Pet training review. My boyfriend has very hyperactive dogs that wanted to do anything they wanted to do. My boyfriend decided to put them into a 12 week training program here. The program was in a group setting with Joy. Training was for pets and their humans. Joy would teach us the action and we would follow the action with our own pet. She would do tests on them with distractions. We did several activities for training. Our dogs pulled a lot and she educated us on harnesses that help with pulling. Since then, we have been able to use the skills we learn to calm them down more than they were. They still pull because they have a lot of energy, but the harness helped them not drag me. i'm not sure how i feel about the grooming part of this Pet Smart. I've had one good experience and one not good experience so it is hard to tell. you can tell a few of these workers don't like their job which makes it hard to leave your pet with them. i really wish the customer service was better because this is a convenient place to get my dogs groomed but id much rather pay more then be met with the people here. read more

I took my puppy to this location to have his first haircut, and this wasn't the best decision on my end. I planned on taking him somewhere else first, but they were already booked up for the rest of the week. Upon picking my pup up, I was displeased with the lack of care and effort they did with his hair. He was cut very uneven and choppy. I even showed a picture of what I wanted his haircut to look like before they started and without really paying too much attention to the photo, they assured me they knew what I wanted. He didn't even look a little similar to the photo I showed them. For as much as I paid this was unacceptable, I will not return to this location for any grooming services. read more

Groomer sent my dog to the ER needing multiple paw stitches! Gave them written and verbal instructions that my Australian shepherd was afraid of the blow dryer & needed to be securely fastened to the table. Both of which was completely ignored and a hour later I received a phone call that my dog was being rushed to the ER after she apparently "broke a nail" turns out she had a large laceration on her paw that was bleeding through multiple bandages and needed stitches. The grooming manager was very nice and understanding about the severity of this but the groomer Carmen needs to be held responsible for ignoring instructions that I gave before and after I dropped her off. Extremely negligent and needs to be held responsible for ignoring patient records. She's had 10+ grooming and never an issue because the groomers are told prior verbally and written to not to use a blow dryer on her. Lucky that I don't sue her for this but thankfully they're assuming all charges for Carmen's lack of training. Extremely disappointed !!! read more

I accidentally tried to return my dog food to the wrong store. Could have happened to anyone. However, at the Petsmart in Irving, TX. Off of 183. They are rude from the moment I walked in. My dog had an accident and the cashier asked "Aren't you going to clean that up???" Mind you- I was not through the door. My dog has a torn ACL and is getting surgery soon. Just so you know, I of course cleaned up my dogs mess. Brandon seemed to be the manager at the time. I was very happy to see him after that happened. But once he realized my mistake- he was just as rude as the cashier. Me and my dog are old. Worst customer service ever. read more

Not very helpful with your fish needs. Their fish selection is subpar, they are either dead or dying. How are they supposed to help with your fish at home when they can't even keep their own fish alive? They are not very bright, especially the manager. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I would!! Beyond pissed of the paid grooming my dog received. I mean who cut his hair? The receptionist?? Will never take my dogs back or even recommend this place. You would think for keeping my dog for four hours his hair would look better than what it turned out to be. I bring my puppies here about once a month for a bath or grooming and I've always had a good experience. I love that you can book your appointment online with ease and the staff here is very welcoming. They are nothing but kind to my puppies so that's a big plus. I get emails with coupons frequently like 5 dollars off a bath. They also offer special prices for evening baths so I try to squeeze those in when I can for the savings. Overall I def recommend getting your puppies groomed here, they even throw cute little bandanas on them, which is a nice touch! read more

I have two dogs one large one small. Needless to say I'm here often. The store has the WORST smell when you first enter idk why they probably need to bleach the walls or something. But other than that it's always clean there's always associates to be found & there are always treats throughout the store for your babies. The store slacks sometimes in the cashier area - they rarely call for an additional cashier. But other than that it's where I get everything I need for my babies. The grooms salon is great & so is the Banfield Pet Hospital. They usually have it where the vet will look at your pet for free if it's their first visit so call in advance & they'll set you up with a coupon. read more

For a big chain, Petsmart does a pretty good job of covering our dogs' needs. We like that we are able to get the Blue Buffalo brand in several different flavors and formulas, because our dogs do much better with a grain free/ additive free diet. The non-sale price is similar to Green Pet in Bishop Arts, but since we don't always have time to venture that far, Petsmart fills the bill. There are frequently sales, so we take advantage of that if we need a new dog bed, crate, leash or other happy dog essentials. We also find some great deals on clearance dog toys (my personal favorites include holiday items from the Bret Michaels pet collection- I'm dead serious-- that's a thing, and my dogs love tearing that ridiculous stuff up!). If you're into dressing your pet, they even have an entire aisle full of dog clothes. The staff are always friendly and generally helpful, although I don't generally require help picking up dog food and toys. Other offerings at this location include puppy behavior classes, adopt-a-cat, birds, fish, reptiles and rodents, along with all the accoutrements needed to care for them. There is also a Banfield Pet Hospital and Banfield Grooming attached, which is handy. read more

Very disappointed. Went once for a bath and haircut, they messed it up and I really don't think they gave her a bath. So I went one more time just to give them another opportunity. I noticed too how helpful the staff was. We were looking for fish to keep our turtle company (bad idea) and one younger guy was just full of information on every aspect of every fish in there. I have taken my dogs here several times for grooming and nail trims. One of my dogs is not cooperative when getting her nails trimmed. I bring her to professionals because I cannot do it. One time they charged me, but did not trim the nails. The last time they told me to get a refund, they could not do it. I will not be back. read more

I would have given this place one start if it wasn't for the extremely nice man at the register. The staff doesn't acknowledge you at all in the store. They seem bothered by you if you ask them a question. The grooming staff is the worst. There are two older ladies there. One with short gray hair and one with a long gray ponytail that are horrid. Their attitude is offensive and I wouldn't want them working on my dog even if it was for free. The older lady with a pony tail is rough with the dogs while she grooms. This is a very nice pet store which has a pet hospital, a grooming salon for pets, a training center and the rescue animals area. Usually we visit the groomers to have the chihuahua's nails ground. Today is an updated rabies shot for Sitka, the black/white bi-eyed Husky for his license renewal. Banfield is the better side of this business model. Much more courteous and "normal" than the grooming shop. read more

Pet owners beware! I have two medium sized dogs, an Aussie mix and a border collie. I just moved to this area and was looking for new place to take my dogs for grooming. I took the boys to Petsmart once and they looked pretty good when I picked them up. The next time I took them in was for a nail trim. My previous groomer used to come out to the lobby area, or even to my car sometimes, give the guys a quick nail trimming, and we were on our way. I was surprised when the lady at Petsmart took the leash and wanted to take my dogs to the back, especially since there were a couple of grooming tables available. My usually well behaved Aussie did not want to go with the lady at all and actually put up a little bit of a struggle to stay with me. He'd never done that before. He is a well trained, retired (16 years old), service animal. While I was paying for the service out in the store I noticed the lady calling another groomer to come to the back and help her. By the time I got back she was calling yet a third person to handle my 35 lb. dog. I was upset and asked to go back and help them with him, but they wouldn't allow me to go to the back. When he came out several of his nails were still bleeding and he looked like someone had told him he was a bad boy with is eyes and tail lowered and hesitant walk. My border collie is an extremely shy rescue and very passive so I don't know what took place in the back with him but his nails were not bleeding after getting trimmed. The next day I read that a Petsmart employee forgot about a cocker spaniel in a crate with a dryer blowing on him. He died as a result of being left in there, apparently for an hour or more. I haven't been back to the store since then and won't take my pets there ever again. read more

I've been taking my (13 year old) miniature schnauzer to be groomed at this location for several years; the last few times the service has been questionable, but the situation yesterday was beyond awful. I had an 11:30 appointment for my dog and had her there a few minutes early. When we entered, there were four groomers hanging out at the front, one was sweeping the floor, but the others just seemed to be talking. There were definitely no dogs being groomed. The groomer, Stephanie, looked up my account and asked if I wanted my dog to receive her usual "teddy bear" cut. What? She is a schnauzer and has always received that specific cut. We went over the specifics of the cut, but it just didn't seem that she was paying attention at all. When I still hadn't received a call by 3:30 pm to pick up my dog, I called to check on her status and was told "Oh, no. We haven't finished with her yet. It's really busy here on weekends." So four hours and they still haven't finished? I gave them another hour before I just headed to the facility. When I arrived, there was only one dog being groomed; three tables were empty. I asked for my dog and was told that they had literally just finished bathing her and hadn't even started her hair cut. She'd been there for five hours! Stuck in a cage. You'd expect to at least have the staff tell you how sorry they are, apologize for the wait, but no. They gave me such an attitude, telling me that weekends are really busy (again, I had an appointment), and that people had been walking in all day. Stephanie, the groomer, was so rude. She literally rolled her eyes at me when I started to complain. Then Rhonda, who later told me that she is the grooming manager, came over and gave me the same bad attitude. When I was talking, you could see that she was trying to not laugh. When I called her on that, she said, "Okay, I'll stand here and try not to smile." I requested to speak to the store manager, Shawn, who did seem to listen and did tell me that a five hour wait for my appointment was unacceptable. He did waive the grooming fee, but to be honest, I wouldn't have paid for it anyway. When Stephanie finally groomed my dog, it was shoddy. Her cut was uneven, and it wasn't anything close to a schnauzer cut: the face wasn't cut into the beard, her tail area was not trimmed, her stomach was barely clipped, the cute little schnauzer line on the ribs was not there, her ears were uneven....She spent maybe 15 minutes on her actual clipping; I know, because I was watching her through the window from the main store. She did, however, take time for what seemed to be a personal phone call. I will never take my dog to this location again. Five hours in a crate, no apology from the groomers, and a cocky attitude about the whole thing...no. Just no. read more

Worst groomers EVER!!! I specifically requested a flea treatment when I called and scheduled an apt a few days in advance. When I arrived to drop off my two dogs I again reminded them I needed a flea treatment. I come back a few hours later and go to pay for my bill I notice I wasn't charged for it. I go back and ask about it, they say no. The person who checked my pups in apologized for forgetting to put it down which was cool. Then the lady who was currently helping me rudely just said well it wasn't on the paperwork that you needed it. She asked if I wanted her to re-wash them (but it was very clear she wasn't trying to do that), or she could just give them some advantix. Since it was clear she didn't really want to wash the dogs again; since I quote "found no fleas on them", I just went ahead and said no to another bath. They ended up giving me the advantix for free. Thanks. As soon as I got home I inspected both dogs- and found fleas on both of them. Needless to say I won't be returning to this location. Save your money and go else where. read more

Took my yorkie for nail cut went home afterwards look at is nails one paw was done and the other wasn't. Never will I bring my pet back. Do pet owners honestly think you are getting full service for your pet think again. Really how do you know they are really bathing your pet or brushing there teeth or services you can't tell. OK..... called to make sure they accept walk-ins for the grooming department so i could get my dogs nails trimmed as they are getting a little long and net clipped. They assured me they do and weren't that busy. So, I load up the dog and drive the 18 miles to get there. When I get there the girl didn't know the password for the computer, after several minutes of finding a co-worker and finally getting in, they found my pets information. Then they ask for rabies paperwork? I just moved here and don't have it with me at present, so they tell me they can't do her nails? Really? You could have told me over the phone instead of wasting not only my time, gas and money, but also my patience. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT ANY PETSMART AGAIN!!!!! read more
