The food here was a fine example of Indian and was slightly more affordable that the other choices in Doylestown. It is BYOB which we like because that save a little bit of money as well as the more affordable menu. They will customize the food to your spice taste level. I like my Indian food a little on the spicy side and they were accommodating. The service was good and the staff was accommodating. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the ambience. The interior of the restaurant is sparse and really has no character. I'd been really looking forward to trying Secret - I've traveled to India 20+ times... Hyderabad, Chennai, New Delhi (Agra twice) - therefore my opinion isn't necessarily an expert qualified opinion, but at least informed. I found Secret Kitchen's Butter Chicken to be excessively sweet - I'm not sure why I was so surprised - however compared to my previous experiences - the Butter Chicken was cloyingly sweet. Great menu. Terrific food. Wonderful dosa. Hard to find around here but they nailed it!

The issue with the dosas is now fixed! light, crispy, thin, with very tasty potato and spices inside. Yummy! I prefer to the samosas, even.

We ordered delivery. My husband's chicken tikka was fine, but way too mild. Unfortunately, the saag paneer (my favorite dish) was some of the worst I've ever had and I didn't finish it. Maybe they dial back all the spices for delivery orders or something? The somosa was the best part of the meal, saved by the spicy chutney. The prices are high but pretty standard for Indian food, it's just a little more upsetting when everything tasted so bland. I don't recommend delivery, but I'd be interested in trying this place again in restaurant and have a feeling it might be a better experience. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time. We got takeout and the ordering experience was perfect. We even received a discount for our next order. I got the lamb vindaloo and my son got the chicken Tikka masala. Both meals were delicious. Spice level was on point and food was fresh and hot. There are not very many Indian restaurants in the Doylestown area so I was really excited to try this new Indian restaurant! To start, I tried the chicken 65 and gobi manchurian. The chicken 65 was much saucier than I expected since the dish is usually on the dry end but it was still tasty. The gobi manchurian was really good too but again a little more saucey than you might get at other restaurants. Both appetizers were definitely spicy though so be careful if you have a low spice tolerance! I also tried the paneer tikka masala and butter chicken, both of which were creamy and delicious. The curries are on the sweeter side so you may want to ask for extra spicy if you don't like a bit of sweetness (personally I really enjoy a bit of sweetness so the spicy version was perfect for me). Garlic naan was delicious as well and went perfectly with the curries. Definitely enjoyed all of the food here and will be back for more! read more

We wanted to like this new restaurant but unfortunately our experience was not good. Our food was mediocre at best. I ordered the shrimp curry and it was awful. Tasted like they just took canned tomato sauce and put shrimp in it. The shrimp were very small and not all were cleaned properly. They had the nerve to charge $23 for this dish. My companion had lamb biryani which was better but a lot of the lamb pieces were tough Service was AWFUL. There was no ambiance at all. Bright lights and bright yellow walls with a few wall hangings. With tip our bill came to over $70 for one appetizer and two entrees. We were not happy. The food was not worth the cost. We will not return. read more

My son and I just discovered this restaurant and got takeout. The service was really quick, the staff was very pleasant, and they gave us a free appetizer, which was a nice surprise when we unpacked our food! Both of our dishes and the appetizer and the naan were excellent! My son eats out a lot and he thinks that this is in his top five in Doylestown. Good local Indian with good prices. We did take out and have leftover days later. We said mild for every dish but was fairly spice for us and kids, so be aware. Great taste but probably made in advance spicer than what you may be able to handle. The breads were all really good. And the mango lassi while I waited for take out was great. Very clean and modern if you decide to eat in. Very nice service. All around great quality and much more affordable than any other local Indian restaurants. And you don't have to drive all the way to Montgomeryville now to get decent fair priced Indian food anymore....so go to this place today so it makes it and stays for many years! read more
