On December 29, 2025, one of my employees was on a plumbing job when our work truck (parked on the street) suddenly had a "pop," followed by steam and water flowing into the street. I instructed my employee not to start or drive it and to have it flat-bedded to Sean's Auto Care. Once the truck arrived, I spoke with the owner and explained this was a work vehicle and urgently needed to be back on the road. I was told they would do an accurate assessment, keep me updated, and treat me fairly. Repairs were completed on December 31, 2025, and I paid by credit card. My employee picked up the truck and started driving it to a job site--then the check engine light came on and the truck began running differently. It wasn't overheating, but something was clearly wrong. I told him to take it straight back to the shop. When he returned, he was told they would "assess" the problem again for an additional $250 fee. They plugged in a scanner and then said there were issues with a camshaft sensor and a misfire. At that point, I had my employee remove the vehicle and take it elsewhere. We brought the truck to another reputable mechanic (a shop with extensive strong reviews). That mechanic told us the work performed never should have been done without first identifying what appeared to be a major underlying issue--specifically, signs consistent with a failing head gasket, including oil leakage and water in the oil. We were told any legitimate diagnostic process should have caught this before installing items like a radiator and thermostat, and that the pricing for the work performed was excessive--to the point that we were told a Ford dealer likely would have been less expensive for the same repairs. The bottom line: if we had been properly advised about the engine condition up front, we likely would have not authorized the work at all and would have instead considered replacing the engine or replacing the truck. Instead, we spent significant money (in assess of more than $4,000) and immediately ended up with a vehicle that still had major issues--then were asked to pay more just to diagnose what should have been caught in the first place. I took my car to Sean's Auto Care to have a Power Steering Leak from the Rack and Pinion on my car. I decided to make an appointment online which I did. Once I arrived at the shop and checking in, I was told that I have to pay $225 fee to have this issue looked. From my perspective there was no mention of this fee online when I made my appointment. once I left my car for the diagnosis it di not even take half an hour, after I got a call from Sean's giving me the price to fix my car. The repair cost quote was expensive, and I declined and was charged the $225 fee. when I brought it up via text their response was do think it was free to look at it. It is what it is. No one likes car repairs. Especially high repairs like my mom's car. One tough aspect in dealing with high auto repairs is finding that mechanic. One you can trust and faith in. We're convinced we found one in Sean. Sean was upfront, clear, honest, and transparent. Words you don't often put together in mechanics. But Sean is that. Online reports that are updated regularly. Before and after photos and videos. All you need is the link he gives you. Guarantees his work. Layouts options. Doesn't pressure you into decisions. And cares about your concerns. His shop offers all sorts of options for financing and forms of payments. His shop is also clean and in order. Comfortable office waiting area. He does offers loaner cars should your repairs take longer than expected. He follows up constantly after your repair is completed. Ok price? I won't comment on that because everyone's situation is different. Every repair is different. But if you're looking for peace of mind, quality work, and full transparency, then it's hard to put a price on that. I'll admit, this was a tough five star review to write but one worth writing and one well deserved. I hope others find this review useful. Do you like waiting a week for a diagnostics test?? This is your spot. Do you want to call incessantly at any time of day for updates just to get a response text saying Sean's not feeling well, or Sean is having a family matter? This is your place! Apparently the entire crew of employees is not inept enough to answer the phone or perform any labor while Sean has crisis after crisis. I would not advice going here unless you like to be ripped off by coddled babies who think they can run a business on whether they have a cough today or not. Well..........I took my car to Sean's auto car because my heater wouldn't get warm. He offered me a loaner vehicle, which I declined. Huge mistake on my part, I should have taken it because it took 3 weeks to get my car back. Once the repairs were complete ($4600), I was told they broke my dipstick tube. Ian told me they fixed the damage and consider it as a free oil change. Not exactly free when I had to pay for the oil and filter, which was replaced a week prior. I also got a call that my rear passenger window dropped (was not an issue when I took it to the shop) and would no longer go up or down. Ian told me they would fix it for another $500. To make matters worse, my DPF light illuminated on my dash. When I got home, I noticed greasy fingerprints on interior of the car, and they also tore a hole on the drivers seat and did a poor job repairing it. Needless to say, I took my car to the dealer to fix the window, and dfp issue that arose while my car was at Sean's. The dealer repaired my car properly. I would never take my car or recommend this mechanic. The cost of repairs is comparable to VW dealerships. The diagnosis, punctuality, and repair was far superior at the dealership, thus my car will be going there from this point forward. Update.....I now have a coolant leak as a result of the job performed by Sean's. I took my car to the dealership to get it properly repaired. I'm aware the repair is covered by some sort of "warranty" provided by Sean's, but I still felt that taking it the dealership,and having it properly repaired will give me peace of mind. read more

Surprise surprise, another item or additional items needed to be fixed. [4] The day after labor day day weekend, vehicle is supposed to be ready. Nope. Of course. [5] Wednesday- picked-up the vehicle...guess how much they charged for LABOR: more than 1k...then additional items that 'needed to be fixed' approx 600 bucks. Ha--with a military discount of $150? Lol what a joke. [6] Thursday- Surprise-- the shift gear happened to be faulty. Took it to the same place. What did they say? Oh its due to wear and tear, needs to be fixed. WHAT A JOKE. So let me start off by saying if you value your money and time then don't take your car nowhere near this damn place. I took my car here for the first couple of times and thought they were helping me. Turns out they weren't. I had to get an engine coolant sensor replaced and a leak detection pump fixed and he charged me 2000$ to fix. Most of it was just on labor alone. For my starter replacement he charged me 1000$, then for a break vacuum pump replacement he quoted me 2600 through text and said the labor would be 2100. That's when I knew this shop was just plain shady and thieves. They try to act like they're there to help you and look out for you but they're not. On top of that they used my car to call around and get quotes for the repairs because they're "competitive". Never heard of a shop doing that before. Once I told him I'd take my car elsewhere he insisted on keeping me as a customer and he'd lower that repair cost to 1400 total. He went from 2600 to 1400 once he found out I wasn't trying to pay that much money. I even called the Volkswagen dealer yall and got a quote from them!! I told Sean what the quote was and he called me a liar and said there is no way and that Volkswagen was lying to me when I was just on the phone with them. If you take your car here don't just agree to whatever price they say, call around and get different quotes. Because these ppl WILL lie and scam you. I've never written a review before but this place deserves this one for-sure. If you're a Christ believer don't fall for it, they claim they believe in god, but try to charge 2100 in labor for a job that doesn't even cost that much.They don't have any certificated technicians there and Sean just mentioned he is barely returning back to the shop after 4 years, so I'm not even sure if he knows what he's fully doing. Sean provided the worse service I ever had. He gave me a quote to replace the ABS brakes then could not get the part so it cost me an extra $600. Then the brake part failed while I was driving and I had no brakes. He replaced the part again but then told me I needed a new master cylinder and one other part for over $1000. I had another mechanic work on it and it was not those two parts that he told me to get that had to be replaced. It was the other half of the ABS system that should've been replaced to begin with.Seans auto care failed. read more

I don't usually write reviews but when I do I mean well. I was very disappointed with this auto shop because the owner seemed to be very honest person. This is not a very honest auto shop, I took my car there several times last year or a year before(spending about 2k a few times I took my car there) and the car ended up stopping in the mountains when I was driving to Palmdale. I Went back again and he quoted me almost the value price of the car to fix the Problem. I ended up selling the car to him for $1500 and my brother saw him driving the car. Now looking back, I think they contributed to my car breaking down because my brother took his car there as well. He needed few parts replaced and Sean promised him that he was going to get brand new parts for his car. After he drove the car for a few days, the car broke down and he decided to have another mechanic check it out. Upon checking the car out , the other mechanic informed him that the parts (this auto shop) used were USED parts NOT brand new parts. I felt really bad because I recommended this auto shop to him and even my auntie took her car there. And on top of that, he spent over 1000 dollars. Now his car gives him issues here and there .Why not just be honest? You charge someone for new parts but you use USED parts? Very deceitful. Customer # 1219 Jan. 05, 2024 : I DROVE my car to Sean's Auto Care. They told me it was misfire. They initially quoted me $ 450. However, they kept adding costs. Jan 12. 2024 : Their customer representative called me that the serpentine belt and idler pulley should be replaced. After I talked to him, I asked my husband about them. My husband told me that they were taken care and did not need to be replaced. ( Later, when my car was towed, my husband asked the owner about them, he told my husband that the serpentine belt and pulley were fine.) MISDIAGNOSIS and tried to overcharge. They did many things. However, I don't think they were related to the main issues because I had to tow my car within 2 weeks after I picked up the car from them on Jan. 25, 2024. I paid $ 4540.05 on Jan. 12, 2024 and another $ 600 on Jan. 25, 2024. The total was $ 5140.05. Feb. 11, 2024 : My car stopped and would not start in the middle of nowhere ( 80 miles away from my home). Feb. 12, 2024 : The car was TOWED to Sean's Auto Care again. Their customer representative told my husband " I told you. You should have replaced the serpentine belt and the pulley. Because of it, your car stopped " He didn't even open my hood. Feb. 13, 2024 : They told me they diagnosed but could not find anything wrong. Then, they wanted me to give them the authority to test gas. They blamed a bad gas that I filled up on Feb. 11, 2024. However, it was not gas problem. They MISDIAGNOSED again. They changed the ignition coils that they installed on my car again but nothing happened. Another misdiagnosis again. Even though they could not find anything while diagnosing, they wanted to charge me for diagnosis and test ( gas + what-so-called premium ignition coils). I complained about them. They dropped the charge. After I complained about their work and charges, they stopped communicating with me after Feb. 16, 2024. Feb. 23, 2024 I visited them to see what was going on. The owner told me that they had been busy and my car was not their top priority. I asked him "Can you fix it? Otherwise I want a refund". He said "Yes, I can fix it". I gave him another chance because he himself promised me that he would have his mechanic work on my car the next week ( Monday . Feb. 26, 2024). Nothing happened. No text, No phone call for update. March 01,2024 : I wrote the Google review, hoping that they take this issue seriously. March 04, 2024 : Their customer representative called me. I was told that they will not repair my car or refund because of my Google review. They also want me to pick up my car from their shop. I texted them " I am not picking up my car until you fix or refund. They insisted there were two separate issues in my car. So they will not refund. They insisted that they charged me right. They said they can not work without charge because the latter issue is totally different from the former one. However, they could not tell me what they were when I asked what was the second issue. ( I assume that they are not able to figure out or don't want to work without additional charge) Even if there were two seperate issues on my car, they should have figured them out in the first place when I drove my car on Jan. 05, 2024. They should have given me the total quote and asked me to make a decision in the very first place because nobody wants to spend over $5000 on the 16 year old car: They would purchase the new one if they received the over $ 5000 estimate before repair. Feb 11, 2024 My car was towed from Sean's auto care to Honda Van Nuys for diagnosis and repair. The result is what I didn't expect at all. Sean's Auto Care installed the aftermarket ignition coils and spike plugs and charged the 4 times more than OEM. ( The most ridiculous thing is that Sean accused my husband that my husband installed the aftermarket parts in my car and those caused the problems.) Shame on you, Sean! I reported this terrible incident to BAR, however, they cannot do anything for overcharge. San Fernando residents, 1. ask them for the written estimate before starting to say "yes". They will keep calling you , asking for your verbal authorization and adding more charge. 2. ask them to return your old parts to you. Those are your rights. (see BAR website) Don't contact and ask me to take my review off as you did before. I would not because I wrote the facts. These guys saved my ass. I had an emergency drum brake issue on my RV. I started the job at home and ran into a problem. Since it's the brakes, you don't want to mess around. I called the first mobile repair shop I saw, Caseys. I read the reviews, called him and got him on the phone. We talked it out, set an appointment for the next day between 12-1pm. Perfect! We were scheduled to leave on a very long road trip and needed this done ASAP. Well, his guy never showed up. Yup, totally bailed on me. A total waste of my day (took the day off work to be there). Now, I had only one day to find someone else, schedule it, do the job and hopefully, it worked out. I was stressed, to say the least. I got Sean on the line, told him my dilemma and he scheduled Joe to come out the next morning at 8:30 am. I had to work so I couldn't be there, but my girlfriend was there. I was concerned that they would try to scam her (too many bad stories about that). But at 8:30 Joe showed up and went right to work. Was completely professional, explained things to her, walked her through it and did the job right. I got home just as he was finishing up. Done. The right way. I really appreciate how fast Brenna and Sean answered messages in regards to my questions on my auto repairs I was having done. They did an inspection of my whole vehicle and gave me recommendations on things that are urgent and things that could wait. I left a five star review here before - Sean's is great if you have no major problems. I recently had some engine work done and three bolts holding the c.v. shaft together on the right side (two outer and one inner) were left off the car! I could have died or killed someone. Thank goodness I didn't take the advice to "drive" the car on the freeway. I gave Sean a call to get a Humvee started that he previously worked on. He initially seemed like a nice, upstanding, and knowledgeable guy. I'll even tell you that he was able to solve my problem. I'm selling the Humvee for a friend, and after I was unable to get it started one day my friend suggested that I call Sean. Sean's Mobile Auto Tech was the last company to service the Humvee. So I gave Sean a call and set up a date and time for him to work on the Humvee. There were a few hit and missed appointments (due to both parties) but we were finally able to get his mechanic over to do the job. Prior to his arrival, I mentioned that I could not get the Humvee started but the batteries had a voltage readout of 23.6. The Humvee has not one but two batteries and I charged each battery separately the night before but still was unable to get the Humvee started. This is a demilitarized Humvee so I just assumed that I was doing something wrong with the start sequence. Sean told me that he had already purchased batteries prior to the appointment, and I immediately asked him if he felt that was the issue. His reply was, "if we need them I'll replace them if not I can return them." I was like, "oh okay." I too am a car guy and thought to myself well these batteries are holding a charge so I know that's not the issue. Once Sean's mechanic got the Humvee started, Sean gives me a call to let me know that the batteries were bad and had to be replaced and to discuss how much I owed him. He reads the prices to me and my jaw was floored but I kept my composure and just asked him to text me a copy of the invoice. I immediately forwarded it to my friend and he was a bit in disbelief himself. He immediately asked me to take the batteries that were pulled out and have them tested. He also mentions that most batteries have a 1-year warranty on them. He asked me to get the serial numbers off of the batteries and call the manufacturer to check to see if they are still covered under warranty. After our conversation, I called Sean back and asked him if the batteries were left at the warehouse where the Humvee is being stored. He told me that he had them at his shop and was going to turn them in as cores. (basically, trade in the bad batteries to get a credit for the new batteries that were purchased.) I informed him that I wanted to pick up the batteries the very next day. He replied that he could have them tested. I said, "we would prefer to have our own guys test them. He simply replied, "OK but that doesn't make any sense." Maybe not to him but to us it made a world of sense. The very next day I arrive at his shop and ask him for the batteries and he tells me that he sent them off to be tested. I was like ok, but I told you that I was coming out here to pick them up so that I could have them tested. I no other choice but to await his diagnosis. (which he has already claimed to have tested and told me that the batteries were no good. They were bad using his exact words. ) Sean calls me back about 2-3 hours later and updates me. He says, " Marc, the batteries have been tested and are good!" I was like I thought so because I told you that I put a voltage meter on them prior to your mechanic working on the car. I ask, "so how much do I owe you now?" He does the math subtracting the cost of the batteries but now adding the cost of driving back to the truck and swapping the batteries back out. At this point, I'm appalled that he would even form his mouth to try and charge me for an initial false diagnosis. Now remember in all this I'm just a middle man trying to get this Humvee running for my good friend. So I feel that my stance is fairly neutral. I told Sean that if he was going to charge us to reinstall the batteries I would just do it myself. It didn't make any sense to charge us for something that your mechanic misdiagnosed. He really didn't seem to understand that part about customer service. We got off the phone and he ended up sending one of his guys to the location where the Humvee was being stored. It's at warehouse and he would have to be buzzed in with permission to access the Humvee. My friend and I felt that Sean and or his mechanic were being fraudulent and deceptive. So he would not allow Sean on to the property without someone accompanying him and he would have to replace the batteries back free of charge. We agree to pay him for getting it started and his first mobile fee, but that wasn't what he wanted to hear. We immediately turned from being his client to you "MuthaFuxkas." He called us every name you could think of on the phone hung up on us said that he would call the cops... and he did. Kept calling me back even after telling me to lose his number. He went from nice and trustworthy to irate and incohesive in a matter of hours. If a battery isn't starting you test it first before telling your client that they are bad.
