I had chicken donair $13.5 ish. Very delicious. Well seasoned fresh vegetables and less sauce. I found they pressed the donair dough against the meat skewer before to start wrapping. So it has more meat juice and turns tasty dough. I got oil stain on my t-shirt and jeans. That's proof :( I don't know what's wrong but the service was very slow. I waited 20 min for one wrap. Three men were inside of the counter and looked not efficient somehow.

Lamb doner wrap medium spicy and an Ayran.

Delicious doner wraps. Good service. Everything fresh and from scratch. Casual, with outdoor seating on the quay nearby. Great price. A doner wrap with an Ayran (yogurt drink) is a perfect quick dinner.

Delicious tender slow cooked seasoned meat.

Simply wonderful. I was shocked at how delicious the food was. The service was also exceptional. I had a lamb and chicken kebab roll. The chef did a great job of distributing the toppings in a beautiful pattern and then overflowing it with tender delicious thin slices of delicious meat. It was topped with great sauce. The chef asked what spicy level I wanted. The result was probably the best kebab roll I have ever had. It was absolutely delicious. I exclaimed "yum" between each bite. Service was also great. I highly recommend it. I hope they don't change anything.

The only part of the kebab I had left to show!

One of the best donairs I've ever had! Took a while to make as it was a bit busy, but 100% worth the wait.

Not as good as the last time we came. Food was good overall but service fell short somewhat…read more Came here with family. We all ordered our own individual dishes. I just had an Original Gimbap and a Vege Gimbap for myself. It was a hot summer's day so I just didn't feel like ordering hot food. Everyone else ordered hot food though. My daughter has been getting into Tonkatsu at Japanese restaurants for awhile now. So when she saw Chicken Katsu on the menu here, she decided to give that a try. It was just OK for her. No comparison to any of the pork Tonkatsu dishes that she's been having at Japanese restaurants. She still ate it all up though and it was a huge portion. Other dishes on the table included Seafood Noodles, Pork Kimchi Stew, Soft Tofu Stew, Fried Chicken, and Kimchi Fried Rice. My one gripe would be that they took a super long time bringing out my daughter's Chicken Katsu. Everyone else had their food for quite awhile but she sat waiting and waiting for her Chicken Katsu. When we asked about it, they said it was coming soon. But that's what they always say when you ask about something that's taking a long time to come, right? Wondering if they actually completely forgot about it and then put in a rush order at the kitchen when we brought it up.

Great little neighbourhood spot for Korean food at lunch…read more I stopped by with coworkers and this place is a solid 4/5. Favorite item was the pork belly with kimchi. It's over fire on a hotplate/pan with the meat all around and kimchi in the middle. Perfect with rice or on it's on. The Japchae had plenty of beef and veggies. The potato noodles weren't overcooked and was a great consistency. The seafood tofu soup was favorful with clams and mussels. The raw beef was too frozen and needed to sit out longer. However, the flavor was still good, but I don't know if I'd order it again. The service was excellent and attentive.

When I arrived the food was ready, however, not a single staff member was helpful and actually quite rude as I tried to get my order. Ended up speaking to a host and 4 staff just to figure out the pick up. When I got home the food did not match what was was described, salmon skewers were only baked salmon filet, the $9.99 salad was less than a cup of diced tomato and cucumber and the beef skewer was dry and under seasoned. Surprising considering how many great reviews there are. With so many choices for great Persian food on the North Shore I will go some place else next time.

This place looks so pretty on the outside with the different coloured flowers and stained glass windows but when you walk in, your jaw will drop to the floor! It is stunning beyond words with all types of Persian decor scattered throughout the restaurant in every nook and cranny. My eyes couldn't stop scanning the place and seeing something new each and every time. Beautiful colours of red, gold and various others popping out all over the place. The enormous golden samovars just screamed luxe. Even the menus have a carpet like material on the outside...I just couldn't believe how much attention to detail there was in this stunning restaurant. It is an experience that transforms you to the Middle East that makes you feel like royalty! The service is quick and friendly even though they are so so so sooooo busy! Now let's get to the food...believe it or not but it's just as amazing as the decor. The koobideh beef is juicy and very thick too. The joojeh chicken is super tender and melts in your mouth. The shishlik was the star, even in a well done form it was somehow still tender and juicy! The yogurt drink is refreshing, the Akbar mashti ice cream is fragrant and sweet and you can't go wrong with ordering anything on this fantastic menu. My deepest compliments to the chef!!! I'd say the Akbar joojeh dish could do with a touch less oil and their tea could've been more dark and fragrant as it was quite bland after the symphony my senses had gone through and the baklava would've been nice in Persian style instead of Arabic to tie in with the atmosphere more but these are very nit picky types of comments as this place is the best one in the lower mainland to go to especially when you're craving middle eastern eats. I wish I took more photos but I was in too much of a state of trance! Please do yourself a favour and run over to akbarjoojeh!

Really decent Korean food at a really decent price! There may be a decent number of Korean…read morerestaurants in North Van, but not many of them (with the exception of South Castle) are really that good in the authentic sense. Bori has a number of dishes that really stand out, like the gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup) and the Korean Tonkatsu. I would probably not recommend the sides, since they seemed too pricey, but none of the mains you can go wrong with. Banchan service was great! Nice variety and execution. It's also a well-lit, clean place that is quiet enough for gatherings.

Service was friendly and our table was given a full teapot. Prices are on the higher end. Staff didn't ask about our group's spice level preference. - Banchan - sliced fish cakes, pickled radish and kimchi. Standard. Refilled once but after that, they charge $2.00. - Bibimbab ($17.99) - simple but hit the spot. - Soft tofu soup ($16.99) - broth was okay but lacked depth. - Deep fried chicken ($15.99) - pumpkin seeds and dried cranberries were very random. Chicken itself came out hot but wasn't crispy. - Spicy pork ($25.99) - overpriced for what you get. - Tteok-bokki ($19.99) - kimmalyee was a tasty addition. Everything else was typical. Nothing stands out at BKR. There's better Korean options in North Van.

We must like it, we even bought their cookbook to try some of the recipes, especially the Fondumental, which dragged us back there again and again. It wasn't nearly as plentiful or as yummy as we remembered it, but it's still good. The sandwiches and soups have always been rib sticking and tasty. The ambiance has remained the same over the years, a little dark, but the fireplace and the vintage posters are cool. Our server Gary was excellent, Johnny on the spot with all that we were looking for. Their wine and beer is all local, which is a thing these days. My lobster bisque with the FAB salad hit the spot, and the bread piece was exceptional. The lovely K had the onion soup which she liked although said it could use a little more salt. Make sure you try the lobster bisque as it's one of the meatiest I've had to date; full of that shellfish flavour. The French onion soup is an eye catcher but the broth could use a bit more richness and flavour. Beef bourignon was suggested and I'm glad I took the friendly waitress' recommendation as it was a warm hug on a deep plate. I'd opt to swap for roasted potatoes instead of the mash but the mash does soak up all that delicious stew. The jambalaya is full of different proteins and if you're a fan of that, then I'd make sure to eat this perfectly cooked rice dish. I finished off with a banana bread pudding which was exactly that, banana bread in that bread pudding form; Personally I was hoping for bread pudding that was banana flavoured but it was still ooey gooey goodness. Burgoo should be packed to the brim with this menu for these prices and the friendliness of the staff!
