my photos to his computer and then synched up three songs that I had chosen beforehand. The fees were reasonable. Best of all, I was under a deadline and Jorge had it ready the next day. In general, like my travel agaent, I prefer personal specialized service rather than any type of mill. Finally, his experience and suggestions are noteworthly. You will be very satisfied! read more

I'm super happy with the results of Jorge's work. I needed a twenty year old VHS converted to a digital file and finally made the move after I heard cassettes deteriorate over time. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He explained everything in non-technical language, and I felt at ease handing him my video. His turnaround time was fast, his hours were very flexible, he was super responsive via phone or text from beginning to end. He formatted my video into a digital file and saved it to a my USB stick so that I can plug it directly into a TV and play it. I can also copy, transfer or play the file with any computer. The video and audio quality were excellent. I was really pleased with the price too. His office is in downtown Sierra Madre. It was easy to find and parking in front was super convenient. There's also so many cool places to visit while you're there. Highly recommend. read more

Jorge is a terrific human being and does truly excellent work. My father recently passed away and I realized it was time to transfer a treasure trove of approx. 40 reels of original 16mm, 8mm and Super8 home movies that were filmed by my dad between 1941 -1977 and given to me by him 25 years ago. Taken as a whole, these are a visual history of a bygone generation of my family and the lives they lived and it felt important to create a digital record for my living family members and the generations to come. I could tell just by a visual inspection that some of the film wasn't in great shape and I was extremely nervous to hand over the originals to just anyone - given that if anything happened to the material, there was no way to replace it. After doing exhaustive research of the companies in Los Angeles who transfer original film in this format, I narrowed the list down to Secure Media Transfer. I reached out to Jorge on a Friday night and by the next day, I had an appointment to meet with him. He was so respectful of the film and spent an hour explaining the process in detail, alerting me to potential issues he could see, calculated the price right in front of me (and gave me a discount based on footage) and shared a bit about what motivated his love of film, the job he does and record-keeping. I decided to trust him - and I was not disappointed. He reached out to me several times while he was doing the work - to present workarounds for issues he discovered and when it was time to pick up the finished product, he sat with me and went through the transferred footage on his computer, pointing out the various workarounds we had discussed (and generously made transfers of both the original AND the workaround) and answered any questions I had. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome or experience. Thank you Jorge! You will always be my go-to for film transfer. read more

Jorge was so helpful & such a pleasure to work with! I brought in 12 old tapes that I needed to be transferred to a usb and he got them done in 2 days! The process was so easy and straight forward. I would recommend him to everyone! We are so happy we are able to watch our old home videos again. Thanks again Jorge! read more

I highly recommend Jorge for any digitization you may want to do. I found Jorge on Google, and after reading everyone's positive experiences with him, I decided to go with his services. Jorge helped digitize about 10+ hours worth of my family video tapes, including the births of my brother and I. It was especially important for my parents to have these in hand, and with Jorge's help, I was able to give it to them in a matter of days. He also gave me (I am brashly Gen Z) a quick background on what VHS tapes were, haha, which I found memorable. Jorge walks you through the whole process, and I appreciated his transparency in not only his services, but his pricing as well. I also found his quick turnaround time amazing; the care that he puts into his work is equally, if not more, impressive. He's also such a personable individual, and extremely kind. He reviewed with me all of the files together before handing it to me to make sure we were both happy with the end product. I think Jorge's business is a great reminder why small businesses are so integral to our community. He's someone who cares about his work, and I appreciate the soul that he puts into his business. After doing a brief cost analysis, his pricing is quite competent in relativity to what big box retailers offer for digitization services. I would choose Jorge in an instant, should I need to have more tapes digitized. I highly, highly recommend! read more

I was looking for someone who could transfer a 50 year old super 8mm reel to digital and found this company on line. We had to place my mother in law in hospice and we didn't know it would happen. Given the situation, we wanted to have this done ASAP for us and family. As soon as talked to Jorge I knew we were in good hands. We set up an appointment to meet in his office and he it done by the next day. Not only was he attentive and reliable, he really is a good guy. My mother in just passed away, 2 days after he delivered. Jorge really came through for our family. By the looks of his office, I could see we were not alone. There were scores of different media of cherished moments entrusted to him. I was so pleased with Jorge that I went back and had our Maui Wedding video and pictures converterd from disc to digital. Jorge, keep up the good work my friend. read more

I highly recommend Secure Media Transfer to preserve your most precious memories. I had been wanting to digitize cassette tapes my grandfather sent me nearly 30 years ago, but I was nervous about sending them to a faceless, big-name company (and even trusting that they would arrive there safely in the mail). It was such a blessing finding a local business that offers personalized attention. Jorge clearly knows what he's doing and is also extremely personable. He answered all of my questions and assuaged my concerns. Will definitely be going back for future projects. read more

Jorge was excellent to work with. I went in to transfer 10+ 8mm tapes as a Christmas gift for my mom. He treated my younger brother and I with professional respect that we really appreciated. I expected a week turnaround but Jorge and his team got the job done over the weekend! I picked the everything up for a great value compared to other places I looked at. He even edited the tapes into clear files for ease of access. He's a real stand up guy and quick to respond! I will definitely be recommending him to family and friends if they ever need the same service. read more

Jorge of Secure Media Transfer is the absolute best. He made this process seamless and enjoyable. Jorge transferred media from the 1960's all the way to the 1990's on to easy to use USB sticks. He made several copies for me to send to family in Europe and Australia. He even made clever clips for me to use on my company's social media platforms. I'm so thankful, and I have lots more to come. read more

Secure Media Transfer did a fantastic job of digitizing a huge number of my color slides (circa 1955-1985), enabling me to preserve these priceless family memories. Moreover, the digital versions were very-high resolution and fully retained the color vibrance and saturation, as well as the clarity of the originals. In addition, I had reel-to-reel tapes from the 1960s and 1970s digitized, and the fidelity was excellent. In all cases, the originals were returned to me in exactly the same condition as when I dropped them off. I would recommend Secure Media Transfer for all your digitizing needs. read more

Note - this review is strictly on customer service. Jorge was awesome about getting back to me promptly. When the media I gave him was a different version than I originally told him, he was kind enough to let me know my mistake. He didn't charge me after I offered to pay for his time. So impressed and will recommend him to everyone I can. read more

My father was a prolific photographer -- I found several thousand slide carousels in "my old bedroom" last time I visited, dating back to the 1950s. My dad had digitized some of them over the years himself, and he sort of insisted he could do them all, but I took them home and gave them to Jorge. In less than a week, I had them back -- and they look SO good! Even my father admitted I made the right choice. :) I'd work with SecureMediaTransfer again any time. read more

For many years I collected many precious hours of my kids growing up from their infant time to their young and lovely growth. Most of my recordings were done on an old fashion video cam tape (which was the best gadget I purchased in 2002) however these videos became somewhat a burden to watch with all the recent technology boom...due to my armature taping skills I managed to video record my tapes on two different modes which made it somewhat encumbers for video "editors" to transfer the content to a digital format and I tried couple of sources which they couldn't help me until one day I saw Jorge's add on FB at a glance I overlooked his promo, however, few weeks passed by and I saw the same promo from his page which attracted my attention and at once I decided to contact him and explain to him my "dilemma" and boy was I glad to do it...he took my tapes for over 25 hours and transferred the content to digital form however, he also made sure that I have a backup in case the original storage gets damaged. The biggest jubilation was when my wife and the kids were able to watch years of precious memories with clear video and audio...my kids are 19 & 15 today and they kept watching their clownish act for weeks. Without Jorge's help I could have not enjoy these memories with my family. Thank you Jorge for the great job you did and thank you for the effort and advise you provided me to get this done. read more

My family had a really old VHS videotape (circa 1984?) that included video of many long-departed members of our family. This was the only copy that we had and it was in pretty bad shape. Jorge was able to transfer this memory to a DVD so that we could revisit this moment in history. It was worth using Jorge rather than going to a local service because he cares as much about our memories as we do! read more

My son is graduating high school this year and I decided to use this milestone as an opportunity to digitize our family movies. What a wonderful experience! My kids got to see our wedding video. They didn't recognize us with no gray hair and wrinkles :). One of the most precious moments was seeing their reaction as they watched interactions with their grandfather who passed when they were very young. Jorge was very accommodating and easy to work with. He even finalized my movies which I hadn't done. Thank you Jorge for giving us the chance to relive our memories. read more

Jorge is one great editor!!! I was introduced to Jorge by a DP who I had worked on a film, commercial work and on my own television projects. I was putting together a presentation DVD for a television project of mine for The Discovery Channel. Being "old school" I had always sat next to my editor and guided them shot by shot. Jorge said that I could be in the comfort of my own home in front of my computer to view his editing. Being sixty miles away I thought I would give it a try. I was truly surprised on how easy, convenient and efficient it was. I gave him my previously shot DVD, gave him the IN and OUT times of what I wanted and in a couple of days I had a finished product. He added some great graphics and I ended up with a presentation DVD that I was extremely proud to show to Discovery. I highly recommend Jorge and on my next project I will be calling once again for his talent. David read more
