Love this place. The ambiance is so nice while you are waiting for your services. Very professional. It is a great place for a couples massage. They have a private sweet with candles and a very nice ambiance. I have had a microderm facial and deep cleansing facial and both were excellent. They use Dermalogica products...which my skin likes! The pregnancy massage is great, as well. I feel the prices are reasonable. Andddd....they are located next door to Baracoa which has excellent cuban food and coffee. So you can get a nice couples massage in the evening and then followup with a romantic, yummy date night at Baracoa. read more

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and was in need of a massage. My neck and lower back were so tight. I didn't get any massages during my pregnancy because I didn't feel like I needed them but now that I'm near the end I had to come in. Nola did my massage and she did amazing I was so comfortably positioned during my massage. I usually like lots of pressure and her techniques were SO good I feel like I got exactly what I wanted and needed. I definitely recommend Nola and hope to come back again before my baby arrives. Not quite ready for prime time. I really miss my spa in the San Fernando Valley. Some suggestions for the owners: Regardless of whether your workers are independent contractors or not you need to provide: 1) Massage tables with holes at the top so that people can anatomically correctly rest their head. My neck was aching. 2) The room was freezing. Keep the room at least at 70 degrees. 3) Provide basic bolsters and eye shields. Good spas provide small, comfortable eye shields during facials. The esthetician clumsily put a twisted tissue over my eyes which did nothing to block the light. I could have used a bolster under my neck for the facial. 4) During a facial, while a mask is on, instead of the esthetician talking, talking, talking to the client, have them put heated wax on the hand and do a hand and arm massage. When you subtract the time the worker spent getting things ready my 100 dollar facial was really only 30 minutes long. I paid a lot of money for a mediocre experience. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I'll be driving down to the San Fernando Valley to my old spa from now on. On the positive side, the Farmhouse Fresh products are great!! read more

I'm posting this because the manager/owner? was there when I voiced my disappointment. When I book an appt 120$ for an extraction facial they should have told me they don't do extractions due to a state lawsuit by dermatologists and shouldn't have charged me for what I didn't get. This spa is borderline unsafe. My girlfriend left her pedicure appointment at second wind with extreme pain in her feet. Apparently the worker decided to scrape her old toe nail polish off with a sharp tool and NO NAIL POLISH REMOVER. The tool that the worker used scraped her nails painfully and dug into the cuticles and under the nails, making it hard for her to even walk to the car. My girlfriend made clear indications that she was in pain during the appointment and the worker did not stop or adjust her technique. I am absolutely livid and it took everything I had to not walk back in and chew out everyone in the place. Her pedicure was terrible regardless. The nail polish was sloppily painted on, with bits of polish all over her toes. They barely got any of the callouses off of her feet and the worker was unsanitary and kept touching her hair against my girlfriend's bare skin. The hot stone "massage" involved the worker clumsily hitting the stones against her ankles and legs and hurting her more. This place is 100% unacceptable, sloppy, and unethical, and I would not recommend it to anyone. EDIT: She received a full refund, thankfully. read more

I went in for a deep facial. It was a rly relaxing environment. I felt like it was a tad bit expensive for me but I'm from FL so I'm not use to California prices. At the end of my facial I was given a piece of paper with all the products that was use on my face. A couple things I didn't like was that when I had my eyes closed the lady didn't warn me about her turning on the lamp light to see my face more clearly so I just had bright light shining on my eyeballs outta no where and that annoyed me a bit. Today was my first time at Second Wind Day Spa and I came in with a tension headache. I was directed to a waiting area complete with relaxing ambiance and comfortable lounge chairs. Gus, my masseuse, directed me to the room and allowed me some time to get ready. The massage tables were heated, which added to the relaxation I felt (even before my massage!) He came in with a warm welcome and asked for the reason for my visit. He really targeted my problem area and I left feeling better. My tension headache was almost completely gone and my neck doesn't feel so stiff and tired. He even gave me some pointers on what I can immediately do at home when I have tension headaches. I definitely will come back to this place soon! P.S. this place a truly a hidden gem. read more

This is a really enjoyable day spa. Relaxing is an understatement. Do I want to lay on a lounger in the relaxation room while I turn my phone off and listen to soft music while my esthetician prepares the room? Yes. Do I want chamomile tea too? Definitely. I've been here a few times for Signature facials while in the area visiting family. Each time is pure bliss. Dermalogica products and all. Had a slight mishap on my recent visit where the esthetician was late to my appointment. She apologized profusely, made sure to give me my total money's worth on my facial (especially the massage part) and the front desk took a bit off the bill. When a business goes out of its way to acknowledge a mistake and correct it without being asked to that's a 5 star experience in my book. Loved every minute of it! Starting with the cheerful greeters to the beautiful relaxation room (with lemon water). The destress massage was exactly that. The lady was good at her job and made me feel comfortable with just the right amount of minimal conversation. My facial was also great. The lady that did it explained every step (including the one with the Susan right on your face that makes it hard to breath lol). She gave me good tips on how to maintain my skin. A couple of weeks ago my husband and I had a couples massage here. The massage therapists were very professional and they did a great job. HOWEVER, we paid for a 90 minute massage double session and unfortunately for us we only received 70 minutes. We arrived 10 minutes before our appointment and our massage therapists didn't come to get us until 10 minutes pass our appointment. By the time the massage started we had lost 20 minutes. Looks Good On Paper (WEB site)!! Make sure you verify every thing that will be in your spa package before they start. I called and made an appointment for the $98 Signature Massage for 75 min (which is the only $98 massage they have). After only being massaging for 60 min and not the 75 min, also they did not use the warming stones (that I was up-sold to me over the phone). When the massage was finished I asked about the warm stones and the masseur told me that they did not inform him of the stones. When I went to the front desk to inquire. I was told that there was some miscommunication from the earlier shift. So the manager informed me that they would take 10 dollars off the price. At first I thought this was nice, but when I started thinking about it on the way home. I realized that they did not give me a discount for their error, but instead they charged me full price for the treatment that they mistakenly gave me instead of the one I requested. She was able to reshape my eyebrows more than I have ever had before. She knew exactly what I wanted when I explained to her how and what I needed for my eyebrows. Very nice ambience. However, I believe that the esthetician who did my facial did not have enough experience. Also the products used caused me to have an allergic reaction during the facial.
