Fun bar with a rooftop that has pretty good views of Broadway. Despite sitting on the rooftop patio, we could hear the live band still very well (they're located inside, shielded from the weather). Quite honestly, this might be my new favorite downtown Broadway music and drinking spot. The rooftop bar was all that and a bag of chips for service and liquor selection. Actually, I found real top shelf bourbon (Blanton's) and great bar service from the sweet server upstairs. I had been looking for a rooftop bar with great music midday and midweek, and this was the perfect spot. The crowd seemed to come and go, but the ambiance was perfect, and I had a view of the band and up and down Broadway. Fun times that I will be back again, not to mention... they are 420 Broadway!!! read more

It may be the Second Fiddle, but it's one of my FIRST choices on lower Broadway! Always a fun and classic place to go while visiting the little big town of Nashville! More spacious and honestly better bands than places like Tootsies or several of the other "world famous" bars, smells a lot better too lol. They've got the best bar pizza on Broadway, great bartenders who give you your moneys worth in liquor, and bands that play all your faves plus some of the more nuanced and niche songs you've forgotten about but love. Mark Ramsey is a musician that's played there often for years, my personal fave as an oldie who keeps things fresh, so I've included some killer pics of him from our last Nash trip! I absolutely loved this place. We came here to unwind after being in a business conference all day. We came upstairs and sat on the rooftop because it was a nice breeze and the inside was a bit warm. This is such a fun bar. It was not insanely crowded upstairs, despite us getting there close to 10 p.m. Our bartender was great and she was so much fun! She made some great recommendations. One of the drinks that I ordered was the Cats Meow. It reminded me of a ginger ale, but with a bit of a kick. I will say that they will sneak up on you after a while. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to Second Fiddle. The staff was great and the drinks were reasonably priced. I will definitely visit again. read more

We were able to get a seat here after seeing a show at the Ryman so that's a major plus. Drinks were good and everyone was enjoying the band. They played a mix of rock and country and one older guy was having his own one man dance party so that added to the entertainment. I didn't eat anything here but I'd come back again. read more

Great live music of both levels and two different types of music. We sat on the first level and they sand country music on non stop requests from the customers. It was great. Some Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Brett Young, Taylor Swift, The Almond Brothers, and anything you ask. The band Andrew Mac was excellent with guitarist, lead singer who also plays the guitar, a fiddler, a drummer, and base player. Fun bar and we would definitely return. We had two seats at the bar and lucky us, Mathew Barringer's band was playing. Mathew likes to sing on the bar and give high fives. The bartenders were attentive and the ladies room was clean. I had local beer Hap & Harry's, and my daughter was drinking White Claws. We didn't order food, but the menu wasn't that impressive. One annoyance is this band likes to walk a tip bucket around to the patrons (they accept cash or Venmo) and the guy kept saying MORE after I said I already tipped via Venmo. Shut up dude. I went here on Friday afternoon went on the rooftop bar. The band was great. The bartender was horrible. She was on her phone. Could care less if anybody came up for a drink. It was pretty crowded. She probably could've made great money if you could get a drink or get her attention off her phone I would go back for the music, but not for the service. read more

I am so grateful for Second Fiddle existing because I'm from California where bars allow you to wear tank tops. I was trying to go next door to Tootsies but was told I needed to wear sleeves in order to be granted admittance. I was a little shocked because it wasn't like it was a bad tank, it was a name brand! It was RVCA! Well luckily, the security at Second Fiddle's back door saw what happened and was nice enough to extend an invite to my friends and me. Legit, that was super awesome of him and this place was so much fun! The band upstairs was amazing, their rendition of Amy Winehouse's Valerie was top notch. The upstairs patio was conducive to conversation while still being able to hear amazing music from inside the bar and neighboring bars and it was really great to be able to give business to a business that actually wanted me there! I will say, I looked over next t door to Tootsies, where I saw patrons without sleeves. Yes they were women but I feel like I looked better than all of them! Kidding! Or am I? Lol. read more

The Second Fiddle is an economical, fun, and clean option on Broadway. The rooftop has great views. When I went, no cover was being charged when other Broadway businesses were charging. Drink prices are comparable to other Broadway venues, and they have a handful of food options. Live music stages are on both floors. Employees were all respectful and helpful. read more

We popped in here in the early afternoon and the band was amazing! Dignity be damned - they really made me want to get down & party at 1:00pm! It's a comfortable venue with plenty of tables and places to sit. There's a long bar, and when we were there, there was one lone bartender running up and down by herself. My dad tried to order a simple, old-fashioned drink (very easy to make) and the bartender shook her head "no" without asking what it was... sad, but she had no backup help, either. Tonight was so wonderful! I never get out on Broadway. I'm so thankful I made the decision to go. Deanna greeted me on the rooftop bar and made sure I was happy the entire night. She went above and beyond with not only me but with customers around me. I haven't been to a place in Nashville in a while where people knew the bartender by name and were excited to be there. It made me comfortable with my decision on choosing second fiddle. The atmosphere on the top floor is awesome. Live music and an overview of the city? What is to be beat? The band had an amazing fiddler-she was so talented and the band had a broad variety of crowd pleasing covers. Stopped here first during a recent bar crawl through downtown Nashville. This was the only place we went to where they didn't check ID at the door because it was so chill. The band was extremely unassuming, but were really talented and fun. When we came, they were exclusively playing country music. The dance floor was pretty empty, but then again, we went in the middle of the week. They were extremely generous with the shots here, as they were enormous compared to other places. AVOID THIS BAR!!!!! We went to every location and this was by far the dirtiest, rudest and most disappointing place. I'm surprised they are still open. It's really an embarrassment to Nashville. We had the most fun at Tootsies and the then Rippys. We went to all of them. Just do yourself a favor and avoid it. It was our last stop of the night and just killed our buzz and kinda ruined the night. We should have known when there wasn't a wait to get in. We tried downstairs for a few minutes and then said "hopefully it's better upstairs". We went upstairs and it was worse. The bartenders upstairs are a joke. It's the lowest class bar on the street. Great little Honky Tonk on Broadway. We ordered drinks and hung out for around an hour and the half. Listened to two really good bands. Great atmosphere and the lady at the bar who also worked our table came by when the drinks got low, the drinks BTW were priced reasonably. Great crowd interaction. Cover charge no, but we did see some folks tipping the guys at the door. Food, didn't see a menu, bathrooms, yes. High tables but fairly comfortable. Not all Honky Tonks are created equal and after coming to the Second Fiddle I began to understand the differences. It seemed like this place catered to a slightly older crowd. The band playing when we came on a Saturday night left much to be desired. The lead singer looked so unamused and there were points where she turned her back to the audience or where she was texting during the song. It was really sad to be honest. There were a few people dancing on the dance floor but the music wasn't all that entertaining. We left at the end of their set for a larger Honky Tonk to listen to good entertainers and better music. read more

Second Fiddle had a great band playing on Friday night and attentive bartenders. Drink prices were standard, the place was not crowded, which was nice because we were able to move around. Their decor is really neat; they have musical instruments behind the bar, a lot of attention to detail in here. I love the brick wall and there are tables throughout. It's a little empty in the back of the room and you don't have a great view of the band unless you're up front. It was a fun stop to listen to some good music. read more

On Friday November 8th during the evening my group & I stopped by second fiddle to have a couple drinks and listen to the talent. The band was very talented and also knew how to entertain a crowd and was excellent at involving the crowd. I even purchased a beer koozie which saldly I had forgotten to take home with me that night. The next day I stopped by the bar, explain my mishap and they gave me my koozie which I was relieved to have again. They are adorable beer koozies. The only downfall to second fiddle is that they did not serve food. We ended up having to leave this establishment in search of food. Just a suggestion for the future.
