We found a beautiful townhome in Huntington Beach on Zillow and reached out to West Point Properties multiple times with no response. My husband eventually found the cell phone number of the person showing the property, Laura, and texted her several times. Again no response. It was only after calling the property manager, John, who sounded irritated with Laura's lack of follow up, that she finally replied, but only to me and not to my husband. When we arrived for the showing she was late. From across the courtyard the first words we heard were "are you waiting for me." There was no introduction or professionalism. She quickly unlocked the door and then stood outside the entire time while we toured. She never engaged with us, asked if we had questions, or showed any interest. It was very clear she did not want to be there. Afterwards I sent her a thank you email hoping to brighten her day. She never replied. I followed up a few days later and finally got a short "I'll find out tomorrow" response. After another email I was told someone else had been approved. The entire experience was off putting and disappointing. We will not be looking for a new place through this property management company again.

So when I found 37112 Palo Verde St, it could not have been a more perfect, despite some management problems. But what made this apartment a joy for me , was Saywitz employee Racheal Cravitz! Honestly, had it not been for Racheal acting outside of her actual job duties, I would not have gotten most of the maintenance requests taken care of. I wouldn't have been able to speak to someone who actually really cares and shows you that she cares in her actions. Racheal goes out of her way to try to make it as easy as possible, even in the way she allows and takes payment for each month, and not one time have I ever seen her lose her patience or her cool even when I would call frustrated. Again, many of the problems I would bring to Racheal were not part of her job duty or job description. Racheal never used that as an excuse to not help the residents. She would always listen and then say "James I will speak to the right people and you'll hear back from me soon with a solution." She kept her word and because of her, I even renewed my lease when my home was taking a little longer to be completed . Had it not been for Racheal, I would have not signed that second lease and would've just got a hotel or something until my home was done. It is my hope that the management and ownership of Saywitz reads this and realizes what a valuable asset. Racheal is to the company. Why not five stars? For the amount of money I was paying for a 500 square-foot studio, (it was called a one bedroom, but it was a studio with a dividing wall.) there should've been some upgrades to the kitchen appliances., and the bathroom desperately needed reconfiguration. My apartment had a tiny, small sink, smaller than what most Motel 6 properties have. As a son of a developer and as someone whose parents own many rental properties, my dad understood that if you're willing to invest just a little bit of money to put some lipstick on a property where it counts the most like the bathroom or the kitchen and the lighting, it goes a long way and making residents feel like they have something a little bit special and helps justify the cost of the rent. The only other reason I didn't give this property five stars is also because of the intrusive manner in which property management would come into your apartment with very little WARNING. I have a dog and I work 14 hours in the healthcare industry. Taping a letter to my door the night before they want to enter my apartment was just not an option for people who have a small dog that could run out when the door is open. However, I still give 37112 Palo Verde in Cathedral City 4 stars because overall, Saywitz provided a private gated, living environment, they took extra care to keep the landscaping up and even the lawn green in this crazy desert heat and that was impressive. Also, and this is very important, I have never lived in a small apartment like this where the walls were so sound proof! I could have my TV up loud as could be, and neither neighbor could hear my television. That's very rare when you live in an apartment. But mainly it was Racheal Cravitz who allowed me to stay. I remember when my blinds one by one broke and fell to the ground and I had to cover my windows with blankets because I couldn't get anyone to respond and replace my blinds. Racheal finally called, and again this was not part of her job responsibilities, and she connected me with one of their maintenance men, Jerry, who finally came out and fixed all my needs. Which by the way they need more people like Jerry working on their properties! You ask any tenant at this property and they will go on and on about how wonderful Jerry is. He is respectful smart, he knows what he is doing and he actually gets the job done unlike previous maintenance people that they have sent in the apartment before. This property in Cathedral city has so much promise. And it does offer an affordable option for people who want to live in the prime part of the valley, but don't have the money to rent in this area of town. Also, I appreciate that they make the rental process fairly easy and they don't charge crazy fees to move in. They are also pet friendly and don't charge ridiculous extra deposits for pets. The pet deposit is reasonable. Would I recommend this apartment? Absolutely. For the right person, this property could be a good fit for a lot of people. Especially the one and two bedrooms. In addition to my property, Saywitz also had a couple other rentals in the same area. Thank you to Racheal and Jerry and some nice neighbors who made my stay memorable !

I never stayed this long somewhere but aside from the apartments being nice and big the staff at Saywitz Properties are very helpful. When lease agreements are up they do a great job in communicating with you. Just today i talked to Diana Liston helped me come to a new lease agreement and ready to go for 1 more year. Maintenance needs are met and apartments are well maintained. When ever ive needed to talk to someone either about maintenance or anything lease bill related they have always been available and provide great tenant service. Disappointing experience due to a lack of professionalism, communication, and transparency…read more Our primary contacts throughout the leasing process were Daniel Morgan and Raquel. After we initially declined the lease because the rent was outside our budget, the homeowner personally reached out and invited me back to the property to meet his family and neighbors, answer questions about the home and neighborhood, and discuss the rental terms. Following that meeting, we reached an agreement on a revised rental price, and Daniel and Raquel sent us an updated lease reflecting those terms. We took the time to carefully review the lease and ask questions before signing, as anyone should when entering into a legal agreement. During that process, we felt pressured to sign the lease quickly, despite simply trying to understand the terms of the agreement. We ultimately signed the updated lease and promptly submitted the requested security deposit in good faith. Based on our understanding that we were moving forward with this property, we declined other rental opportunities, which were no longer available when we unexpectedly had to resume our search. What followed was, in our view, the most concerning part of the entire experience. After signing the lease and submitting our security deposit, we received no communication whatsoever from the leasing company regarding next steps, confirmation that our documents had been received, or when we could expect a countersigned lease. We found this unusual and reached out ourselves the following day. Only because we initiated that conversation were we informed that the property had continued to be shown after we had already signed the lease and submitted our deposit. During that conversation, we were told that another applicant had offered the original asking rent and that the owner had decided to move forward with that applicant instead--just 10 days before our scheduled move-in date. While our security deposit was ultimately returned, the handling of this transaction fell well below the level of professionalism, communication, and transparency we expected. We invested significant time and effort into this process, including meeting with the homeowner and his family, negotiating revised lease terms, carefully reviewing the lease, signing the agreement, submitting a substantial security deposit, and making housing decisions in reliance on the understanding that we were moving forward. Our real estate agent, who has more than 20 years of industry experience, told us she had never encountered a situation like this. Regardless of the legal status of the lease before it was fully executed, prospective tenants deserve timely, transparent communication--especially after signing a lease and submitting a security deposit. In our case, we received no proactive communication and only learned that the property was no longer available because we contacted the leasing company ourselves. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company. We encourage prospective tenants to obtain written confirmation regarding when a property will be removed from the market and when their tenancy is considered secure before signing documents, submitting funds, or declining other housing opportunities.

They provide extremely poor service towards the end of my lease and during/after the move-out process. Towards the end of my lease, they did not complete several repairs. I ended up having to leave multiple broken items in the unit, even though I submitted repair requests MONTHS before my move-out date. They mishandled my security deposit refund and kept OVER $2,000!!!! I emailed for months after moving out to dispute the refund amount and they kept pushing me off. They continued to say they would follow-up with me shortly. However, I ended up sending about 5-10 email follow ups only to keep hearing that they would 'handle it shortly'. It never got resolved which shows how full of sh** they are, how they provide empty promises and how little they care about people after they are no longer benefitting from them. G.P.M. and the unit owner wrongfully charged me for several repairs without proper back-up documentation. In the middle of my 12 month lease, I submitted all of the proper paperwork to add an assistance animal to my lease. I continued to ask when my lease would be updated to include the animals, they never EVER got around to doing it during the remaining 6 months of my lease. Doing this is a FAILURE to provide reasonable accommodation to people with disabilities under the Federal Fair Housing Act. (I've reported them and an investigation is underway)
