Came here on Saturday after renting a 5x6 unit "sight unseen" using thier NSA online process. $51 or so was a decent deal. Went to space on Saturday, sign on office said "We will be back in office in two days". First impression as I fiddle with the gate code was the piles of trash all around the facility sorting through one of the piles was a homeless couple depositing things to from a shopping cart into one of the piles on the ground outside of the door to a space. They had two pit bulls on long ropes wandering around them. As I drove to search for my space, I found another homeless person digging through some trash outside of another locked space . Found my room on the second floor with only outside access via a small, narrow stairway. Immediately called NSA and canceled my rental. Of course there was no return of any money whatsoever, including the initial administration fee. Although NSA apologized, they said they would have the site manager give me a call. I received an email asking for me to call them. I did and talked to a man and all he said was I'll look into who the homeless folks were. No offer to return any funds for my rental, even though I didn't even open the door to the space. Also, the fact that the office that was supposed to be staffed to assist new renters wasn't staffed all, thus preventing a new renter walkthrough, was not mentioned. My "ask" to have them refund my rental was denied. My overall impression of this storage space is its seedy, unclean and in a very rough area of town. I ended up getting more expensive but much nicer space down the road. Renter beware.... read more

Oh and UPDATE: they sent my past due balance to a collection agency and ruined my credit, even though they sold all of my personal items at a profit. They responded to this review to say that it's my responsibility to keep my contact information up to date, but I did! I called their front desk several times and talked to several people about my dilemma. Not once did they "work" with me, warn me about my stuff going up for auction, not one word other than: "that's fine. I'll make a note that you'll be in to pay it" If they knew I was having a hard time with payments and they knew that I was trying to get there and they knew I had called several times, they should have mentioned ANY of those times that my things were going to be sold off. They didn't. Because this is how they stay in business. Evil! Stay away from this place! read more

For the price I'd say it's fine but the infrastructure is kinda old and shotty. The doors to the units are not that well secured and I don't believe the units are air conditioned. There are no interior lights on the units. The place is locked and you need a combo to enter so I would venture to say it's safe it's just not the most modern facility. read more

Lots of rat droppings everywhere in my storage unit and they even managed to get in my boxes. There was trash left in the hallways for weeks before it got picked up. Second gate is closed for some reason so it's inconvenient. 50% chance of the elevator working when you need it to. Main problem is the pest, make sure you wrap up your boxes and appliances real good. Building is overall just old and rundown. I'll post pictures later. read more

This facility and it's employees do not care about you our your things. My friend has rented a unit here for over a year and today he went to move things out and into a new apartment. He came in to find a new lock on the unit that was not his and could not open. When asking the manager on duty they could not explain why there as a new lock and upon further inspection found that the unit had been broken into and things stolen. The facility never called or reached out in any way to let my friend know that his unit had been broken into and tried to cover it up by putting another lock. Other units also looked to be tampered with. Cameras only show the doors into and out of the block and the facility. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS FACILITY. read more

The property is old and run down, especially noticeable inside the units. Things like gates and elevators are often out of service for surprisingly lengthy periods -- ownership is clearly not spending any money on the property, but to the unfortunate detriment of their customers. The saving grace is manager Jose, who is an absolute delight to work with, kind and patient, always available and ready to help wherever he can. Needed a storage unit pretty fast. I came here asking questions and was shown several sizes. David was extremely nice and asking me questions about the sizes I may need, the locations of the several sized units and let me pick which one I wanted. The pricing was actually better here than at some of the other places I was looking at. I was specifically informed about the gate hours so I laugh at those reviews stating that they were locked in. Duh! I do recommend this place and I do advise everyone to read the signs posted. If you are looking for a 24hr entry place, this is NOT the place. I love the grace period for paying your monthly bill as sometimes I had been out of town and did not have to worry about a late fee. Overall, yes, I would use this storage place again if I needed to again. read more

Before I got stuck in there, several other times I had entered my code between 645 and 700 and got out. Recently, I entered my code at 647 pm, 650 pm and 653 pm and the gate opened every time. There was a glitch due to daylight savings time and I am out $92. read more

I came to StorAmerica because I needed space for my stuff before moving for the military. They were very nice and helpful when I called inquiring about prices. They had the 10x10 unit that I wanted and even had a few to show me. I liked that I had the opportunity to be shown the units by someone and was aloud to choose which one I wanted. They are very considerate about your monthly payments. They offer a 10-day grace period and offer multiple ways to make your payment. If you plan on being out of your unit before the 15th of the month they are happy to prorate your bill for you (I definitely appreciated this!). What I appreciated the most was that when I was having issues with the military and the date they planned to move my stuff, the staff was considerate of my situation. At StorAmerica they are definitely there to help you, not just get money in their pocket. My mother-in-law also has a unit with StorAmerica in Temecula and she has only had good things to say about her unit and the service she has received as well. If you want to find an affordable storage unit with a helpful and considerate staff, StorAmerica should definitely be your first choice! :) read more

In my search for a small storage unit, I went to StorAmerica and was greeted by a very nice young man (Brian), who gave me as much time as I needed, showed me around the facility and answered all of my questions. I scheduled the unit, and when I went back to move in, I was more than happy. Jordan took very good care of us, we secured the unit, and we were able to borrow their truck to move in. I couldn't improve on this experience, she was kind, fast and efficient. I found severe damage to a box of pictures, paper, financials box. Termites had eaten 5 inches from them bottom into the middle. I was horrified. What else had they eaten into. There was also a dead mouse, lizard and dropping and Bugs I could not identify. Since I was unable to move my items by myself and it was not in my plans I asked for help from the management as it was obviously a pest problem out of my control. After much discussion and pleading and speaking to someone who was in charge of multiple location the offer went from we'll give you a unit 1 ft bigger at no extra charge but you can not file an insurance claim That we have forced you to pay nine dollars a month for the last three years for (gee thanks) to... we'll move your stuff to the bigger unit, 1 free months rent but you can not file a claim. They were unwilling to negotiate a reasonable offer. I had absolutely no idea what damage I would find. It was just short of blackmail, absolutely ridiculous. I even told them I felt the damage was localized over a large crack in the floor but they held firm and said I couldn't have my cake and eat it too. I refuse to deal with a company That cannot act in good faith. I paid to have my items removed and went to a new beautiful clean parasite rodent free location where I was given a free months rent to move in. read more

The ABSOLUTE worst place! had my items there for only 3 weeks and my storage unit got broken into!!! Not once but twice. Told the onsite manager, he automatically got super defensive and not at all willing to help, he could care less. Pretty sure he was in on it, because all the sudden the cameras cant see that far down. But yet they tell you this place is very secure, how?? I have been with StorAmerica Oceanside for about five years. I have always had exceptional customer service, the property is clean, and they allow you to use their moving truck on your initial move in. Mr. Rodrigo is always helpful; whenever he sees me struggling with my things he makes sure I have access to one of those metal carts. The grounds are quiet, its not overcrowded like other storage facilities I have been acquainted with, where people are blocking access and you can't get around them. Our appliances were ruined by rodent damage--in fact, we found a dead mouse in our washing machine, and rodent feces in our refigerator, dryer, and washing machine. Everything was ruined. The company definitely handled the situation poorly and demonstrated a complete lack of concern for the problem. I would not recommend this place. read more
