Had a great meal here and a couple glasses of beer. It was nice to have stumbled upon this place, having been within 6 miles of it for 5 years in a row now... without knowing it. I stay at burgdorf hot springs every October and usually head to McCall for snacks. But that was before finding this place. I'll be making this my new hangout while I'm the area. The staff were really cool, the food and drinks were great, and the setting was perfect. Looking forward to seeing it again next year.

Out of tomato, so our BLTs were BLB's (extra bacon!)

Love this place! If you're hiking, camping, fishing, enjoying the outdoors north of McCall, this is the place to put your feet up and have a cold beer and straight up good eats Things to know about Secesh Stage Stop It's NOT: - trendy - presumptuous - fancy - close to anything - open on Wednesdays It IS: - Awesome, if you're laid back and are happy to just be there. - a place to get a cold beer, including some local microbrews - the home of flexible cooking. We ordered BLT's. They were out of (T)omatoes, so the owner offered some extra (B)acon. We ended up with BLBs. Who can complain about MORE bacon! No extra charge and they were cheerfully offering options! Heck, I think he threw in extra fries.

Super rad spot! We had to snowmobile for about 25 miles up from McCall and it was well worth it! We had such a great time grabbing some beers, tater tots, burgers, and great ambience with the owner. Great views and the ride back and forth is incredible for a total of 50 miles on snowmobiles. Thank you again for the fun times! xx Jones Family

New ownership, cleaned up inside, amazing selection of drinks like canned cocktails (margarita, grey hound, Bloody Mary). Stopped in for lunch and had a fantastic burger loaded with jalapeños. They claim the fries are the best but I think the seasons tots were where it's at. Cool spot to check out that's completely off the grid

Highly recommend! The owners were so welcoming to our group and we enjoyed our time here. We snowmobiled in for lunch and drinks. Would love to visit again!

We stopped for lunch midway through our sledding adventure and the moment we walked in, the hospitality was amazing. Warm, cozy and the ambiance! Even better was the food and conversation. Hearing about how it started and the plans for the future. If you're in the area or planning a vacation, this is the place to go! Winter sledding or summer side by sides, they offer fun all year long!

First timer from Cali this weekend. Awesome employees and great hamburgers and fresh homemade fries.

Outside view of the Secesh Stage shop - pull up right on your snowmobile and walk in!

Our first stop of the day was the Stage Stop for an early lunch prior to our reservation time at Burgdorf.

All the wait staff were excellent. They came by several times to make sure everything was okay. The food came out quick, although the pub wasn't busy. Oh yes, to the food. The squeeze and I shared an order of finger steaks and fries. It is our norm to split an order for lunch. The meat tasted good, nice and tender. Spices in the coating decent. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. The dip for the finger steaks had a good amount of horseradish in it, wasn't overpowering but put heat into the bite. They did bring an extra plate, which was nice, and not to be charged for it is even better. They may have added some extra fries and fingers, don't know, but we were more than satisfied with the quality and quantity. Hippy Hopped Pale Ale had a nice taste of hops, kind of like a session IPA. The Mackinaw Red brew was oh so malty! It was a little cool in there.

The service was fast and prompt but the bartender had the mouth of a sailor…read more The beer - the Overhung IPA was nothing special that made me think about having two. The pretzel was good, and the hot, spicy mustard was good. Good for a mid-day snack after skiing. The place was kind of broken/trashy. We were sitting at the bar and noticed that the brewing supplies were a little gross. I thought brewers were clean? The signs were not updated and had a make-shift feeling. Sad to see what was once a great brewery is now trying to pick up its pieces.

This is a great little stop in the middle of nowhere. The service was fast and friendly. Our server…read morewas the only one working and he kept a smile on his face and kind words the whole time even though he was very busy. We tried a variety of items. Our faves were the buffalo chicken wings and steak bites with an interesting and tasty cocktail type sauce. We asked for our burger to be medium rare which was met with the response they would try but truly don't expect it. Well, he was right. Just take it like it comes. Consider yourself lucky there's even a place like this out there. The fries had a coating on them that we don't prefer, but it seems to be getting more popular. The ham and cheese was our least favorite. The flavor of the ham wasn't to our liking. The ambience was def worth it. Overall, a nice and relaxing stop.

This review is a really hard one to write, where do I even start…read more... And keep in mind, I sell food to restaurant for a living on the Oregon coast and I am very knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the restaurant industry. First off, if you look at the location of this establishment... they are REMOTE. They are so far out into the Idaho backcountry! It's just simply amazing that a place like this even exists this day and age. We rented snowmobiles in McCall and road them on the trail all the way to this place. We made this trip in -20 degree temps, and to say it was worth it is an absolute understatement. The service was outstanding! I really wish I could remember the name of our waitress, but I am HORRIBLE at remembering names. Luckily this town has a population of 8 people... So I am hopeful that she will get credit for this experience. We spent an entire week in the Cascade and McCall Idaho area and ate out at MANY restaurants. The sad thing about that is that the best food we had the entire trip was at the Baum Shelter! A little restaurant in the middle of no where can provide better service and better food than the places in Cascade and McCall?!? And they don't even have running water in the winter! All the other places we ate at should be ashamed of themselves. We ate at Grandmas and Reo's pizza in Cascade, and we ate at Lardos and McCall Brewing in McCall. These restaurants get food delivered right to their back door from places like Sysco or US foods. And on top of that, they have a bigger population available to staff their establishment and more selection to hire well qualified people. How is it that a place like the Baum Shelter can have better food, better service and better ambiance than a place in town!? For crap sake, the Baum Shelter has to ride a snowmobile 30 miles each way to McCall in the winter, once a week to get food for the restaurant. That's INSANE. We started off with Jalapeno poppers and mushroom soup. The poppers were fresh, hot and delicious. They were hand made poppers and they were not breaded and fried like most other places. These jalapenos were filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon, and they do not disappoint. The Hungarian mushroom soup was outstanding, and believe me... this was not soup from a can. This was house made from scratch and had a depth of flavor and quality. We then had a burger and chicken strips. The burger was awesome! Good quality patty, good quality cheese, good hearty ciabatta bun and cooked to perfection! And a house made BBQ Sauce, which was to die for. And as the chicken strips, they are probably the best chicken strips I've had at a place. When we ordered them, I just assumed they would be some pre made Tyson product that is pre breaded and just deep fried... but NO! These were hand breaded and cooked perfectly. They do a unique cornmeal style breading on the chicken strips that I have not seen since I lived in South Carolina. And they were not dry either, which was awesome. Even served with HOUSE MADE ranch, which was way better than the crap in a bottle. Hands down a totally fantastic visit at this place and we look forward to returning soon! Absolutely without a doubt in my mind 10/10 would 100% recommend this establishment.
