When our ice maker quit drawing water, we called Ralph. He came to our house, installed a valve that he said we needed, and left without ever checking to see if the problem was solved. Had I been home, I would have checked it, myself. When I arrived home, I found the problem had not been fixed. He billed us $60 for the service call, plus $20 for a half-hour of labor. He also charged $62 for a valve that I found online for less than half the price. When I called to complain, he said he was going away on vacation and would call when he got back. He never did. After tolerating a non-operative ice maker for several months (my own fault), I contacted him again and he made a bunch of excuses and claimed he had done nothing wrong. I will be trying to get my money back in small claims court because Ralph refused to fix the problem but kept our money. Save yourself the aggravation I got, and call someone else. I can document all of this, if necessary.

We had an unusual problem, with no obvious solution. We had hoped to be able to lift the whole thing a few inches, but had no idea how. Enter Eliot from Applicare. He pondered the situation, consulted a printout of the manufacturer's docs, and discussed with us. The conclusion was that we could probably just eliminate the canopy and retain the key functionality of the hood. 90 minutes of hard work ensued, mostly by him, but ably assisted by my wife and (occasionally) me, and it was done! The charge was entirely reasonable, and we'd be happy to engage him again. And he's a character!
