I had a decent size crack in the keel box of in an expensive and out of production rotomolded (like a plastic kayak) sailing dinghy and went to MGM for help when not a single other shop in the greater San Diego area would even consider doing the repair! Desperation.... I used the online form to contact the company, and got an email reply within 30-60 minutes, asking for pics of the crack in the hull. I emailed a couple pics right back. The owner, Scott, call me 10 minutes after I sent the pics. We discussed the feasibility of repairs, the time frame I had available, and what they might be able to do. I brought it to them the next morning, and he put his guy Bailey on it. Bailey did a fantastic job. Crack is gone, hull is watertight, and my son is ending the summer sailing his ass off... I'm very happy. I couldn't have had a better experience getting this boat repair done by MGM. Thanks, guys! Customer for life, here. Please bring them your business! When there is only one shop in our massive town willing to do repairs like this, they need to stay open and deserve to do well. read more

Fantastic Team to do business with. MGM plastics saved me over $400 in plexiglass window replacements on my sailboat! The super friendly staff Zia and Karen greeted me and informed the professionals Jeff and Pedro, who immediately took my existing windows and cut perfect replacements in less than 48hrs. SailBoat parts can be expensive, but thanks to MGM plastics, I had a much better alternative costing 1/5 the going rate. I will return to have more work done and to see the warm friendly smiles behind the desk. Thank you MGM plastics! read more

As a previous customer I was in high hopes the business values only improved over the years. Unfortunately, my hopes were deflated by lack of communication misleading and altered information. In less than 4 days (in this case a holiday weekend) I was fooled into believing my communicated time framed request could be achieved in a week or less to being told "when someone was able to get to it" may take up to 2 weeks. Very disappointing after originally being told it would take a week or less. But not surprising when initially it took 3 emails (2 months) to request a call back. Lesson learned; if at first you don't succeed ...... go elsewhere !!!! read more

These guys are absolute life savers. I accidentally punched a switch mount hole in my boat that was slightly to big for the mount. I came to MGM and they fabricated a washer mount to solve the problem in a few minutes for under $20 bucks. Very knowledgeable crew and incredibly helpful staff, a rare find these days. read more

I contacted MGM after searching for replacement freshwater tanks for our 2001 toy hauler trailer, because the dimensions of each tank (2 x 60 gallon) were too unique to easily find replacements (65" x 46" x 5" height). Maybe these tanks could be salvaged and simply repaired! Two fittings were broken on 1 tank, and the other had a top corner crack from years of wear on the trailer body. After a simple Google search for RV Plastic Tank repair in SD, I found MGM Plastics in San Marcos. Their shop being 80+ miles each way from our place in East SD Mountains, we fully expected to load the truck and make 2 separate trips, picking up the tanks another day after a reasonable time for the repairs to be completed. We got to MGM in the afternoon, and the crew suggested we go have lunch and come back, and they should be finished! We had a great lunch at The Taco Bar (check it out, friends!) and after little more than 1 hour, the tanks were repaired with 2 new fittings, and a quality-looking plastic weld on the crack. MGM charged WAY less than we expected, and their promptness saved us another half-day trip (160 miles RT) with the thirsty V-10 truck. These folks really care about quality work, and caring for their customers. This repair work saved a LOT of frustration over trying to replace the fresh water holding tanks on this trailer. Scott was super communicative before-hand about being able to help us out before we made the trip. I can't say enough about the great experience. Thanks from really happy customers. Excellent resource! Sometimes I find it hard to find services/products in SD vs a larger city like LA. I'm happy to have been referred to them from another plastic company that did not stock what I needed in short notice. MGM Plastics did, and I'm using them again. They were helpful and cost considerate. read more

I ran something over while getting out of a camping spot @ Ocotillo on my new toy hauler. Apparently, the 100gal fresh water tank's dump valve (it does sit awfully LOW) was also hit & started to leak at the fitting. I was going to take the tank to the manufacturer INCA @ Adelanto for repair but decided to see if someone closer can do the job. SO I called MGM, the receptionists were total sweethearts, answered ALL my questions & more. I pulled out the tank & took it over to them around Friday noon explained to them the situation, driving 2.5 hours one way.. on a Monday... If only I could get it fixed today, I'd be able to use my Saturday to install the tank back in... Scott dropped what he was doing to take a look at the tank, explained to me the way these fittings are put on at the factory (friction welded) then explained how he repairs these tanks.. that they've done many many RV tanks with a similar damage/leak.. I can tell right away he can do the repair in his sleep. Short story long, Scott did a FANTASTIC job on the repair, not a drop of water leaked out of the repair area & I'm back on the road again. I couldn't be more happier with the professionalism, level of compassion and the confidence and QUALITY of the work performed. Almost forgot, the cost was extremely reasonable. I couldn't be any more happier. Wish I could leave 10 stars. read more

Scott & the team at MGM Plastics were the best! I had some unusual needs which they were able to solve in short order. I wanted custom pieces cut to order, screw holes drilled & counter-sunk, & the appropriate grade of material to suit my application. After explaining my concept to Scott, he was able to recommend the right solution. In addition I had a sculpture that wouldn't stand on its own due to damage in shipping. Again I explained my needs to the team & left the sculpture with then to fabricate the solution. My wonderful 'Pegasus' is flying on high on his new stand. Many thanks to Scott & the team for treating me like family & providing exceptional products!! read more

There are so many wonderful things I want to tell you about this place! Ms. Lara is an absolute gem!! Honestly everyone is super helpful and super nice. They also didn't try to take advantage of me since I knew nothing about what the costs for these materials would be. I know absolutely nothing about plexiglass and materials of that nature, however the staff was more than happy to take the time to explain things to me and to help me in my selection. I was even given a piece for free as a gesture of goodwill for my upcoming nuptials when I explain the project that I was planning on creating for my wedding. Definitely worth the trek up here and I would return if I ever needed additional supplies. WORTH THE DRIVE if you are a distance from San Marcos.
