Tracy answered with the same shitty attitude every time I called, as if she was bothered that I didn't want my dog to die if he wasn't adopted. A day before he was to be euthanized, I get a call from Tracy with the shelter letting me know I can have him back and the $115 adoption fee would be waived. That was really kind! BUT when I picked him up, he had a broken tooth, he was malnourished with dry blood and cuts all over, really skittish and a completely different dog than when I dropped him off. They also didn't have any of his belongings. My dog was at this shelter for 2 months and I PAID to surrender him. I cried looking at the horrible shape my dog was in. I wish I would've known they didn't give a fuck about his well being. I cried for days after I got him back thinking of the horrible experience he had in "jail." It's unfair. I wouldn't take a stray to this shelter honestly, but I am considering sponsoring other pit bulls so this doesn't happen again. It's disgusting.

The program was in a group setting with Joy. Training was for pets and their humans. Joy would teach us the action and we would follow the action with our own pet. She would do tests on them with distractions. We did several activities for training. Our dogs pulled a lot and she educated us on harnesses that help with pulling. Since then, we have been able to use the skills we learn to calm them down more than they were. They still pull because they have a lot of energy, but the harness helped them not drag me. I learned so much. Joy was great!

He was so kind and compassionate and took such good care of all my "kids" - from Moses Smith, who passed in the early 1980s, to Snowball Smith, who passed in the late 1980s, Missy Runewicz, who was hit by a car and Dr. Norris and his staff kenneled her, loved her and then helped me when she passed due to her injuries. He and his staff also took exceptional care of our favorite youngster, Nick Bayless, who was my husband's constant companion due to his disability. His passing was so crippling to us all, but now we have the most spoiled of them all, Max, who is literally Nick's twin. I'm now in my 60's so Dr. Norris and his staff are a part of my family.
