a group of people in a dark room
    Dave C.

Imagine an office conference room, with laptop, decent sound system, a couple mics, and most importantly BYOB. This is basically SBK in a nutshell. $5.50 per person, per hour (this is amazingly cheap) and great for group events. Hosted a celebration for my big sister's 40th here and the group had a great time. Owners were a friendly older couple and made a couple accommodations for us which I really appreciated. One minor complaint is that the rooms can get a bit warm with all the singing, dancing (and drinking) so dress accordingly. All in all, a surprising find for the area and a good spot for no-frills group karaoke.

The rented karaoke machine at a party we threw at Urban Light Studios. They delivered, setup, and picked up!

We hired SBK for party we were throwing at Urban Light Studios (awesome venue BTW!). We turned one of their side rooms into a karaoke room and it was a HUGE hit. The system is pretty bad ass, comes with a speaker, screen and laptop. They have a really big selection of songs, including current ones. The system was also pretty easy to use as I saw a lot of people in the karaoke room at different times that I knew weren't 'trained' in how to use it, so they just figured it out. And it was really reasonable. We had it from 7pm-1a for a little over $200, AND they deliver, set it up, and pick up the system from the venue. SO SO SO worth it. We communicated with Shinji who always responded to emails quickly and delivered and picked up the machine. So great. Our guests LOVED the system and we were even thinking about renting it just for our house to throw a karaoke party it was that popular. Definitely an awesome and reliable system if you want to throw a bad ass karaoke party, or if you want to make your party even that much more fun!

Wonderful owner and very friendly. He accommodated all our questions and needs. Very sad they might not be able to operate anymore.

This is hands down the best karaoke spot in Seattle. You get a private room and it's BYOB and BYOF.

Not really a place to eat inasmuch as a place to just hang out, have drinks and - most importantly…read more- sing your heart out in karaoke no matter your skill level! My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night around 8pm and basically spent all of our time out in the front where the bar is since that's where open karaoke is. To queue songs to sing, you need to use a website called Healsonic to search for the song titles or artist names (you get to it using a QR code). You write down your initials, the song number of the song you want to sing and the song title, then pass it to someone behind the counter to the immediate left of the entrance. Song choices are not limited to just songs in English; you can choose songs from a variety of languages, and I got a chance to sing one of my favorite Cantonese oldies at one point. From past experiences singing karaoke here, there's always at least one mic out of the two passed around the crowd that isn't working properly and I end up singing louder than needed on that one mic. Regardless, my friends and I have always had a great time laughing, testing our vocals and just enjoying ourselves as if we were clubbing! I haven't yet been to any of their karaoke rooms, though I do hear prices for them are relatively high from others who've used them. One of my friends and I got their My Melody drink, which consists of coconut cream, pineapple and a pink sugar rim. Drink tasted kinda cheesy... literally. Must have been the cream but I downed the drink fast; it was refreshing for the environment (though a little heavy on the vocal cords) and not too sweet. It is on the pricier end, about $8 before tax. This is a well-run place regardless of the number of people that fill up open karaoke and the karaoke rooms themselves. Staff are friendly and acommodating especially with refilling water, following up on karaoke queuing mistakes and serving drinks. I see myself and my friends coming back here more often!

I asked the prices super casually, I'm from out of town. The lady, and guy was kind. But the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, terrible... what would you call it? The door knobs were sideways, there were no paper towels, I don't mind hovering.., that's part of the night life. But what is this. The karaoke, itself, mics were cool, but the tablet was either super sensitive or you had to reset..., 10,000 times to get a song. Overall, come here for a last minute thing, but don't expect an amazing time. Singing at home with friends is a better experience and much cheaper.

The tablets for entering your info and song run terribly slow. Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked, though not labeled well--women's restroom is straight down the hall, men's is to the right just after the photo booth. Unless they're meant to be unisex, but I don't think that's the case? This place is PACKED wall to wall after 8pm Fridays and Saturdays, and I've never dropped in those nights where it wasn't an upbeat and pretty cheery vibe. When I say packed, I mean that you should wear an outfit where you can take off layers, because it gets WARM. On the weekends the song queues can get LONG but you're able to manually check where you're at in line via the tablets. If you wanna leave before 12am, get there and put your song in no later than 8pm. Expect a $5 cover on weekends, too, though sometimes it's $10. Which is crazy. And yet, I still pay it... People are super nice and if you aren't bringing a posse out with you, a lot of folks don't mind you sitting with them at their tables if it's busy and they have an extra seat open. A lot of times people will get down by the stage and dance to songs people are performing, which is just the best when it happens. All in all, the Hula Hula crowd tends to have a great mindset for karaoke. All about having a good time to good music.

We had 12 people in our group and were given a spacious room for our time there. There is a tablet affixed to the wall that you use to search and queue up songs. I was impressed with the selection as there were many popular English, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese songs and even more in other languages. There was also a QR code that would come up on the screen occasionally that took you to a page on your phone that also allowed you to search for and queue up songs. The tablet is also used to control lights, mic volume, song volume, echo effects, and toggle vocals on/off. There are some pre-built playlists by genre or artists but you can also just use the search function. I was particularly impressed that the on-screen keyboard had a pad you could use to write out the letters/characters of a song you are looking for (useful for searching for some Asian songs). Although they didn't have every single song we searched for, there were more than enough top hits to keep us all entertained and happy for the 2 hours we were there. They charge if you bring in outside food or drinks, but birthday cake is the exception! We took advantage of that and brought some cupcakes for our guest of honor. I do wish the mics had some mic covers for hygiene purposes and that there was a way to control the temperature in the room. It got a little warm throughout the night. There were no tambourines at first, but when we asked, the front gave us a pair. I highly recommend giving Enkore a try if you're looking for a chill karaoke spot. This included $1 for an outside beverage. Its honestly worth the $1 compared to their pricey menu. You can look up off of Youtube for songs but you have to download the video and downloading it takes so long. We were only able to get one song off of it. Plus you cant even see the status of the download. Overall, I still recommend EnKore. The music volume and microphone volume are easily adjustable. If they have a problem, they will go into your room, but each time we temporarily raise the volume for songs we are jamming out to, we have had no problems.
