Seaport does quality work but has several major issues that prevent it from being a 5 star business. We worked with them to replace our front door. First, communication is not a priority once a customer is under contract. During the quote and estimate process, Alex was more than happy to take multiple calls to secure our business but once the deposit and contracts were signed, we were completely in the dark about manufacturer and installation delays. And speaking of the contract, the payment schedule is very front loaded with expectations of 40% payment before any work beyond measurements and ordering of the door. We were quoted 6 weeks for completion. Seaport completed the installation after 14 weeks from the sign date of contract. I understand construction delays but clear communication is critical to minimize frustration. If you're looking for a quality product, Seaport does the job well. Their team of installers were awesome. But expect the runaround from Alex and bad communication and contract policies. read more

Alex came by to estimate our job and made some good recommendations and bid the miscellaneous work we requested. A mixture of window and doors, including a dutch door for the front door. I wanted them to come in with a crew and knock the work out, but they (Alex, Crystal and Jennifer) knew better, and pieced it together with the right mix of workers. Demo, Wood workers, Stucco men, Painter, Finish carpenters. It took a little longer than expected, but the end product was well worth it. Finished product is excellent. We love our new windows by Seaport Sash and Door. Changing out our old windows is probably the best thing we've done to improve our home in 20 years. The first thing we noticed is how quiet our new windows make our house. The double pane windows improved the temperature dramatically. Last May I put down a deposit on new sliding doors/windows for three rooms. The type of frame I needed due to my HOA was a particular model made by Milgard. The quote was almost 30% more than other companies, but not many installers use Milgard. The installation date was supposed to be last August. Due to Covid, the manufacturer was behind and it was moved to September. As the date came near installation was moved again to October. The installation was supposed to take three days but took four. These things happen so whatever. The work crews didn't seem very organized as they all came and went at different times and some were pulled to go to other jobs that were having issues. Some of the crew were good about cleaning up but then the next day I would have different guys who would be in a hurry and leave trash out in one case took my broom and dustpan by accident. They left plastic insulation stuff protruding from under the trim. (see picture) Now they came out and fixed this and returned the broom and pan. The quality of the installation was not what I would expect based on the price. Now my condo is tricky due to being on the third floor. One pane of glass had a deep around a 2-inch deep scratch. After some phone calls, Milgard came out and replaced it. Now there were some places paint chipped off the outside vinyl frame in a few spots, probably either during transport or installation. I was told nothing could be done. UPDATE: They are sending me touch-up paint. We'll see how it goes. read more

We had work done in 10/2018, I have bit my tongue until I received an email was sent by Seaport to give some feedback. I am not normally a complainer, nor respond much on social media ( only 3rd yelp review) but this email from Seaport for feedback struck a chord. We had a horrible experience with them. Alex is not detailed oriented, poor communicator, poor craftsman. We were getting AC , new roof and sky lights at same time. He said he would coordinate with the vendors, and did not get permits in a timely manner. He was the last one to get approval delaying our start. He did not communicate with our roofer regarding the timing. His lack of communication resulted in his workers ripping up the tar paper so he could put in the framing for the skylights. His employees did not align the position of the skylights which are off center. The off center installation is not aesthetically pleasing for the $ we paid him. In addition to his poor craftsmanship,, he wanted more $$ to paint the wooden frames inside the home because it was not included in his quote. Seaport Windows installed two doors in my home, one of which has bowed in the middle. I have been emailing/calling them for four (4) months to take a look at it and repair it. Pretty obvious they are avoiding responsibility, they are not returning phone calls or showing up when they stated they would. I have noticed some good posts on Yelp, and then..others with our exact experiences. I'll gladly re-post a positive evaluation once they fix the door, but until then, I can't recommend this company. Got all new windows in 2019, and while the windows were good, the install was a little messy. Some windows had no caulking around them inside at all, the window replacing the old door wasn't reframed at all and is using the old wood from 1944, and some window trim inside wasn't even painted. Now in 2022-2023, the window where the door used to be leaks like a sieve anytime rain falls anywhere near it, often flooding the computer room and putting thousands of dollars of equipment at risk. In efforts to rectify the problem it was discovered at at installation, the window's drainage holes were blocked, the caulking used was wrong and has shrunk, leaving gaps for water, and the old framing from the door is decaying, causing cracks to open around the window. The family is frustrated and I can't say we'd use the company again. read more

Terrible experience with this company when we purchased a new front door from them. Took much longer than promised for the door to arrive, then went through several weeks of excuses before installation began -- understaffed, installer suddenly got sick, had an emergency with another client, etc... Guy finally shows up to install the door in a beat up sedan with his tools in the trunk. He left my house wide open and unattended while he left for over an hour to get something from the warehouse (I was gone to pick my children up from school). Didn't even bother to shut the garage door when he left, knowing nobody else was home. Alex is a smooth talker, so be prepared for the run-around and an endless string of excuses. Finished door looked nice, but the "drywall expert" he sent to patch holes next to the frame did a terrible job and I had to repatch and paint myself. Would not recommend. read more

I'm a little frustrated because it's been maybe 5 months since we started this project for our windows. Finally after calling the company several times after the start they got each of the windows in, also after having to return windows that were measured or built incorrectly from how we originally discussed with Alex. Alex had told us months ago that he would be back to do a final walk-through so that we could talk about how there was a discrepancy on the creation of each window so that he could help us with a solution, still have not seen Alex for a final walk-through and now the screen doors falling apart, well it has been for a while but now that we've been looking at enjoying our backyard we're going to try to call him again and see if the company will respond. I would really love to give a positive review to this company because the people were very friendly and the work they did do was good. But every day that I look at the unfinished work, we'll have to get back to that review. I've also had to postpone painting the house because I don't want to paint the house until the windows are completely finished. read more

This is the situation: wish I could give a minus zero! 1. Owner does not return phone calls. 2.Owner has complete control, no one else can resolve issues or schedule, so buyer must wait for owner to respond. 3. Owner uses staff to communicate to buyer, but without any power to resolve anything, it only adds to the overall confusion. 4.Owner will not give a set time for work crew to show up for project work, making buyer hang around and hope they show. 5. Owner schedules work to be completed on a certain day and never calls to cancel. Buyer only finds out when calling the office and finds out work has been cancelled. 6. Owner has no integrity or respect for buyers time or schedule. 7. Owner does not keep previous commitments of time line or product quality. Product contract date November 25, 2020.. (3 months for manufacture delivery (March -product available for installation). Its now June 2021 project is still not completed. 8. Owner does not respond to buyers requests on product selection and quality even when documentation and photos of product selection are provided. 9. Owner does not deliver on previously agreed to product specifications... commitment was made that product was custom window, but to date custom finish work is not completed. 10. This company has poor customer service and sells over priced products. However, at first we were happy to use a local company and neighborhood favorite to install our windows and doors. The quotes we definitely higher than other options but we went with local "small business." Unfortunately, every interaction took several calls and the delays were frustrating, but eventually the new windows and sliders were installed. When we noticed a defect in a very expensive door slider, it took a few calls to get them to order a replacement from the manufacturer (all under warranty) and then, after a long delay, came out and installed it after several calls to. The installers did not know how the locking mechanism worked. We had to instruct them. They left with the job incomplete, leaving out the plugs to cover the screws. Within a year, we noticed that the metal was making a scraping noise when we open/closed the same door. It clearly was hung in a way that it was wearing away the metal stops. They ordered replacement parts (again, still under warranty) but for months ignored our calls to get them installed. Every call was like starting over with the receptionist. There was terrible communication in the office. Ultimately they refused to install the new parts unless we paid the hourly rate -- for something that THEIR installers messed up. Sadly, we will never use them again nor recommend them to our friends in Rossmoor. read more

We have had windows and door installed from Seaport. We have used them repeatedly. We recently ordered a replacement window ($1653.17) on 07/18/2013. We were told it would take 3-4 weeks. Received a voice mail from Alex last Friday (8/16/13) telling us that he noticed that his office staff had not contacted us for installation and to please text him. We did. Heard nothing! Called him yesterday. Asked if he had received our text. He said he had and had not responded. Told me he was taking his son back to college and that he would text me with an installation date. My wife had the mobile with her all day waiting for the text. Nothing! So today, I am writing this. :( Finally contacted Alex, the owner. Window is finally installed, but it is not what we ordered. Window's manufacturer is coming next Saturday. I will have them check the installation as I do not believe it was well done. I told Seaport that I would not make the last payment until the window was as ordered. Yesterday I received a credit card receipt. Seaport ran my credit card without my permission. I will be reporting them as appropriate and never doing business with them again. Please be warned. read more

Stay away from this buisness unless you want to be lied to, ignored, and pay for incomplete work and then wait for months to have it finished and then be charged additional fees for trip and new parts for them to complete the work they were suppose to on the first trip. Alex is very charming and very unreliable. I like that they stripped down my window frames so they can measure in the shop the correct measurements to order new windows. This was done before I could get an estimate for new windows. Thank goodness my husband told me to get a second quote from another company. $2,000.00 cheaper, plus two additional windows and a french slider to boot. I realized after they tore off all the inside trim of my windows, he put me in a position to make sure I had to replace all of them, before I even got a quote. That was the good part. I hired them to service my existing slider that they installed several years ago. (Thought it was a fluke that they screwed up the screen door and never came back to fix it) It was too much trouble to keep babysitting them to get over here and fix the screen door. I finally gave up. Well, here I am again. Rauoul told Alex he needed to go back to the shop to pick up a new wheel for the door that they did not have that part in the truck. He said it was a standard wheel. Alex told him no. They will replace it when they come back to install the windows. I didn't hire them to replace the windows, and now they can't remember that conversation and want me to buy a whole new wheel cartridge, plus another trip charge. The one sliding door that was serviced does not even open anymore. The service was in April. I called three weeks ago to let them know it isn't opening. The gal at the front desk was suppose to call me back with an appointment and did not. I just spoke to her and she said she was sick and just found my file and the job is finished. Alex is not going to honor any warranty. $350 LATER AND MY DOOR DOESN'T EVEN WORK ANYMORE. great. BUYER BEWARE! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. He came out and looked at the old door and asked us what I wanted to replace it with, explaining the options to us. He also described the waterproofing process to me, which helped me feel good about using him for the door replacement. Later that day, he called with a quote, and I went to his office to sign the work order. He was totally professional and stated that the door would take 2 to 3 weeks to arrive from the manufacturer. Seaport originally installed my Pozzi casement windows 24 years ago, Over the years several windows had Low E glass failures which were covered under warranty for 20 years of which Seaport replaced them in a timely manner. 3 /12 years ago I had 3 more windows that needed to be repaired outside of the warranty of which Seaport gladly charged me $350 per window to repair. Since this time one of these windows has since failed and is showing signs of haze which appear to be finger prints sandwiched between the double panes. I have made several attempts to get Seaport out to review the window and to have it replaced. I have sent 2 emails, which eventually I received a call back telling me that Alex would call me. after waiting 2 weeks and no phone call, I called the office and talked to a someone who said they knew of the situation because they had discussed with Alex and that she would have Alex call me. another 2 weeks later no phone call. I called again on Friday and no answer. I have concluded that Seaport (Alex the owner) is ignoring my calls because he does not want to stand behind his repair work. I am very disappointed as I always try to use local businesses but in this case I would not recommend using Seaport because of this customer service. read more
