Just got yelled at and told I was not able to access my storage unit at 9:45pm. Gate closes at 10pm. I needed to get something out of my unit. The lady was on her apartment balcony over looking the gate and told me I was not allowed to access the unit. She said I should be leaving at 9:45, not coming in. I argued until she finally allowed me in. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I will be switching to a different storage soon. Rediculous. read more

Nobody Available During Working Hours & Bad Policies Last weekend, my company asks me to visit a storage unit they have been renting for almost two years, maybe longer. Nobody's opened the unit in all that time. It's been so long that they don't even know if we have the right key. The key I have fails to open the lock on the unit, so I go ask the manager for help opening the garage. A paper on the door says: The front office is closed during working hours for a meeting and staff, will be back at 3:30 PM. I find and follow a staff person who has been ignoring my door knocks. He looks bothered: he says he can't help me and doesn't know why the manager's gone nor when he'll be back. After waiting at the door, I leave for lunch. When I return, the door's still locked even though they should be back by now. It's 4:30 PM and the sign says they should have been back at 3:30 PM. While waiting, I see other people try to talk to someone with no success. I consider hiring a locksmith. Finally the manager shows up. I'm so relieved! Until he says he can't help me and will make it difficult for me if I use a locksmith to open my company's garage. If the company won't let me open the garage without complicating things for me because it's "against the rules," then there should be rules that guarantee someone is available by phone or in person during working hours--or at the time they themselves say they will be back, according to a paper on the door. read more

I can't say enough how disgusting this facility is. If we didn't need a full crew with PPE to get our stuff out, we would have done it long ago. Unfortunately we can't afford the thousands of dollars it would take to hire a full crew to empty our unit yet so we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If you don't want hantavirus, DO NOT store your things here! Our whole life's worth of belongings and heirlooms, ruined and with zero ZERO help from the facility management. Nothing but attitude and difficulty, even as we tried to address issues from overseas. Terrible customer service, terrible people, terrible facility. And they had the nerve to raise our monthly fee even after they raised it post-promo period (which was well after we first brought up the infestation that they never helped with beyond giving us ONE SINGLE sticky mouse trap). read more

Great last min storage! Helpful and gave me great service! Had the storage for a year!

¡¡¡RATS RATS RATS RATS!!! HORRIBLE! My whole unit is infested with rats. I have feces and urine on all my stuff. I have two kids under 4 years old and all their "firsts" are in there. I have two heirloom seats from my deceased grandmother. Everything has been destroyed. Where there's poop, there's pee, and the pee is irreversible. I understand things happens, but they're also moving at a snails pace and being non communicative. It's been 2 months since I submitted my claim and the response has been trash. They're also STILL charging me my monthly fees while the "investigation" is in progress. That's $380 paying for piss and poop soaked stuff that I'll have to throw away in the end anyway. I haven't been able to move out or throw all the stuff away yet because I travel for a living, but I'm home for a minute now and that's about to change. Handling this claim has been a long and annoying nightmare that I feel no confidence will work out in our favor. I highly recommend you keep searching and DO NOT go with this place. read more

This is the WORST storage unit to rent from it's a total rip-off it's RAT INFESTED put my equipment in the storage and less than a month it's was a RAT nest an insurance claim was filed since November I have over $2000 in damages and I was told that the insurance company only pays $500 for RAT damages that's CRAZY my Electronic's and other stuff was badly damaged it's now March and I still haven't received the check for $500 they charge you so much money monthly and it's like playing a CAT and MOUSE game with them to get your money. All that craziness with the RATS and you still gotta put up with a RUDE and ARROGANT manager the guy that's the manager is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE he told me there's no way for me to contact the insurance company by phone or any other method to check status on the claim and he doesn't have any phone number to call them either I'm like this is RIDICULOUS. The young lady by the name of Melissa acts more like a MANAGER than the guy she goes The EXTRA mile and always always have a pleasant personality I'll be posting pictures and videos of the RAT HORROR all that money they charge people monthly for storage and not doing anything EFFECTIVE for the RAT INFESTATION they supposedly have some company do treatment for RATS but they do the basic very basic treatment the owner really needs to do BETTER bcuz it's a ripoff to charge people all that money and late fees yet our ITEMS are not safe people pay a lot of money for their items we should be reimbursed APPROPRIATELY for the items and not what that RIPOFF insurance company wanna pay people I'm gonna do my research and find out how to get the city or someone else involved to hold this company ACCOUNTABLE for their business they need to closthis place and treat all units individual and make the necessary repairs to stop the RAT INFESTATION read more

Prices seem out of control. Once you move stuff in they know they have you over a barrel and seem to stick it to us as often as possible. Think twice before choosing a storage facility. each time ownership changes the prices go up again and again. Half the size of a garage at the price of a small house. read more

I have a unit there, my friend across my unit told me he found a rat in his. So I decided to go through some of my boxes, sure enough their were in my things. I didn't go through my whole storage because it was a lot for me. I put my claim in. Took them almost a year and they are offering me $ It's about right. But now they want me to sign and agree, which is saying that if there is more damage to more of my things I can not put another claim. I pay Insurance on my unit can they do that? That would also mean that why would I pay anymore Insurance if it's not going to cover anymore, right. read more

We've been customers for over 20 years. This facility is competitively priced, clean, friendly and very helpful.

I was looking for a storage facility in my local area. After looking at a few places I came across this place. The facilities themselves are kept clean. Highly secured with security systems all over. You need to punch in And out with your own password every time, which I love. Good way to record who was there and at what time. The staff is also pretty friendly. Zero complaints about anything. read more

This review has been a long time coming. Universal Self Storage is one of the best storage facilities in Corona. When a friend of mine had to relocate we were on the hunt for reasonable storage units. We searched high and low and began to become a little discouraged with the major players such as public storage and then we saw this jewel off the 15 freeway. It was a dream come true. The woman who assisted us was so pleasant and understood our needs and provide competitive pricing for a 10X20 unit. Universal Storage really made moving such a wonderful experience and the different perks they offer is the icing on the cake. So check them out! read more

All my belongings was covered in RAT dropping & pee! I even had 4 DEAD RATS in my unit!!!!! So discussing! The stuff here are rude & didn't do anything to resolve the issue! I had to basically throw all my belongings away because of contamination! Do not rent a storage unit here unless you like rat dropping & pee read more

They only answer the phone after they have gouged you with late fees even when you are 1 day late. If I didn't have a bad back I'd relocate my junk. Horrible...horrrible new management. read more

Stay away! Under new management. Fees mysteriously have gone up, and your payment date has changed. Required to pay my next months payment before the due date. The old management used to be nice and friendly, miss them. Go somewhere else!!! My last month there! They don't even deserve a star read more

As others have indicated, mysterious price increases without any warning. Price increase of 25% from June, 2016 to June, 2017. I've been a customer since 2012 and prices have increased 125% in that time frame. Time to find a new storage unit. Too much competition to tolerate this kind of greed. read more

I had a very poor experience at Universal Self Storage for the following reasons: 1. Poor customer service - Management seemed unhappy when I first went in to rent a unit, as if it was an inconvenience for them. That was the case every time I interacted with them afterward as well, unenthusiastic and indifferent. Not to mention they were always out of the office whenever I went in or called. 2. Poor accessibility - I couldn't access my storage unless there is someone in the office (normal 9-5 hours). That essentially meant I could only access my stuff on the weekend since I work during that time frame, as do most people. What's the point of having a gate access code if I need people there to get in? 3. Misleading prices - I started at $180/month for my unit, which seemed about the same as other places in the area. Then they increased my rent to $280 after 6 months without notifying me. I called and told them I would be moving due to the increase, and they magically found a way to lower the rate to $230. Still higher than competitors, but I was moving permanently soon anyway so I just ate the extra $50 for a month. If I wasn't already going to move, I definitely would've been out of there. I highly recommend using a different business for storage. read more

Awesome storage facility. Very friendly staff. Great rates and super clean. The only knock would be that the gate closes at 7pm but other than that I was very pleased with the company and the unit for the year I was here. read more

I'm trying to find out why your company put a red lock on my storage unit I don't owe your company any money i just moved in recently in this month from my knowledge that's an illegal lockout and im thinking of taking legal actions against your company i would appreciate if someone from upper management can reach out to me and explain to me the reason no one reached out to me from the office and when I stopped by the office was closed that's totally crazy. I had my own lock on my unit so there's no reason read more

I was a customer of Universal Self Storage for close to 10 years and never had an issue. We've used several storage facilities over the years and this was easily the cleanest operation I've seen and the customer service is top notch. I only hope I can find a similar storage center when we move out of state, which is the only reason we left. read more

Thank you Beth A, the situation out there at this location is very worse, despite Cathie is super rude, very disrespectful, she is always nagging, Racial Rant and Hate Act. She need to be kind to everyone not specific Race plus everyone should pay same rate for same strong they rent by sizes after each move in introductory rate is over even at the regular rate or any promotional offers and everyone need to see the rate paper work to have access to it, not to only to show to specific race. ALL life matters, All customers matters. Bottomline, Worse location ever with No Light inside storage unit and outside storage unit. Again they take so much money for each unit but ignore other important things need to be available that includes plugins/sockets inside or outside storage unit All situations not fix or resolve but still Cathie/Corporate/Management want more money for each units that do not have no single light inside or outside the overall storage and most light are burned out outside which the light can not even go through your unit, when is 4:30PM in Winter time is already dark outside you can not see noting inside your units. ln fact, Beth A, try making a trip to this location between 4:30PM till 5:30PM and try open any empty unit and see for your eyes what l'm saying. lt's very crucial to get the important things done and not just take money from us or let minority or specific racial have to pay more for same size unit. Example, 5x5 rate is $10.00 after introductory rate or move in special then others should pay same rate after that as well even let everyone have access to your rate paper work or post it online regardless whatsoever we all treat same way no special treatment for specific race. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORAGE COMPANY AND/LOCATION. Cathie is very rude, disrespectful, lack of professionalism and worse communication skills. Nevertheless, Honesty and true business win it all and that makes a champion in your business for many years to come. That's really crucial to have great business relationship with your customers and very focus who you hire, not racist or hate acts or unhappy employees like Cathie is in their for different reason. All Lives Matters and every customers that walkins to your locations shoul get special treatment, no more, no less, without us customers, your business will not function, you or your employees do not get pay check, please kindly remember, every penny we custonets pay for each unit pay your pay check and be kind and solve/reslove every problems at Corona location. Open up for every customers, give same rate, not to find out later after move in someone else pay less than others plus they have been there renting 200 years ago for same unit after years of move in special rate they still pay way less than others(that not fair) and relate to all customers as family. Thank you so much for your cooperation and understanding. Have a great day! read more

Absolutely ridiculous rate increase. Was paying $38.00 had one rate increase to $49.00 in less than a year without notice. A 29% increase.... Why would you force a good paying customer out by doing that. someone clearly doesn't know how to manage their business very well. read more
