Pat has been professional, has visited our home multiple times to repair our ice maker in our refrigerator. It has been a very difficult process to get the ice maker to work properly. Since we have made sure to have a Sears service agreement on all our appliances, I've not had to pay any additional money for all these visits and the parts other than the initial $100 service charge. read more

Had an all stacked washer and dryer that I needed repaired it had a leak in the bottom. I was going to do the repair by myself but found it to be more of a job than I can do. I contacted Sears appliance repair. The soonest I could get an appointment was two weeks. The repairman arrived I told him what I thought was wrong that I had a part needs to be put down. He advised me that the unit was too old to consider spending the money that this was going to cost. He was with me for about 15 minutes and charged me $109. He suggested that I hear get a maintenance contract with them and then they probably repair and maintenance contract was $49 a month the person I talk to originally also try to get me to do this. I couldn't figure out fine we could repair it or maintenance contract for $49 a month but we couldn't repair otherwise. Maybe just my confusion! To finish the story. We just went out and bought a new washer and dryer. So did my tenant didn't have to wait any longer. read more

I would give "0" stars if I could....The initial problem was the door locked and I wasn't able to open. The technician did open the door. Then he tried to check the status of the machine; he kept trying to fill machine and it wouldn't fill. I suggested that, since there is an automatic weight sensor, it might be filling with minimal water. He said no....didn't run any diagnostic tests - and told me he couldn't fix machine and I would need to buy a new machine since it would almost be the same price as replacing control board. Once he left, I decided to try running machine with some towels, and the machine worked and has been working perfectly. read more

I have made three appointments for one pretty small issue. First visit was a 2 week wait, the technician used my restroom, gave me a "deal" and didn't input the repair done - which was stripping a wire or two and and connecting them directly. He then left very quickly...before I could test the repair, since he didn't. The appliance doesn't work and I don't want him back. I contacted Sears Home Service immediately to get another appointment and was adamant about the technician so I waited another week only to find that the SAME technician was sent so I cancelled and contacted SHS again and was once again very clear. They made another appointment, and I just got a confirmation of my appointment with the SAME TECHNICIAN!!! read more

Why do I have to give this wretched business any stars at all? I did not have them come out to fix our Kenmore washing machine, which I purchased from Sears. Why? I called to make the appointment. I was put through to a call center and spoken to by an aggressive salesperson who did not speak good English. She scheduled an appointment for a few days from now. Before confirming it she went off on this long spiel about some deal she was trying to sell me. I could not understand what she was saying so I waited patiently for her to get through it and confirm my appointment. When she was finally done, she said "what option you gonna do." I had no idea what the second option even was except that it had something to do with getting me to buy a new washer. I said "I just want my washing machine fixed." She said "What credit card you gonna use." I was being asked to pay up front for a call that had not happened and was not even scheduled for days. I hung up. This is not my first stupid experience with Sears. I will never do business with them again. Seriously, a call center in a far away land to schedule a service call when I bought the washer right here in my little town? BS. read more

Worst experience ever. Wished there was a negative star as that is what they deserve. I bought a dryer from Sears and while it was under warranty. When I called complaining that it wouldn't turn on, They told me I wasn't pushing the button in long enough. When it finally became an issue I called and they came out. The guy made me pay up front for everything and ordered a part and made a new appointment. Two days later I went to use my dryer and it wouldn't dry (never had that problem). I called the technician directly and he had no idea who I was or what he did. Said when he came back to install the part he would look at it. ... The appointment came and I didn't receive the part, and no technician showed up. When I made the original appointment I got an email saying if they would be late they would let me know. The technician was late and I was never notified and had to call them. They never notified me that they weren't coming to the next appointment either. Now I have to get a real repairman in to fix what they did. NEVER EVER WILL I EVER CALL THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The lawn mower repair man for Sears that I have is great. Makes sure he tests mower after finished working on it. Asks if I have anything else that I might have questions on. If he happens to run late, I always get a phone call telling me when he can be expected. I can't say much for Sears call center, they need a lot more training. read more

We have a Maytag refrigerator with the French doors on top, and the freezer on the bottom. It also has the built in ice maker/ water. We bought it from Sears I think in 2009? Anyhow it has been a wonderful Fridge. No issues, all we do is replace the water filter until 2 weeks ago...we went to get a cup of ice water and our lights, ice, and water went out. We tried to trouble shoot ourselves but no luck. So we called Sears. They had a guy out with in a few days. He identified the issue. It was a pretty penny!! He ordered the part, which ended up being the wrong part when he came back, but then be ordered the right part and when he came back the second time it was fixed. He did a good job, and was personable. My complaint about when we called originally is they tried to make a huge sale, when all we wanted was our fridge fixed...and also the lady on the phone didn't think to confirm our address because she was too concerned about making that sale so the poor service guy showed up on time at our old address. Come to find out he had to drive all the way back across town to where he was just at! It wasn't the service man who did this, but the representative on the phone. I get she has a job to do, but at the point when the customer tells you no, I just want my fridge fixed several times...shut your sales speech down!! I am giving 4 stars because the service tech did a great job, I only wish it would not have taken 2 weeks...it was not his fault...it was only because we had to wait on parts being shipped. They have the parts shipped to your house, and the tech comes to your house and fixes the appliance. read more

I've been try to get Sears Appliance Repair to repair my refrigerator ice maker for 4 weeks now. So far they've visited 4 times, ordered two different parts, and broke a part on my refrigerator. The replacement part arrived today, and it was also broken. I've also spent about an hour on the phone today trying to get help and have been transferred 4 different departments. And I'm doubtful if I ever will get the unit fixed! Sears was recommended by American Home Warranty, with whom I have a $700/yr coverage. I wouldn't recommend such a policy either! read more

Was put on hold for 10 minutes.. so called back and asked to talk to a manager.. no answer.. then called back the large appliance dept. was put on hold for 15 minutes.. ended up calling Best Buy. Absolute waste of money from a con-man incompetent refrigerator repair technician. Not worth even one star. Charged $200+ to defrost fridge. Within 60 days, same problem occurred so it was never properly "fixed" the first time. Came back, would not honor 60-day warranty from original repair. Said to call main office, which was a call center. This time he diagnosed a drainage problem. Said I needed a part replacement that would run another $300+ for install. Turns out, a drainage tube in the back was clogged and all it took was disconnecting the hose, running it under hot water to clear the clog, then vacuuming out the dust and it was good as new. Sears was going to rip me off for over $500 for a job that was worth about 30 minutes time. Do not trust this company. There's a reason they have closed most of their stores and filed for bankruptcy. Sears is a dishonest company. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I regret ever doing business with them and warn all to think twice before giving them any of your hard earned money. I called Sears Appliance Repair for a simple question regarding a small repair for my 3 year old stove purchased from Sears. Sears, like many greedy corporations, outsources labor. So, when you think you're calling an establishment in your own town, you actually wind up talking to someone from a call center who is desperately/aggressively trying to sell you a maintenance agreement so that Sears can further profit off of you. BEWARE of the maintenance agreement- you can find many horror stories online about folks being tricked into these pricey agreements, only for Sears to not follow through on key parts of the agreement when the time comes to repair or replace an appliance. And once you state that you don't want this agreement, it's $89 and at least a 2 week wait for someone to even come look at your appliance. In my case, I wound up figuring out how to fix the issue with my stove myself. It took me half a day, but was a far more pleasant experience than dealing with Sears Appliance Repair for another minute. read more

This is the absolutely WORST company to deal with. Had an appointment between 1 pm & 5 pm. At 3:45 the driver goes right past my place, turns around and drives right past again then disappears. I called their 800 number, the idiot that answered the phone never listened to anything I said, then tried telling me that the appointment was scheduled between 5 pm and 7 pm. I asked to talk to a manager, after a 20 minute wait, she didn't listen either, she never shut up or let me finish talking, I told her that I was not done yet and she hung up on me. No wonder Sears is going out of business. Say good bye to a former american icon especially since they are owned by a foreign company now anyway. Good riddance. read more

Our Samsung refrigerator broke about a month ago. After searching everywhere my husband found sears isnthe only place that does warranty work for Samsung as they are known for slow reimbursement to the repair companies. Ok that's fine however the repairman came and diagnosed the problem of the compressor. Now the part needs to be ordered and appointment set to place it. We get a call the part won't be here in time and need to reschedule. Now keep in mind everytime my husband scheduled he is told a 4 hour window he must be home. The parts arrive but again get another call that we must be rescheduled hours afer repairman was to be at our home. Another days wages lost. Another appointment made husband stays home from work for a 12 to 4pm appointment. At 5:15 repairman calls and unable to get to us and reschedules again. Finally at this appointment he arrives only to find somethingnwrong that was not found the first time. Now we are waiting for the fan to arrive and maybe get it fixed this week. The last repairman felt badly and is trying to get this part of repair done at no charge due to all of the time lost at work and the need rent a refrigerator. We received an email from sears with an apology giving us a $300 gift card. We went online to order our items only to find during the payment portion that the card is only $40. Now to see if they follow through with the repair this week. I happen to be on vacation so perfect time for them to come to do repair. Bottom line is 1) even though Samsung is awesome product, they reimburse slowly so no one wants anything to with their repairs so don't buy Samsung. 2) knowing how sears works now I highly do not reccomend them for repairs. My Kenmore 'fridge (less than 3 years old) isn't staying cold enough in the freezer section to keep things frozen. I got a service appointment with the Sears repair folks (who tried to "upsell" me on a $40/month "service contract"). The repair guy showed up this morning (kid who looked barely old enough to shave), opened up the freezer, showed us the icicle where something had leaked... and told us we needed him to install some stuff which would take a WEEK to diagnose where the leak was coming from, and that the BEST-CASE scenario would then cost almost as much as we paid for the new 'fridge in December 2013! This 'fridge replaced one which was here when we moved in, and looked to be from around the 1970s; we have a second 'fridge which is at LEAST 25 years old. Sears sure doesn't build 'em like that anymore... Lousy "repair" service, rotten quality, and NO willingness to stand by their products. A $700 appliance should NOT fall apart and need $500 in repairs in less than 3 years, and if it does, Sears should make it RIGHT instead of trying to sell me a rip-off "service contract"! read more

So frustrated with this company. Set up an appointment and was told that the technician would be here between 1 pm and 5pm. At 5:41pm I call to find out what was going on, was told the technician would contact me directly. He calls at 5:53pm saying he is on his way, at 6:30 he arrives. He turns on the oven and puts his hand in at the bottom and says " it's late and I'm really tired we will order the part and if that doesn't fix it then I'll just charge the diagnostic fee" what a joke and waste of time and money. read more

My refrigerator stopped working. Sears scheduled someone to come to my house they next day. The repair person was courteous and prompt. He provided an excellent explanation of the problem and fixed it immediately. The price was fair and less than I had been expecting. read more

Fridge was working. Strip between cabinets was hot. Had sears come to fix. We're told needed new compressor. Took three weeks and several hundred dollars. Guy came and installed on a Friday. Told me if any problems, would show up in 24 hours. That since repair done by sears, would be put on the schedule immediately. Fridge stopped working entirely. Had to throw out hundreds of dollars of ruined food. Called Saturday morning. Was told by the call center agents in the Philippines they couldn't set up follow up appointments over the weekends, system updates. We went down to the store and made a NEW appointment for three weeks out. Called on Monday to try for that "expedited" appointment. Had the appointment we made cancelled and an appointment made for a week LATER. Have been told at least three times a supervisor would call us back. No response whatsoever. Living out of ice chests. Don't live our nightmare. DONT USE sears for your appliance repair. Their 90 day warranty on repairs? Not worth the paper it's written on since they don't back up their repair in a timely manner. read more
