Watauga Animal Shelter - The shelter kitty

Watauga Animal Shelter

I live in North Fort Worth. I live 6 minutes from Watauga Animal Control. I live 30 minutes from…read moreFort Worth Animal Control. I brought in a stray cat from my neighborhood yesterday that had unfortunately gotten injured by dogs. She was not doing good at all and when I arrived at Watauga Animal Control for help, the lady double checked that she was still alive and told me that since I told her I lived in Fort Worth, she couldn't help. I begged and begged her to help because this cat was not going to make the drive to anywhere else but she wouldn't. I literally even tried saying "well I was wrong, I live in Watauga" because that's how desperate I was and the heartless woman still wouldn't help and sent me away. The cat died sometime on the drive to Fort Worth Animal Control (which had some of the nicest employees in the world). Jurisdiction is all fine and dandy but when it comes to a living being, shame on her for turning this cat away. I'm still shocked that it happened and wonder what kind of world is this. Honestly, I think this was situational and there are plenty of employees who wouldn't have turned her away. I just got the wrong one. But it was a very sad day.

these people are awful. We brought in a young cat who was living very rough in our apartment…read morecomplex. she was so sweet and she would come around and get fed by us frequently. We were the only ones she trusted to pet her but she never came inside. Always ran away because she was wild. One day I was able to wrangle her and we brought her into the shelter. We could not keep her as we have four other cats and one male who Is not yet neutered. Long story short, we brought her in thinking they would house her, spay her and hopefully home her. Hell, maybe we could have tried to arrange for her to come be a part of our lives. Instead, these incompetent people who work in ANIMAL SERVICE put her down because of her "behavioral issues" She never had issues. She was SO SWEET and gentle. Very tiny too. Not a threat to anyone. and they killed her in less than one week. seven days. Please don't take any strays or left behind animals here. They won't make it out.

What a wonderful service. TCAP has a very affordable spay/neuter service for feral cats (TNR / trap…read moreneuter release). We started feeding a neighbor's abandoned cat. Somehow the word got out to other cats, and at one point we had 5 feral cats at our door. When one showed up with a kitten, we knew action must be taken. We did some research and TCAP truly is the most affordable solution. They do amazing work, and we are very grateful. Today, 12/30/2026, I'm here with the last 2 cats. I missed the cutoff yesterday, so arrived here even earlier today. I'm number 2 and 3. There are already 5 cats lined up at 5:21 am. The limit is 12. TCAP opens at 8am. There are multiple locations in the Metroplex. Some locations are much busier than others, and the slots fill up fast. Do go to the website and read the requirements, as you will be turned away if not met. One requirement is that feral cats must be in live traps. Not boxes. Not pet carriers. Also a rabbies shot is mandatory. The ear of feral cats will be "tipped", so it can be identified as "fixed." One of the ferals we caught was tipped, and that's how we learned this. Staff is very helpful and friendly. So again, a big THANK YOU. PS. The low cost spay and neuter is avaliable only on Thursday and Friday, and I do believe doors open at 8am, not 9am as listed here on Yelp and the TCAP website. I will verify today, and update if necessary. Edit: The 8am time is only for the Thursday/Friday spay/neuter program.

The wait staff are very friendly & let me know when my cat was ready and lmk he was okay and resting . They also gave me a refund for one of the tests I wanted because they weren't able to do it. My kitty got neutered and he is very well and still a happy kitty. Thank you Coalition for doing it for the love & care of animals and not insane price margins. I will recommended people here forever!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. We started bringing out pets here about a year…read moreand a half ago after spending some time with another vet in the area - Alliance is not the cheapest, but it's definitely not the most expensive, and they really care about your pets. The first time I came I brought my older big dog, and Dr. B(rashear) spent extra time with me answering all my questions about my dog and even my other cats. Dr. Arendt is the sweetest, he took care of my kitties and made me feel better about my little rescue's heart murmur. And then there's Dr. O'Gorman. Dr. O'Gorman is like the frontline medic of the vetinary world. The Owen Hunt of small mammals. My oldest kitty had a reaction to her rabies vaccine last year, and I had to bring her for a last-minute visit to see Dr. O'Gorman, who was the only one free. He is efficient and no-nonsense, gave her a steroid shot and meds, and didn't charge us a thing. My dog had to have two large teeth extracted and as I was leaving, the vet tech said, "Dr. O'Gorman will be performing the procedure." Hell yeah. You can't go wrong with this place - even the front desk staff and techs are delightful, and they will spend as long as you need reviewing quotes, meds, and any questions you have. I'm happy to call Alliance our home vet!

AAHC has made getting prescription food and medication for our dog unnecessarily difficult…read more They stopped working with Chewy for prescription dog food and medications, so we started getting our dog's Vetcilin from Sam's Club. Recently, the pharmacist at Sam's called to tell me that AAHC is no longer sending them prescriptions. When I called AAHC to find out why, I was told they have a new system and no longer fax prescriptions because it is "too cumbersome." Instead, my options are to purchase the Vetcilin directly from AAHC or drive there to pick up a paper prescription and physically take it to another pharmacy. Seriously--how difficult is it to fax a prescription? This feels like an unnecessary inconvenience for customers who simply want the flexibility to fill their pet's prescriptions at the pharmacy of their choice. A new system should make things easier for customers, not create additional hurdles.
