I will forever support this rescue. They are amazing. They have adoption events every Saturday and Sunday at the Petsmart on Park and DNT in Plano from 1-5. You can fill out an application online ahead of time to get approved to adopt. After you are approved, you can adopt same day. But you are under no obligation when filling out the application. They are very thorough in making sure the right person, home meets the criteria they are looking for. The adoption process was fast, understandable and easy. Being approved to adopt was a great experience. Going to PetSmart was easy to find and the process there was very organized, with volunteers who had knowledge of the dog I adopted. Her name was Little Bit when I got introduced to her and now she is Lynnie! Spending over 4 hours with her and to bound with each other was beautiful. The moment she saw me and I saw her, I felt a connection that I knew, she was for me. She wagged her tail, barked and I blew her a kiss. Then the volunteer brought her to me and the journey began. They allowed me to take as much time with her as possible. The process of signing agreements was fast and understandable. They are taking care of all her shots, spay, microchipping etc. I would totally recommend, as they recommend to go on the website, look for a dog you're interested in and fill out the application. That way when you are approved, you get an email and a first choice or second choice, depending on how many people were approved and before you. Get there early and stay in line. There was over 40ish people in line when I got there but skipped the line and became person 2, because I was approved. The team is experienced, dedicated, and many of them have been here for years. Their knowledge and commitment are evident in the care they provide every day. I also love that they offer spay and neuter services. Helping prevent unwanted litters is one of the most effective ways to reduce the overwhelming number of kittens entering shelters and, in the long term, helps decrease the need for euthanasia. I highly recommend supporting or adopting from this shelter. They also accept donations, which directly help provide food, medical care, and other essentials for animals who desperately need it. If you have questions about a cat or dog, they will pull up all the information they have - good, bad, and ugly - to help inform your decision. One staff member shared that their better-behaved animals are the ones that are out in the public at places such as PetSmart and Pet Supplies Plus. That makes perfect sense, and the staff at those secondary places can give you even more information as to their behavior. The adoption process was very easy and more thorough than my previous experiences with animal shelters (SA animal control did not care about anything at all). They seemed a little confused on whether he had a respiratory infection (he didn't), but you are given all medical /behavioral notes they have at checkout so you 100% know what's going on when you leave. They were nice enough to give us free shampoo, conditioner, and food. It was a very good experience and we feel blessed to add another crazy guy to our household!

I told her not to touch my SD this woman said that "the cat is so freaked by my dog and wanted to calm it down". The cat was so chill and not freaked out at all. It even was reaching out to touch my SD. If they are so worried about the cat getting freaked out, don't bring it with you. Oh BTW, if you ever touch my my SD again, I will make a criminal complaint with under both state and federal laws!

She is the absolute cutest kitten in the entire world and Cat Matchers is to blame for my lack of interest in anything that does not involve my kitten--yes, including beer and cheese. Cat Matchers didn't just go "Oh, you want a cat? Here, take this one." They actually interviewed me, verified I had a proper environment and financial means to take care of the kitty and then had me meet the kitty at a PetsMart event to make sure we were compatible. They helped me pick out the perfect kitten. I'm so pleased that I will be getting a second kitten soon so Polly won't get lonely in the afternoons while I'm at work. Adoption fee is $90 which covers having them "fixed" and shots to date. The animals are kept in foster homes instead of shelters. They are litterbox trained and all cute as buttons. They post photos of the pets up for adoption on their website, but you have to act quick, my first two choices were all ready spoken for. They have a litter right now about to be weened, fixed and ready to go. Stay away from the black one...it's mine! We are naming him Black Bart to go with the pirate motif.

Their cats are showcased at the Petsmart locations in McKinney, specifically at 121/Custer and 380/75. Our experience with them was extremely frustrating from the start. The person we initially sent our adoption application to completely ignored us. After some time, we managed to reach another staff member over the phone, who informed us that the person handling applications tends to just not respond if they don't like something in the application. After a lengthy conversation, we agreed to meet the next day (Friday) to adopt two baby kittens. I took time off from work, using 48 hours of vacation, so we could spend the weekend helping the kittens adjust to their new home while we were off work. However, on Friday morning, we received emails and texts saying that while we could meet the kittens, we couldn't take them home. This was because it was Petsmart's adoption weekend, and they were concerned that they would lose the Petsmart location if they didn't have cats to show. To clarify, they wanted to present two kittens that had already been adopted, purely for appearance's sake. Despite this, we still decided to meet with the representative that afternoon at Petsmart to see the kittens. We immediately fell in love with them, but when we started asking about the adoption process, things got complicated. I asked if their priority was to ensure the animals had a home or if it was more about appearances--since the goal should be finding a home for these animals. The response was just, "I know." When I asked if they were okay with keeping the kittens caged up for three more days, in a dark, empty store, just to maintain appearances, and if they realized they were misleading potential adopters by showing kittens that had already been adopted, the only answer was again, "I know." We were then told to email the foster mom directly, explaining my occupation and mentioning that I had taken off 48 hours of work. The associate we were with told us she was trying to contact the foster mom while we were there but that there was no reply. We spent about 45 minutes in the facility, during which we were crammed into a tiny space smaller than a closet with three cats. My daughter absolutely loved them. But when we asked about the next steps, we were told we weren't a good match because they thought my 4-year-old daughter was moving the cat wand too quickly. To clarify, our daughter has grown up with animals and has had cats before. Yes, she was excited, but that's because the cats were finally getting to move around after being cooped up in a cage. Our home is much larger than the small space we were shown in, and we always supervise her with pets. In fact, she's not allowed downstairs without an adult because we have a safety gate. At the end of the day, it became clear that optics were the priority for them. It felt like the foster parent wanted to keep the kittens all along, which is why they ignored our application and why the kittens were only at Petsmart for the adoption weekend's appearance. Don't waste your time with a rescue that claims to be advocates for animals when their actions clearly show otherwise.

We contacted Lana after we adopted two kittens that weren't getting along. Our Burmese Oliver,…read morearrived 2 months earlier and is 2 months older than our Bengal Felix. When Felix arrived, Oliver became very aggressive, and despite our attempts at doing a "slow" introduction we were not having success. So decided to bring in an expert! Lana came to our home and observed everything. While she was there, she gave us many practical suggestions on how to make our house more conducive to the needs of our new babies, the best way to play with them and many more valuable insights. These two boys are both very high energy cats and even though both have been fixed, display lots of aggressive behavior. It took 5 weeks before we felt comfortable with them being together unrestrained in the same room, and throughout it all, Lana was available with lots of suggestions and support. They now play together and while they chase and fight occasionally, it's the type of fun playing we expect from kittens! As you can see from one of the photos, they even eat out of the same bowl at the same time! There were so many positive recommendations Lana gave us, it's hard to narrow down what was most effective! But right at the top of the list is the use of treats to reinforce good behavior, and investing in a tall cat "playpen". The playpen made it possible for them to be very close together, seeing each other, smelling each other, and even interacting through the bars for a couple of weeks prior to letting them be together without barriers. This really made a big difference. Thank you Lana - they might have eventually gotten along, but we saved ourself from taking either one to an emergency clinic, and now they actually enjoy being together, rather than just tolerating each other.

She spent a lot of time with us in our initial session and followed up to check in on progress. She even came into town to visit family and offered to stop by and see if there was more she could assist with. We are still working on things, but it has been such an improvement.
