They also sell some jewelry, decor, and gift items, including some really lovely vintage glassware. I like that you can find unique pieces here that aren't exactly the same as everyone else. I've bought holiday gifts for friends here, and quite a lot of clothing for my 20 year old daughters and myself. The service here is great, and the sales clerks will load up your dressing room with suggestions for you to try on, which is dangerous but fun. The starting price point for vintage items here is in the $45+ range, the new clothing starts around the same. Today I left lusting after a super cool beaded vintage vest that I definitely do not need, but think is so cool.

They are a little pricey, think $40-70 for most individual items (shirts or pants), sometimes more. But the stuff they sell is mad cute! Things are ordered inside by color, and they even have a small section of stuff that is all made in Italy (like 100% linen). They have lots of Texas-type goodies, even things like used cowboy boots, and of course hats and jeans. They have little body stuff as well, like lotions and soaps, near (if not all) of which is locally made. Overall this is a super cute place! I suppose they do also do some sales because they did an individual bag sale yesterday that apparently sold out VERY fast (they give you a bag and it's $20 even for whatever you can fit in it from a select pile of items). If you like thrifting, vintage, and boho/texas-y looking stuff this would be a good spot to check out! They have some limited parking out front, maybe 6-7 spots but when I came on a Monday afternoon there were only two other cars there so plenty of spots avai

This place bills itself as a thrift store, but the prices are more in line with what you'd see in a consignment store. The aisles are very narrow in order to accommodate all the merchandise. They definitely have some collectible items, including some vintage stereo stuff. Inside you'll also find appliances, toys, furniture, tons of clothes, home decor, drum sets and electronics. They do offer sale prices on certain color tags which are likely the items that have been sitting around for a while. About half the space is given over to clothing and accessories, you'll also find three dressing rooms to try them on. This business doesn't just accept donations, they will purchase them as well. This thrift store carries a higher quality number of goods by far than your average Goodwill, but then again they are priced higher. Plenty of photos to peak your interest below.

Garment is a sought-after designer vintage shop in Austin. Located on South Lamar, the shop offers a carefully curated collection of high quality women's vintage pieces. The selection embodies fashion forward vintage including well preserved and visually appealing garments. Garment has a boutique rather than a thrift shop persona. I like that clothing was loosely hung on the racks for ease of perusing the items. Bailey, the sales representative, was super patient and kind. She happily showed me anything I wished to see in the store particularly those pieces that were under lock and key. She also offered to reach out to a jewelry designer for different ring sizes...so kind of her. Garment Modern + Vintage is a great destination vintage aficionados and fashion enthusiasts. There were two gentlemen behind the front desk. One asked what I was looking for. I said I was looking for some eyeglass frames, which they recommended another store. I also mentioned something about us looking around before our flight. Wanting to still explore the store, I complimented the store, and politely asked if they wouldn't mind telling me a bit about their store. All of a sudden, one person behind the desk stated that he was too old for this, and that he just didn't feel like talking, and said it's his day off. The other person with him didn't say anything, so I just walked away, and then decided to call and Uber and leave the area. Having spent much of my working career with critically ill people who are often having the worst days of their lives, I can admit to many moments where I am super tired and frustrated with things in my own life, and understand needing to take a step away, have a minute to regroup, take a breather etc. But how am I supposed to know it's your day off if you're behind the counter, and asked me what I was looking for? what about the other person who I'm assuming was working..couldn't they have chosen to just say a few words? If they felt I was looking for a long explanation, I think a reply saying something like I'll give you the short version would have sufficed. It did made me wonder what it was about me and friends that made it seem appropriate to reply in that manner. Is the attitude some type of gimmick I'm not aware of? Im not necessarily angry, Just felt disappointed. Made me wonder what I had to look like to get treated nicely. Maybe it's the fact half my outfit is from Costco, the other half from Marshall's. (I'm still quite proud of all that). And my friend was carrying her Vera Bradley luggage haha. Well who knows, and I do see the work put into that store and am assuming there's a lot of thought and talent put into it. So take what you will, I think this review is more of a reflection of my confusion. Either way, the rest of my time in Austin was absolutely divine and people were kind and interesting!
