We trusted Gina with another project after a prior one went fine. The one in question involved her carelessly leaving dust under the frame. She lied about it being dust and said it was the a flaw on the print. She offered to reframe it if I got a duplicate replacement. When the frame with the duplicate was complete, she returned the original print - no dust was there. She admitted that she had missed the dust. All of this problem could have been easily avoided except due to her carelessness. When we inspected the re-do, we found the previous flawless print/gicle was creased in the frame - print #2 now damaged. She negotiated a replacement with the artist again (#3) and reframed it. Today, when I went to pick it up, I asked for the creased print back (#2.) She refused to give me my original back ... was hostile. When I demanded my property she produced a firearm and threatened me with it in front of my family. The story speaks for itself. A police report was filed with SD Sheriff and complaint filed with the BBB. Update May 2026: the product received from Art & Frame was quoted and priced as premium materials. Those materials are now discoloring behind the frame. 1 star review earned

Instead of trying to pass off a trash job and pretending to be excited about it. Then freak out when I start asking questions of how I can fix it. I'm not going to get into a keyboard war with you. Everything I have said was correct. You did call a customer and scream and them. Thats literally insane. I think that was more a part of the review I was talking about than your "finished product" that took you all of 15 minutes. Glad we could help you out with paying for that. But we have obviously found someone that will be able to do the work we are asking for so no need for this conversation to go any further. My husband just got home and let me know Gina called and screamed at him that she can't deal with me. Soooo unprofessional. Gina has done amazing work for us in the past. But the jerseys she did were trash with no thought to alignment or even making the folds in the same place. She even took her logo off the frame because she knew I was going to need to redo them and she didn't want another artist seeing this was her attempt. Before her call to my husband I had left an ok review. Just letting people know that go to her for simple things. But keep your sports memorabilia for someone a bit more specialized. After her call I think it's important for people to know how she acts towards long standing customers.

She politely said hello and said she would be with me in a minute. Well, after 20 minutes or so of listening to the lady and the guy in there bullshit about random things, they both made their way up to the front, and the gentleman left. They both thanked me for being so patient. Now, I totally understand that if there's one person working there, and two customers, one of the customers is going to have to wait. I was fine with that, but I think if you know that you have someone else waiting in the lobby, at least shoot the shit somewhere where they can't hear you. It was mildly irritating. When I was finally helped, I asked for a fairly common type of frame (1/4 - 3/8" brushed aluminum), which they didn't have. She said something about the recession making things difficult to get, and the manufacturers were not making a lot of different frames anymore. Whatever. So I took my stuff literally less than 2 miles away, where I was helped almost immediately, and they had exactly what I was looking for. I asked if they had any issues obtaining framing material because of the recession, and they looked at me like I had a third eye. I figured as much.

Most products are reasonable. The store is large and you can easily become overwhelmed if not familiar with the lay of the land. However, if you cannot locate a member of the staff for guidance, you maybe on your own. It would be helpful for a Store Directory to help you on your treasure hunt for your needed supplies. There is a large parking lot that can get congested. Watch for pedestrians that dart out into the crosswalk with too much confidence that all cars will stop and not look both ways before crossing. That is what contributes to the congestion. Checkout stations are well organized. Watch out for the racks of items designed for you to activate your impulse buying mode. Look ahead!!!

They also banned gas powered lawn mowers and weed whackers. So Michael's Encinitas CANNOT sell helium-filled balloons.
