Apollo Support and Rescue is an outstanding organization. The staff and leadership care deeply for the animals and places their needs at the highest level. Apollo staff works with them to prepare them socially for a better transition into their new family. These animals are just not numbers to push out the door - Apollo wants them to be ready physically and developmentally. The adoption fee is very reasonable for all it covers. The staff at the Justin rescue center are friendly and helpful. Recently, I had a stellar experience working with one of the staff for a puppy adoption. Best rescue that I have ever seen. There love, care and support go above an beyond. I could write a book, but here I will just cover the wave tops. We met Danielle and her wonderful team while actively engaged searching for our friends missing dog that had run away from their house shortly after being adopted. This started the "legend of Benni" after many weeks of searching, Danielle never gave up hope and encouraged her team, despite many emotions and numerous thoughts about where Benni might be or might have gone. We observed first hand what happens when caring people come together for a common cause with a motivated, caring leader. Yes it was a team effort, but we finally found Benni and she was returned to health. Out of this came our agreeing to serve as foster parents and we fell in love with one of the puppies we watched over and named her Benni in honor of our search for the other Benni months before. Now fast forward many month later and we still communicate and interact with Danielle and her awesome team of volunteers. I volunteer at Apollo often and it has become my favorite place to go! The love the caregivers at Apollo give to the dogs is unlike any other! Sometimes it is hard to get ahold of them because they are ridiculously busy and have so many dogs to take care of. If you need to reach them, try emailing them or going there in person. The dogs are walked, fed, and provided opportunity to interact with other dogs and people who visit if they are friendly. If you are considering adopting, please remember that the way a dog behaves changes drastically when they are put into a kennel! It can be overwhelming to go and look at the dogs and choose one to love forever when they are all barking at you, but they only bark because they want you to pick them. Some of the dogs will bark loudly and show their teeth at you and look very angry and aggressive, but the second you take them outside to play, they become the sweetest little things! Apollo is a no-kill shelter, and some of the dogs have been there for up to five years. Many of the employees there own several dogs. It is so important to give those animals a chance. There are dogs of many breeds, personalities, ages, and sizes. There can be one for everyone. If you can not adopt or don't feel that you could take care of your new best friend in your home, there are other options. Apollo allows people to foster dogs, as well as volunteer to help out. It is a great place for kids to get any volunteer hours they need for school, or for community service. Apollo Support and Rescue is also a nonprofit organization, and they need many donations to provide food for the dogs, as well as the bills to run the place. Vet expenses cost a lot! They always need donations and any help they can get. Once you volunteer one time, you fall in love with it, and you become part of their community and you become friends with the dogs. Five stars is not enough to express the eyeopening this shelter has done for me and the happiness it gives me to see these people pour their lives into their job there. If you can't adopt, donate. If you can't donate, volunteer. There are many ways you can help them, even a roll of paper towels is appreciated! Apollo support and rescue. They don't just "sell" the dogs to whom ever. Yes there are fees because these dogs cost money to rescue aka SAVE. Just like you'd expect to spend nearly 300$ at HSNT. But unlike shelters they don't ever euthanize because a dog isn't adopted. These dogs are dogs who'd probably die with out them. I have personally witnessed them chase down poor dogs for weeks trying to rescue them and finally get them to safety and a loving home. Many have heart worms or other issues and they treat them and do not charge extra. Most shelters often immediately euthanize this treatable disease. Kudos for all your hard work especially what I have personally seen. I once fell in love on line with a dog at an Apollo rescue foster but we just didn't mesh when we met. They were absolutely cool with that because you must make a life long commitment to this animal who should become your family. Thank you again for your awesome service!!! read more

Apollo is trying very hard to make a difference with rescue animals. Their facility is great and staff obviously loves dogs. They're incredible in finding support and placing animals In foster homes. This is an amazing rescue. Unfortunately, be warned that you may walk away being falsely accused of "beating" animals. My husband, our puppy, and I went to do an introduction to see if one of the sweet babies would become a new member of our family. When we left to discuss adoption, I was texted that I "told the staff I would beat the habit of jumping" out Leta, the doggie we wanted to adopt. Not only was this grossly untrue, but it was incredibly hurtful. As a company and adoption agency, I would recommend that Apollo be cautious in wrongfully accusing financial and adoption motivated animal loving supporters. We have chosen to adopt from another facility as this was incredibly hurtful, unkind, untrue, and ignorant. read more

I'm sorry, but this rescue facility lacks communication in all aspects. I've been trying to do a meet and greet with my dog and a dog I was interested in rescuing, but for some reason every time we would set up the time the foster parent couldn't make it. Also, the rescue facility themselves have yet to answer any emails that I sent especially the one with the adoption papers. You would think they would want to contact the person that is interested in rescuing one of their furbabies in a timely manner. It's also very weird that this rescue has no phone number listed for you to contact anyone. Very disappointed in this rescue. Definitely do not recommend. read more

We had been wanting to get a dog for awhile and definitely knew we wanted a rescue. I had been relentlessly stalking the Apollo Facebook and webpage for the past few months. Decided last Sunday to take a drive to the Petco in Watauga to see what they had available. We were greeted by a friendly, informative, well-organized staff. After looking at the dogs they had available, we found Grady (formerly Mystique). We have had her almost a week now and she has fit right in with our family. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and highly encourage anyone looking to adopt to check out Apollo Support and Rescue. Apollo Support & Rescue saves so many precious animals. They regularly pull animals from the euthanasia list before they are put to sleep.
