The part that was replaced failed within a year. Brass valve fitting cracked. Called and reported on Friday night and Saturday. No call from them until Monday. Lots of water lost. We tried scheduling another major repair after the initial work a year ago and the communication from the front office receptionists was absolutely horrible. The front line of a business needs excellent communication or it suffers. Glad they honored their warranty and 5 stars for the tech who did the repair but won't be calling for any future work. 2 stars for overall experience. read more

We had water coming from the pipe connecting to the washing machine. We called and they came within a few days. For whatever reason they had to pull the toilet during the repair. They either didn't set the toilet right or didn't put a new seal when they finished, because when we flushed toilet after they were gone, water was pouring out all over the floor coming out from under the toilet. So we had to repair the toilet ourselves because we didn't have the convenience of waiting for the to come back. read more

Loved this place before they merged with Reynolds, now you have to pay $89 up front to get a "task based estimate" and they have no idea what the prices will be, all I wanted was a simple shower/tub cartridge replacement and there was no clue as to what this would cost, this seems a bit wacky. Earn upgrade to 2 stars for office staff. ......................... Technician (not even a plumber) arrived and had no idea about ball stem system of single lever shower. I had already purchased kit w parts from delta. Not only did technician not recognize the components, but confirmed had never done it. Then quoted a charge $175 to figure it out. NO WAY!!! The young technician man had not been trained with this older stem ball shower single handle system. Said "was going to charge so much because he might run into a problem". I called for a plumber. Not an unsupervised, untrained technician. Now a week later KC sends me an email invoice and they want to charge me a $59 for technician coming to my door who was clueless. GO WITH PETERSEN PLUMBING who switched out gaskits/springs in 15 minutes. Both the senior plumber and apprentice knew exactly what this ball stem single lever shower system was and did the repair quickly. This isn't a comment on services, I didn't even get that far. I paid the $89 service charge to receive an estimate of $429 to snake my kitchen sink waste line. Honestly, I was shocked at the quoted price. I declined the service and called another plumbing company. The other company got the work done for 60% less, plus they fixed a small leak I didn't know I had. I was so pleased with the professionalism by Kevin Cohen Plumbing from their scheduler to their two plumbers, Nate and Zach, who were dispatched to my house. Before they arrived, they called me to make sure I was available. Quickly they solved my plumbing problem and called their boss to explain the situation which involved the installation of the toilet by the prior company. Ok here is the scoop. Kevin Cohen plumbing has good plumbers but they will cost you three to four times the competition get a second quote because they overcharge. I will never use them again total rip off and very sad they take advantage of people like that. I can't believe how stupid I was to use them without getting another quote in the past. First, credit for them coming out on Thanksgiving to do a refrigerator water line repair. And the plumber was quite friendly. Mind you, they do have a pretty hefty surcharge for working on a holiday. The problem is, the leak was caused by some home repair workers that had been here, yet the plumber wrote up in his bill to them that he didn't think they caused it, meaning I'm being footed with the $700 bill! Seems a little conflict of interest-y. And dishonest. Plumber never told me he was going to report back to the contractor, nor tell them "oh, I don't think they caused this". Huh. I didn't know my plumber was also a metallurgist. It's a shame, because they basically "own" the Eugene market, but I certainly won't be recommending them again. Our kitchen sink was slow and our toilet flushing wimpy. The young joke "plumber" who showed up snaked our drain and toilet, to no avail. Not surprising, since we'd been doing the same thing all along. He recommended buying a new toilet, through his company rather than from a hardware store. (I thought the drains needed to be roto rooted but that wasn't an option for him; evidently, he was too much in a hurry to collect and go.) He even praised himself for not charging us for him to use his precious tools (snakes). He charged $150 just to show up and look pretty, I guess!!!! Disappointed. I called Kevin Cohen Plumbing as they were recommended to me by a friend when the main plumbing line to our house was backed up, causing our washing machine to back up. After the service the plumber called me (I was out of town and my neighbor let him in) and said that it was a super-easy fix, simply snaked out the drain and everything was running smoothly. When I got back from my trip, loads of laundry in tow, the machine backed up on the first load. I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I waited a few days to see if it improved. No luck, so I called them back. They came out again, and this time diagnosed that the fitting on the drain was not compatible with my new high-efficiency washer, something the previous tech had not noticed. They installed a new fitting and everything worked fine. Here is where I have a major qualm: Kevin Cohen Plumbing charged me a full service visit fee for each trip, plus time, with no accommodation for the fact that they had overlooked an obvious factor on the first visit. A call to question them about it did not provide any more desirable result. Overall, the workers were friendly, even the secretary who I spoke with who let me know that I would be charged a full service-fee for each visit. I don't have a complaint about them (I could even forgive the plumber who overlooked the key problem, if only the mistake didn't cost me), but obviously the management has not instituted customer-friendly policies I won't be using them again. read more

I called Kevin Cohen plumbing on the recommendation of an acquaintance. I am a renter and therefore had to have them contact my landlord directly for payment because they require payments at time of service, no exceptions. I am unsure of how my landlord dealt with this obstacle. The woman that I dealt with on the phone was not pleasant. She was abrupt, short and had a very rude tone. I had a negative experience on the phone and was nervous about having a rude plumber too. They just happened to be the only plumber who could help me out that same day. Wade came out to the house to fix the bathroom sink and tub from a slow to no drain. He actually called and asked if he could come early. That was a very pleasant surprise! Wade was quick, friendly and efficient. He was really great to have working in the house. If I use this company again, I will make sure to ask for Wade by name! read more

Third attempt to use this company and they didnt live up to their logo. Called on a rainy sunday, my main waterline is galvanized and old falling apart. Been patching the best I know how but with little sleep, cold n wet I called to get a professional to patch and hold till a later date and a new line could be installed. Over the phone they basically said they couldn't help me, a patch probably wouldn't work and plus it was Sunday and they just couldnt do something like that on a Sunday. The man stated he could come out but he would then charge an hourly rate and not guarantee anything! I called another plumber after i couldnt get anywhere with the man on the phone who truely wasn't going to work on a Sunday. My mom has dementia and is usually uptight about strangers in the house, but his demeanor was so nice and friendly and professional that she hardly noticed him. I called to have sink faucet replaced ($157). The service man that came out was very nice. He completed the job in a timely manner and left. Later that day I had to call him back because the sink was leaking. He returned and informed us caulking needed to be done and needed 24 hours to dry. Why weren't we informed about the caulking on the very first visit?? We said we would attempt to do it at a time when the sink would not be in use. We are not plumbers. That didn't work out. He came back out and did a beautiful job..... and charged us $119!! I understand there should be a charge but $119!!! I paid and later called to work out a deal. I have used Kevin Cohen for several of my properties, with some jobs being small, and others being large, and with over a half a dozen repairs in the last 3 years I can wholeheartedly recommend Kevin Cohen for residential repairs (I have no experience using them for new home or commercial) Each job I called them for was answered by a pleasant receptionist, and each plumber that came out was helpful, courteous, affable, and good humored. Their rates are extremely competitive (if not the best) they respond quickly, and they fixed every issue I had the first time. Do not call this plumbing company unless you have enough money to flush your excess down the toilet! We called Kevin Cohen Plumbing because an acquaintance recommended them, but we should have called Roto-Rooter. The plumbers were very nice young men, maybe just unexperienced. The first fellow tried unsuccessfully to clear the blocked pipe with every easy method first. After standing around waiting for about 45 minutes (charged time) the second young fellow arrived (additional cost) to assist. Many hours and dollars later the pipe was miraculously unobstructed. So very disappointed with the damage to the floor and stripped bolts on our brand new toilet. Initially calling Roto-Rooter could have saved us over $400, amongst other things. read more

I just had Kevin Cohen Plumbing re-pipe my entire water supply system in my 1950's ranch house. I had a Navien water heater installed, the installers did the job in extermely difficult conditions (my attic is VERY tight) they were so efficient the bill came in LESS than I was quoted. When was the last time that happened? Way to go Kevin Cohen Plumbing! By the way the Navien is an amazing tankless water heater, almost as good as Kevin Cohen Plumbing! read more

They have quality service, but they are expensive. This company does not provide estimates like they claim, they provide contract pricing which excludes breakdown of parts and labor. I needed to replace a water heater for my mom, called this company because of their quality service, and was given an "estimate" of $1750. I asked if I could shop around and they said, "of course, but we may not make it back out here for another two weeks--if you decide to go with us--and you will still have to pay the $59 dispatch fee." Expecting that they were reasonably priced (having no knowledge of plumbing costs), I accepted. Two hours later they were done; old water heater removed, new one installed. This took me by surprise considering I had a basic understanding that water heaters don't cost more than a grand, and no plumbing agency charges that much for labor. I looked up the cost of FIVE of their competitors and it only averaged $1240. $1750 is more than a premium. I recommend getting bids before agreeing to pay their prices. If you do decide to work with them, it is likely they will have availability since many of their other appointments never make it past the inspection. read more
