Second chance rescues dogs from kill shelters…read more If your looking for a dog, stop here first.. Great animals

Overall, the idea of this organization is amazing! It's absolutely fantastic that the animals are…read morebeing saved from kill shelters and I wish them the best of luck at getting adopted! Especially as a nonprofit. However, during my experience there I noticed a few things that were a bit off putting to me as someone who loves working with animals and the community that comes with it! Such as being treated as if I were dumb/incapable during the job training, even though there was absolutely no structure going into it, it was unpaid, and I was still learning the ropes, it seemed like it was just inconvenient to them that I was there at all and towards the end of the shift one of the employees even yelled at all of the dogs to "shut up" multiple times as she cleaned. The aggression was certainly alarming. Of course, being autistic I do sometimes get in my own head about these things, but something about it just didn't feel right. Other than that, the animals were sweethearts so I don't regret the time I got to spend with them, it's just the employees were incredibly judgemental and there was no real process/organization behind the scenes for training. The hiring agent wasn't even there! So, I hope this helps anyone looking for some insight from a different perspective. I still can't believe how mean that employee was to the dogs for simply barking, as dogs tend to do.

The staff works hard to help them flourish and thrive, giving each one the best possible chance of finding a forever home. The team is experienced, dedicated, and many of them have been here for years. Their knowledge and commitment are evident in the care they provide every day. I also love that they offer spay and neuter services. Helping prevent unwanted litters is one of the most effective ways to reduce the overwhelming number of kittens entering shelters and, in the long term, helps decrease the need for euthanasia. I highly recommend supporting or adopting from this shelter. They also accept donations, which directly help provide food, medical care, and other essentials for animals who desperately need it. Every adoption, donation, or act of support truly makes a difference.

But I gave him dewormer, living a better life now .

They are very thorough in making sure the right person, home meets the criteria they are looking for. The adoption process was fast, understandable and easy. Being approved to adopt was a great experience. Going to PetSmart was easy to find and the process there was very organized, with volunteers who had knowledge of the dog I adopted. Her name was Little Bit when I got introduced to her and now she is Lynnie! Spending over 4 hours with her and to bound with each other was beautiful. The moment she saw me and I saw her, I felt a connection that I knew, she was for me. She wagged her tail, barked and I blew her a kiss. Then the volunteer brought her to me and the journey began. They allowed me to take as much time with her as possible. The process of signing agreements was fast and understandable. They are taking care of all her shots, spay, microchipping etc. I would totally recommend, as they recommend to go on the website, look for a dog you're interested in and fill out the application. That way when you are approved, you get an email and a first choice or second choice, depending on how many people were approved and before you. Get there early and stay in line. There was over 40ish people in line when I got there but skipped the line and became person 2, because I was approved. I totally would recommend this rescue to adopt from, surrender a pet or foster a pet until the pet is adopted. They are very friendly and helpful! Thank you Pooch Savers! James & Lynnie!

Everyone answered my questions as best they could, and the transparency they displayed was unique. If you have questions about a cat or dog, they will pull up all the information they have - good, bad, and ugly - to help inform your decision. One staff member shared that their better-behaved animals are the ones that are out in the public at places such as PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus. That makes perfect sense, and the staff at those secondary places can give you even more information as to their behavior. This place is doing a tremendous service to the community, and I am proud to be a supporter of their efforts.

I wanted to visit with the same dogs i had seen the previous week before i went out of town for the holiday, however i had no time to visit with them that day i came back today. All of the sudden theres a whole process to just visiting a dog with all these questions. On top of that they single out pit bulls for some reason while half the dogs there are pit bulls. All for nothing when if i had the chance to visit them just a couple of weeks ago i would have had an entire interrogation just to try to visit with theses sweet babies, i dont even know if i was going to end up adopting them hence the visiting with theses dogs.
