I've been going to Specialty Dentistry for 6 years. The last year has been the worst. They don't have an appointment reminder notification set to send you a text message The day before the appointment. When you miss your appointment, you obviously have to pay a fee. But when you make your appointment 6 months out, it's hard to remember the date. Whenever you do make it to your appointment, they're not sure exactly how much to charge you. So they will send you a bill 6 months later with the balance that you've had with late fees. Whenever you go to pay the bill, their website doesn't work. Whenever you go to pay the bill when their website is working, you have to know your account number, you have to know the statement number. You also have to know the exact dollar amount. The care they provide isn't the issue. It's 100% administrative, I just feel like other places are the total package. I'm moving on to a different provider. Edit. My account and my partners account were both setup with the same number, my number. Everytime they had an appointment I would get notifications. I opted out of notifications after constantly getting notifications about their appointments. Not realizing that it also opted my account out as well. It's interesting that I opted out of notifications but still received text messages telling me I had a past due balance? I was told they were different text notification systems. read more

Amazing multi specialties doctor!! Dr.Pavinee is a triple-trained Operative-Perio-Prosthodontist. She is very knowledgeable and very kind, she did a thorough exam on me and took time to explain all the procedures to me until I ha e no further questions. The give me the best experience ever going to the doctor to fix my teeth. The team was amazing and friendly, one took me up the elevator with her when she noticed I was unsure which floor to go. The office was really clean and organized, it's so pretty when I heard it's going to have a renovation it must be the best in the building. Dr Pavinee did a lot of work on my teeth - most of which was fine. The final piece was a replacement of my lower dental retainer which never fit properly and couldn't be used to eat or talk. I had already paid over $2000 for it, but when I was billed an additional $2500 I requested that they adjust it to fit. I even had a solution I wanted them to try. The front desk (you NEVER talk to the dentist or her assistants) told me they had done all they could for me, that the problem was my mouth shape, and that I could pay the remainder or return the retainer. I took it in and they immediately threw it in the trash. They virtually left me without a working retainer and didn't care a bit. So beware - they don't care. read more

Dr. Bryant unfortunately passed away and his associate Dr. Jung retired about a year ago. Therefore, the office now has a new staff. Instead of calling patients to inform them that apts would be scarce they had me sitting in the waiting room over an hour past my apt time waiting. I checked with the desk twice after my initial checking in and they kept telling me 10-15 minutes. As a service member who gets about 2 weeks per year to spend with my family it's important for me to have my apts when I schedule them. They need to gather some common sense on how they deal with their clientele and scheduling apts. People who walked in the officer after me were getting seen before me as well as clients that they personally called saying they had time to be seen instead of dealing with the patient who called MONTHS in advance for my apt. I went to Seattle Specialty Dentistry to get my front four teeth bonded and am very happy with the results! I actually went to a different dentist in the area initially but he was so cold that I decided against it. Dr. Pavinee was the exact opposite, super warm and friendly. I had no pain during the bonding procedure and she explained each step of what she was doing. Because she is a prosthodontist it was more expensive than the bonding I would've gotten at a general dentist. However, bonding front teeth requires a lot of skill and precision and I was happy to pay the extra cost to make sure they were done just right. In fact Dr. Pavinee went back several times to ensure that the teeth looked perfect, which I appreciated. Definitely worth the trip into downtown Seattle for the perfect smile. read more

Last year, after researching dentists to death, I finally took the plunge and got the coloring in my tooth fixed. If you are considering any kind of cosmetic dentistry, when it comes to Dr. Junge, I say get it done NOW. Based on the huge difference it made in my life, I know I waited far too long. Here's my story. The nerves in my right front tooth died when I was 12 after an accident. The tooth itself was still "good"/healthy, but over time it would discolor and turn a yellow/gray. Over the years I tried various things - bleaching from the inside, whitening, etc. I never considered veneers or crowns because a) I can usually tell - they look fake; and b) I thought it was too expensive for me! Well, I was wrong. One consultation with Dr. Junge and his knowledgeable staff, and I knew I was in the right hands. You know that feeling when you're shy about something, so you hold back a bit? Or you peer at every photo taken of you, looking for that one flaw that stands out? For me, this was my smile. Only now do I realize how much this was detracting from my life. In my case, Dr. Junge advised I get veneers on the front four teeth, as these must match in color. Veneers are NOT fake teeth - they simply shave down the front of your own tooth and install a colored slide on the front. They can also re-shape to make everything very even and symmetrical. Dr. Junge had me go out to Mill Creek to meet with their colorist, a man who does this full-time just to produce realistic yet beautiful colors based on what you have and what you need for the best individualized product possible. Absolutely amazing compassionate folks here, my brand new all on four implants that were done out of state in a different office entirely failed on a Sunday night, I spent all day Monday trying to contact my original clinic to no avail, I called this office just prior to closing on Monday and explained my dilemma, they got me in first thing Tuesday morning, explained what happened with my implant and directed me how to go about fixing it, they made sure my implant was again attached to my jaw before I was permitted to leave. I really wish I had had my entire procedure done here, quality staff, and doctors. If I'm ever back in Seattle and need emergency dental this will be my office. Although I was satisfied with Dr. Pavinee's dental work I decided to take my business elsewhere after discovering that she wasn't requiring her staff to be vaccinated against covid and, in fact, wasn't even inquiring about their vaccination status. The staff person who took my call even implied that HIPAA prevented Dr. Pavinee from asking employees about their vax status which is, of course, nonsense and leads me to believe that there may be some antivax sentiment in the office. Read in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine that Dr. Bryant and Dr. Junge were rated as top dentist in Seattle. After researching about their credentials and seeing that some of the procedures I needed to have done were there specialties I decided to go in for a consultation. They examined my teeth and assessed a game plan to get my smile perfect! I came in for a cleaning, then had a few teeth capped. The front desk ladies were total sweethearts, remembered my name, and were very organized and helped to secure appointments close to each other to get my work done. Dr. Bryant is a perfectionist of the dentistry world. He is very focused and has a dry sense of humor which I appreciated. His assistant, a bubbly Asian girl, added humor and warmth to the whole process and never skipped a beat. I hate to rain on this love-fest with dr. Bryant, but I have a different story. Dr. Bryant built me an upper denture and lower partial from the ground up..it was never right. I told him time and again about ill fit and pain, and that I couldn't put any pressure into a bite. Eating a piece of even the most tender meat was impossible. He got frustrated with me every time I returned, but dentures cost a LOT of money and I wanted mine to fit right. He got increasingly annoyed with me, accusing me of clenching my jaw--which I do not do--and saying I was bringing the trouble on myself. Finally he did a reline, but it was never right either. In the course of my seeing him, he pointed out a few other minor cavities. We discussed the situation, and mutually agreed that I would see another dentist in my neighborhood because of cost, dental insurance coverage and the hour traveling time it took to see him. I went to another dentist and had an extraction in the course of getting my cavities filled. I then went back to dr. Bryant, who did another lower reline, which again, was loose and wobbly. It was worse than ever, flopping around in my mouth, the metal snagging on my teeth, getting tons of gunk underneath both sides when I tried to eat. I paid top dollar for the remake. So I went back again, hoping he had a fix for me, another reline, something. I told him I thought he'd done the original reline while my gum was still very swollen, and now the lower was loose for that reason. Bottom line, he told me he was NOT doing another reline, I needed a new partial from the bottom up, he couldn't work with me because I was seeing two dentists. He gave me the bum's rush and walked out of the office while I was still talking. I'm pretty upset. First, he TOLD me to see another dentist. Second, I would have paid for another partial if that was what it took. He left me in pain, with an unresolved dental issue, when he was the dentist who had made the appliance In the first place. I'm angry, distressed and left with a lower partial that hurts and cuts me. I can never in good conscience recommend this dentist, a guy who doesn't follow through with or guarantee his work, someone who leaves his patient in pain and with no clear course of action. Get this: I have been happily coming to this office on a regular basis for TWENTY-TWO years now, starting when I moved to Seattle at age 18 in 1994. I can't believe it! There was no Yelp then, I wouldn't own a cell phone for six more years, and I was using dial-up internet. So I guess you might say I have some experience with this office and that this review is long, long overdue! I really struck gold when an acquaintance recommended Dr. Bryant to me. I liked his manner and technique immediately. He's like the kind of person you HOPE you get seated next to on an airplane. I've also seen Dr. Junge for years now, too, and he is also amazing. They have helped me and my teeth through the years in countless ways. They are also both really congenial, outgoing, easy to communicate with/ understand, and endlessly patient. I don't even have a favorite, I have two dentists, what grand luck is that? I have referred so many people to this office over the years, always with good feedback from them. One friend had not been to a dentist in ten years and was very afraid. That was 16 years ago and he is still seeing Dr. Bryant to this day. He was immediately comfortable with Dr. Bryant, no small feat on the doctor's part! He never made my friend feel "bad" about his teeth. You don't go in worrying about getting a big lecture, because they are understanding and find nice ways to encourage you and honestly just want to help you and your teeth the best they can. The office has always been run flawlessly. It is clean, inviting, well-organized and not an overly fancy place, which I find most comfortable. I've had nothing but positive experiences over roughly 50+ visits now, so I'd say they are pretty darn consistent. They keep everything well organized and stay on time. I've watched them upgrade, keeping at the forefront of new technology. They have just improved and improved as the years go by. Do you want me to tell you the name of the magical, extraordinary hygienist I request (err, demand...) every single time I get my teeth cleaned? No other person has cleaned my teeth, not since I sat in her chair on my first visit 22 years ago. And I diligently go in every six months because She is a NINJA of teeth cleaning, she never slips, it doesn't hurt AT ALL and she's become like a good friend over the decades whom I always enjoy "catching up" with. She works well people who are tentative or needing a little extra TLC. But don't you DARE eat a brownie or a cheeseburger and then go in to see her without brushing and flossing after, you hear me? Her name is Joan and because of her, having my teeth cleaned is fun and painless. I think her secret is not just a lot of experience and natural skill, but also years of work she did on people with gum disease where she learned how to be extra gentle. Joan is one in a billion! And fun to chat with. She's the kind of person who, if you had to stand in a long line, standing next to her would help make the time go faster. She is an easy-going, super-nice person who genuinely cares for the people in her chair and, despite her accolades, she still strives to learn more and do better work. Kudos to Joan! I have to think that any negative review this office gets can only be from a chronically unhappy person, (who is never angry about what they think they are angry about), and what a shame they would bother this wonderful office/group of people. TL;DR: You won't regret coming to this dental office. Read on for the personal version. I don't think anyone has great things to say about their dental history. I know I don't. I've been screwed over every which way but happy with dentists. The most recent one, before Dr. Junge, botched up 16--count 'em 16--veneers. 4 years after application, they all started keeling over like they were all secretly apart of some religious cult. When this happened, Dr. Junge and his team were a godsend. No joke. Every other week, a new veneer decided to up and pop off. Any dentist as popular and prestigious as Drs. Bryant and Junge were sure to have fully booked schedules. And surely they did. But I'll be damned, each time I needed Dr. Junge and his team, they were there for me. Oh, another veneer fell off? We'll see you tomorrow, first thing. I can't even explain the thanks I have for this dental office. Always willing to cope with my weird anxieties, deeply rooted in years of shitty dental experiences. They are empathetic, responsive, and honestly concerned about their patients' well-being. And if you're having a dental crisis, whether it's real or just partially real and also psychological, they'll make you feel at home. They'll make you feel cared for. Taken care of. That's exceedingly rare with dentists. The whole office, from administration to technicians to Dr. Junge. They're just good, smart people. Do yourself a favor and come visit them. One of the downsides of moving across the country is leaving behind the stable crop of excellent professionals you've managed to find in your time in any given city, and my dentist in Boston was truly fab. Good dentists are hard to put a price on, as anyone who has had a bad experience would be quick to confirm. Yelp did me a solid on this one, though. The glowing reviews seemed promising, the website reassuringly professional, and the photo portfolio of dental work very attractive -- an extra bonus for me, since I left Boston in the middle of a process to get porcelain veneers. I also have jaw problems -- TMJ. On my first visit, I mentioned both of the above. We made another appointment for the usual gamut of x-rays, wax impressions and molds, as well as a CT scan and regular high-res photos of my teeth, smile, and profile. Measurements of my head/face were taken so that Dr. Bryant could mock up the molds on a moving device that would simulate my bite. He put these things together into a very thorough presentation for me -- OVER HIS BIRTHDAY WEEKEND -- and then explained my entire dental situation to me over the course of about an hour with Casey Johnson (I think) also present. They wanted me to understand the full range of options I had before I made a final decision as to whether or not to go forward with porcelain veneers, including several far less intensive (and less expensive) choices open to me. I saw, and learned, things about my teeth and jaw that I didn't know -- even after the level of care I'd had in Boston. I felt very equipped to make a decision, and really grateful for the amount of time invested in ensuring that I knew everything I'd need to make the right one. tl;dr: I'm going to let these people put my veneers in, and feel 100% comfortable about doing that. Having had a bad experience at another office during an extraction/implant, I had put off having another extraction done for about 4 years. It finally became time to just get it done and I tentatively looked around for a new practice to do the deed. In my search, I emailed Bryant and Junge for information and began a series of communications with Casey (the office manager?). She answered all of my questions (via email) and put me at ease, understanding that my previous experience was bad and assuring me that Bryant and Junge were awesome. Had a consult and Dr. Junge. He eliminated the contact on the affected tooth to see if it would help over a few weeks (good first step; didn't help). He also explained that, after the extraction, I may simply decide to not have an implant placed (not trying to sell me something). The tooth didn't improve so I had the extraction done a couple days ago. While there's not sugar coating having a tooth pulled, the procedure went extremely fast. Dr. Junge is extremely efficient. I have not seen any blood, had little pain and, since it is the back tooth, I can't even see the stitch(es). Minimal swelling and pain, no bruising. The office staff is extremely knowledgeable. It doesn't seem to matter who you talk to; everyone seems to know what is going on. We'll see what happens if I decide to proceed with the implant in a few months. Once you find a good dentist and hygienists, as well as a friendly office staff, why switch? While I have changed careers and homes, most of the staff that works with Dr. Bryant has remained constant. It is very rare these days to find that in any environment. These are some dedicated people, who obviously work well together. Finally, after years of denial, dental disrepair, and switching from dentist to dentist, I was able to convince my husband to go to my dentist. I will not go into all of my complicated background but suffice it to say, I believe Dr. Bryant was certainly able to impress me and other dentists around the world! I meant this because we have lived around the world since I've become a patient of Dr. Bryant's and I've done my best to revisit him whenever I have the opportunity to be in Seattle. We are in San Antonio now and I recently needed an implant. (a tooth that Dr. Bryant was able to preserve for more than 10 yrs knowing ONE day, it would not survive). I sought out the best Prosthodontist in SAT and his remarks about Dr. Bryant's work was very impressive! Now that's coming from one who knows his stuff! Fortunately, we are finally moving back to Seattle next week. Unfortunately, my teenage daughter just had a horrible accident yesterday and broke her two front teeth. I will wait until we get to Seattle to make sure Dr Bryant (or Dr. Junge) is the only one who cares for her as I know and trust their work. Okay, just to let you know, I HATE going to the dentist. Would rather give birth to a baby without anesthetic. When I see the ad for 1-800 dentist on TV, I change channels. So my sis dragged me in to her dentist (who was her secretary's long time dentist). Oh, I probably forgot to mention that over the years of avoiding dentists, things were getting out of control. It's not that I didn't try to take care of my teeth, brushing, flossing and all of that. And I did spend lots of money on them. But my teeth just kept deteriorating and it got to the point where I gave up. Enter Dr. Junge. He looked into my mouth and didn't collapse, didn't lecture me on taking care of my teeth, just calmly gave me 3 choices of treatment plans. He is not chatty at all, but I trusted him right away. So after only 4 appointments, my teeth are BEAUTIFUL, much better than I'd ever imagined. I just want to run around smiling at people, which was very hard for me before. And the treatments didn't hurt - he takes great care to be slower, but do things the right way. To wrap it up, I've probably had 10 dentists in my life, and Dr. Junge puts them all to shame. I'm so thankful I found Dr. Bryant. In my 52 years, I've have multiple dentists who did multiple procedures (starting at age 5 when all my baby teeth molars got silver caps) so I've always dreaded dentists. When I decided on a much needed cosmetic change, I started looking for a dentist who specialized in this area. Fortunately, I met Dr. Bryant who immediately made me comfortable. He's kind, extremely competent (staying current on all recent techniques and procedures) and very professional. His entire office staff is so friendly, and they make you feel like you are part of their family. We have completed gum grafting and temporary crowns on my upper teeth, and it looks great already. I'm looking forward to getting my permanent crowns, and then we'll start work on my lower teeth. My situation is complicated due to a front implant placed at another facility, but Dr. Bryant patiently worked out a solution that allowed me to keep my current implant, but improved the aesthetics. I have a front tooth that suffered trauma. I scheduled a consult with Bryant and Junge for options for the tooth. First visit: I showed up 10 minutes early, checked in and sat in the lobby and proceeded to play around on my phone. During this time, the receptionist spent her time calling people about her time share. 45 minutes after my appointment, I'm still in the lobby and my phone rings, it's the receptionist, the same one that checked me in asking me if I was going to show up for my appointment. Although, apologetic and offered free x-rays, I felt some deception by the receptionist when Dr Junge felt a need to explain to me about letting the receptionist know I've arrived. Dr Junge was nice and friendly and so was the hygienist, he explained my options and how bonding my tooth would be better than implant or a bridge. He was detailed and made me feel comfortable. We decided that I would come back in 2 weeks for a 2 hour appointment. They estimated the cost around $1000 before insurance. My 2nd visit: I was called a few days before my visit and was told that Dr Junge was out on emergency but that Dr bryant would be available. fine. The day of my appointment, 45 after my appointment was to begin, Dr bryant shows up and proceeds to tell me that he has to clean my teeth. Dr bryant starts cleaning my teeth, tools malfunction and the dental hygienist shoots ice cold water directly on my teeth, they were perplexed why this hurt. During the cleaning, Dr bryant was called out on a phone call and I was left in the chair laying down I'm not sure why the hygienist couldn't finish up. He finally comes back and again the tools aren't working, they finally get them to work and ask me if I want something for the pain shots, just stop shooting cold water directly on my teeth it would be fine, most use lukewarm water. He proceeds to finish and it was not a pleasant experience, BTW, I do not have sensitive teeth. After the teeth cleaning, Dr bryant proceeds to tell me that the bonding is just temporary but if I want him to do it, he will. Wait, wait, if I want him too? this is what I was told was the best solution by his partner, I'm confused. Dr bryant proceeds to tell me that the three teeth need to be pulled, I need a bridge and implants and I believe a flipper until all that can get done. Wait, wtf, his partner and my previous dentist both said that the surrounding teeth were healthy and only if I ever lost them naturally would a bridge or implant need to be done. Now I'm being told that over $30k of work will need to be done and what do I want to do? I'm like I came here for a bonding, not that my heart is set on a bonding, I'm just being told something completely different, that is totally opposite of what I've been told and I need to make a decision right now on how to proceed. He then says that he would like to pull these three teeth today but if I really want the bonding he'll do it but it'll be just temporary. I'm seriously upset and feel like a bait and switch has taken place, my trauma tooth is loose why am I all of the sudden being told that I have two other healthy teeth as described by other dentists need extensive work. I tell them that I'm leaving and the hygienist, who was there for both appointments, tried to tell me that nothing has changed and that they will do the bonding. NOTHING HAS CHANGED! She was sitting right there when Dr Junge said that the surrounding teeth were strong and in good shape and so much so he didn't want to do a bridge because that would cause unnecessary trauma to these teeth. I simply said that I'm being told completely different information and that now I need a second opinion and I walked out, an hour and 45 minutes after my appointment was supposed to begin. I was in a vulnerable situation, where I was in the chair, tools out and not even being given an explanation of how Dr bryant felt this issue escalated to such an invasive and extreme path. I'm not given any time to process, just simply what do you want to do. They seemed perplexed and lacked compassion on why I was leaving, why I was angry and confused. I advocate my health and this didn't seem right, I don't understand why perfectly healthy teeth need to be removed because a single dentist says and how he would lack any understanding of how I would feel confused by this. I feel like I was in a state of agreement, I don't just agree to things without having all the information and no one should and no one should feel the way that I felt. I wasn't even offered a pamphlet on what his suggested procedure would look like, I wasn't offered resources or reasons just left with his $30k suggestion, like it was no big thing and what do you want to do? I am so thrilled to have found Dr. Junge. He is a true artist of a dentist. I'm super particular about dentists as both my uncle and my cousins are dentists and both have taught at USC. After moving to Seattle, I went through quite a few before "finding" Dr. Junge. I am so pleased with the BEAUTIFUL work he has done and the level of thought he has put into the decisions about my dental care. I was getting ortho done at Leone & Vaughn Orthodontics and they recommended I go see Dr. Bryant at Seattle Specialty Dentistry to get some composite work done on the front since mine was starting to wear away. I didn't want crowns or veneers since my teeth were great already. I got the composite work done and my teeth look awesome. Dr. Bryant freehand composite / color work is amazing. My visit at Dr. Junge's office highlighted the difference between "in it for the money" and "true patient care." I chose this office after reading Yelp reviews and other research. I needed a new dentist since my previous dentist, Dr. Fared Bell (Ranked #2 in Seattle by Doctoroogle.com) retired. Upon making the appointment, I was informed I needed to pay $107.00 for a dental exam prior to the cleaning. It was explained this was a thorough exam and necessary for new patients and is a one time fee. At my appointment, about half way through the cleaning, Dr. Junge enters the room and introduces himself, looks at my teeth, asks my to bite down, tells me my teeth look great, advises me on the benefits of getting x-rays and leaves. This could not have taken more than five minutes. So that is $107 for about 5 minutes of the doctor's time. At an hourly rate, this works out to almost $1300! Upon paying my bill, I was informed I would have to pay $81 if I ever wanted the doctor to examine my mouth - otherwise the hygienist just does the cleaning. I'm shocked by this. Where is the supervision that insures the hygienist will do a good job cleaning if his/her work is not inspected by the doctor? Prior to this, I have never been to a dental office where you have to pay extra to have the doctor review the hygienist's work and check for problems and will not continue to see one that does. ***For those who have never experienced better, my previous dentist would inspect the cleaning (usually spend a few minutes cleaning as well), inspect my mouth/throat for cancer, feel for abnormalities in cheeks, gums and throat and advise me on any areas of concern. The hygienist would also measure my gums to check for inflammation. This was all included in the $145.00 cleaning fee. read more
