The team is experienced, dedicated, and many of them have been here for years. Their knowledge and commitment are evident in the care they provide every day. I also love that they offer spay and neuter services. Helping prevent unwanted litters is one of the most effective ways to reduce the overwhelming number of kittens entering shelters and, in the long term, helps decrease the need for euthanasia. I highly recommend supporting or adopting from this shelter. They also accept donations, which directly help provide food, medical care, and other essentials for animals who desperately need it. Every adoption, donation, or act of support truly makes a difference.

I just adopted a dog from there and I am happy that I adopted him but I was reading other comments…read moreand I seen some other people have this problem as well but I adopted my dog with WORMS and just very unfortunate because he had them at the shelter and I'm not sure if they just don't monitor the dogs pooping or what he is severely dehydrated constantly drinking water and scratching his butt on the floor, very uncomfortable for him and just wish it was treated at the shelter before I got him, he has really bad dry skin and I know they probably don't wash dogs there but I can't wash him yet either since they neutered him the day after I adopted him. But I gave him dewormer, living a better life now .

I initially fostered dogs for them, which was a good experience. They provide food for dogs you are fostering. I eventually adopted a dog from Pooch Savers. They are very supportive. I will forever support this rescue. They are amazing. They have adoption events every Saturday and Sunday at the Petsmart on Park and DNT in Plano from 1-5. You can fill out an application online ahead of time to get approved to adopt. After you are approved, you can adopt same day. But you are under no obligation when filling out the application. They are very thorough in making sure the right person, home meets the criteria they are looking for. The adoption process was fast, understandable and easy. Being approved to adopt was a great experience. Going to PetSmart was easy to find and the process there was very organized, with volunteers who had knowledge of the dog I adopted. Her name was Little Bit when I got introduced to her and now she is Lynnie! Spending over 4 hours with her and to bound with each other was beautiful. The moment she saw me and I saw her, I felt a connection that I knew, she was for me. She wagged her tail, barked and I blew her a kiss. Then the volunteer brought her to me and the journey began. They allowed me to take as much time with her as possible. The process of signing agreements was fast and understandable. They are taking care of all her shots, spay, microchipping etc. I would totally recommend, as they recommend to go on the website, look for a dog you're interested in and fill out the application. That way when you are approved, you get an email and a first choice or second choice, depending on how many people were approved and before you. Get there early and stay in line. There was over 40ish people in line when I got there but skipped the line and became person 2, because I was approved. Everyone answered my questions as best they could, and the transparency they displayed was unique. If you have questions about a cat or dog, they will pull up all the information they have - good, bad, and ugly - to help inform your decision. One staff member shared that their better-behaved animals are the ones that are out in the public at places such as PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus. That makes perfect sense, and the staff at those secondary places can give you even more information as to their behavior. All for nothing when if i had the chance to visit them just a couple of weeks ago i would have had an entire interrogation just to try to visit with theses sweet babies, i dont even know if i was going to end up adopting them hence the visiting with theses dogs. They really are thorough in matching their pets with the right family. Correspondence was excellent and I was put on a waitlist as other families were also interested in Benny. The staff are friendly and professional and took the time in the meet and greet to get to know about me and my sweetheart Cavachon Chloe. You could say Benny picked us and it instantly melted my heart. It was a match made in Heaven and I'll always be eternally grateful. The visit was very thorough both with her questions as well as mine. She was very attentive and understanding. We talked about the three Labs I had over many years. She was very aware of my answers plus she showed an understanding for the safety of my home for a rescue. She submitted the information and I received an email two days later explaining the process of meeting any of the available dogs. Finally I met a wonderful petite Lab of six years. The foster was wonderful and truly cared about the happiness of the rescue. The entire process was timely plus honest. My new Lab is perfect for me. I cannot say enough thank yous to DFWLab Rescue.
