LOVE this place! I've come to visit my best friend in Chicago three times in the past year and a half or so, and each time we find ourselves here at some point. I've gotten a new piece each time I visit and they have all been very reliable, well made, and really unique looking. The selection is mind-blowing, the prices are the same as I see at home (Arkansas) and at school (New Orleans)...but I think the products are superior to what I find when I shop at home/school. Avoid this store. Very rude very unprofessional. Not happy with the purchase and no reciept for counterfeit product dr dabber aurora. The hip chick gave plenty of wack excuses that did not make sense at all as to why I couldn't get a reciept. read more

I've bought glass pipes from here and I've been satisfied. However, I would not buy anything from here again. I bought a vapir vaporizer (which they would not allow me to take out of the box unless I bought it) and was disappointed in it after I took it out of the box. I tried to take it back and they refused to even allow to exchange it. They eventually allowed me to buy another vape I wanted at below half cost, but would not do anything with the vapir, even though I never used it. All I did was take it out of the box, plug it in, and turn it on. It smelled like burning plastic and was very loud. You could here it running throughout my house. Did not even try to vape out of it. Very disappointed and tricked me out of a hundred bucks. NOT FRIENDLY PEOPLE. read more

Rude sales people behind the counters. Been to this place several times and usually walk out each time spending at least $75 each time. Took my friend here to check the store out since I picked him up a nice piece from here as a Christmas present and yes we did take awhile to look at stuff but we weren't constantly asking to see stuff. We actually never once asked for help and when I finally asked to look at one piece because I had a question the other girl says to the other girl theses guys are taking a long time. I put the piece down on the counter and walked out. Lost my business today and in the future. Plus I won't take anyone else to this store for their purchases. So 2 stars is "Meh. I've experienced better"? Well, that fits, because I have experienced better. At Secrets. I used to love this place: peering in at all that glass in a dizzying array of colors and shapes is like a kaleidoscope in a display case, and the staff were helpful and friendly. But on my most recent visit, I feared I'd have to resort to a feigned seizure to attract the attention of the the staff, who seemed more interested in talking than selling. Upon finally being deemed worthy of the minimal service they could provide, they requested my I.D., held it while showing me glass, made it impossible to compare more than two pieces at once, and were approximately as friendly as the surly lady at my local library branch. Feeling a bit surly myself, I left and went across the street to Novelties and Stuff, where I was greeted with a smile, and got great customer service. But I'll save that for another review. Great selection and prices, but this would be a five-star review if not for the astoundingly cold customer service I experienced. I went in yesterday to see what they had (deciding if I would purchase a quality piece--I decided not to), and the clerks seemed as if the last thing they wanted to do was greet me or see to my inquiries. Huge disappointment, considering I went out of my way to get there upon a close friend's recommendation, and I had every intention of spending more than I ended up actually spending. It's really hit or miss here. Don't come during a weekend evening unless you know exactly what you want. It's kind of hard to browse their "water pipe" collection because their giant display case is blocking it. I ended up standing on some pipe on the groud to check out the Roors. If I'm gonna drop that much cash, I shouldn't be standing on a pipe. Only about 1/2 the time is someone helpful, and only about 1/2 of THOSE times do I get a good deal. Come here when Pipes and Stuff doesn't have what you need. read more

great little place. we planned on going to samah for some hookah and when we found out we couldn't get a room my friends decided to just buy a hookah instead. this shop seems to have everything from a wide variety of hookahs to water pipes and a large assortment of flavored tabacco. secrets loses a star because the guy working there seemed to be annoyed when he was helping us. how are you going to be annoyed when you have customers about to make a big purchase?? read more

I was at your store not too long ago, and the skinny guy with the tattos took care of me. I have never been to a head shop where the sales guy was so helpful. I had a lot of questions, and he was VERY helpful and knew a lot about what he sold!! I was SO impressed with his attitude and help that I spent over $600 dollars while I was there. I bought a 3 chamber COSMIC American made grinder from the Secrets Belmont location for only $40. Grinds with ease and has magnetic seals. Plus it dosent squek when you twist it like the cheaper brands. And yes they do throw in free stuff when you pretend to stall or try to seem not interested to make the sale. But keep in mind the prices marked on the items are purposely priced high so you can hagel or negotiate a price. read more

I can't deny that their selection is huge. It is a little overwhelming, but I didn't really see a bong that I liked within my price range ($250). What I'm trying to say is that I feel like their prices are on the higher end. They definitely have some really nice glass, but too pricey for the average smoker IMO. read more

Secrets Sucks this place is a dump and customer service sucks.i went to buy a bowl and they tried to sell me something that was cracked and i asked for another piece and it had bubbles in it like the glass was blown by someone inexperienced but anyways ....i went to the place called novelties and stuff which just moved to their new location at 3248 n clark st chicago they had a great selection and wow i was amazed by the customer service and prices.......definitely blows secrets away..... read more

This place is pathetic. The lady that works here is about as helpful and friendly as a doormat. The place is over priced, and you get a bad attitude. Place always full of cigar and cigarette smoke. Smoke some weed and be happy. Walk one block east on Belmont and on Clark street (to the north and south), there are many smokeshops that are cheaper, more friendly and helpful. read more

I was also sold the fake k2 her too, I have to using K2 for about 7 months and I used to shop at secrets and novelties and stuff, since they used to Carey the same stuff but then the old manager at novelty told me that they switched to the real k2 distributors after the k2 company called them and said that the person they were buying from was not there diatributor, beware secrets still buys from the same buyer, JR this is what I was talking about as said by H M . Definately the best selection of glass in all of chicagoland. Handblown, color changing, etc etc. Metal and wood too (dugouts, etc). Here's a little secret that hopefully won't get me blacklisted. If you ask point blank for 20% off your purchases you will get it. Do not tip toe around this and don't feel awkward asking. Just say "may i please have 20% off my purchase?" and voila! The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the inventory, Much better than adam's apple and superb. In case you are doing a keyword search hopefuly this helps. . . Hookah, bong, glass pipe, steamroler, water pipe, hitter, rolling papers, tatoo, salvia, novelty, nitrous, whippit. That about sums up the shop. Figure they must have upwards of 3000 glass items in stock, so if you can't find what you want you are probably in the wrong place. I'm not sure, but I think they may be closely related with the peeps from taboo taboo and egor's as that is where i learned of the 20% deal. read more
