They have a pair of 3-4 inch heels to give you an idea of how much you need removed, but you should bring your own shoes if you have them ready. Needed about 3 inches off the bottom since it was too long and costed $50. A little higher than what I expected but the results are great, very clean stitching, can barely tell it was altered in the first place. It was ready in a couple of weeks. Thank you!

(Also you do not need to bring the hangers with them, they end up giving you some sturdy ones at pick up) After a bunch of research this was the closest I could find that I felt was right and sometimes you gotta trust your gut. I took my suit and blazer in for a clean on a Tuesday and was quoted to come back on Friday. Luckily I didn't need it right away but that should give y'all an idea of how long it could take. The kind man helped me and made it seamless and easy. Picked up my stuff Friday afternoon and it was a lady this time who was soft spoken and also helped me with my questions such as alternations as I need to do that at a later time. Overall I'd come back again and hopefully get my suit altered too to see how their quality is

I am writing this review in response to the owner's way of handling our issue. My wife and I…read morebrought in our comforter to get it dry cleaned. As first-time customers, we decided to trust Green Leaf Cleaners because the owner was very confident and experienced in his work. We disclosed that the comforter required delicate care, as it was made with silk, to which he stated he handles delicate materials all the time. To our surprise, after we had picked up the item and brought it home, we inspected three holes about one inch long on certain areas of the cover where there were "flowers" stitched on, as well as several smaller sized holes. I understand that as a business owner, you must protect yourself by not admitting fault when we brought to your attention that your machines may have caused damage to our item. We could have demanded the current market value of the comforter as compensation, which is $500, but chose not to. Instead of taking accountability, you denied our allegations and instead offered to repair the holes as a "courtesy" because we showed up as first-time customers, as if you were doing us a favor. With our intention of showing you the damage, not only the big holes but also the smaller-sized ones, you portrayed a negative attitude by chuckling and shaking your head when we were pointing out the small holes. With that behavior, we believed that we couldn't entrust you to repair our comforter anymore. We appreciate that in the end you agreed to give us a partial refund of $50. However, you first said that (1) you didn't have cash and (2) you needed to contact the credit card company to issue the refund, as you didn't know how to, therefore asking us to return in a day or two. We asked for it in writing for reassurance. I suppose you didn't like the idea because you ended up handing us $50 in cash. I have respect for what you do as a small business owner, working tirelessly on so many items every day. It's not easy work, and I can tell you take pride in what you do. However, I suggest that you work on your integrity and take personal responsibility, having money-back guaranteed policies for your business, and most importantly evaluating your empathy and customer service. To customers out there: take pictures of your item before you bring it to this business, and be prepared that they will only partially compensate if your item incurs damages.

When it finally came to discussing compensation, the owner said they would only pay $100-200. This is outrageous, considering the hoodie cost me over $900. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner even threatened to call the police on me, saying I was "disturbing" their business, when all I wanted was a fair solution. Since they refused to resolve it, I filed a Small Claims Court case. Nearly a year later, the judge ruled in my favor and awarded me the compensation I deserved. This whole experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional. If you ever face a similar situation, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself--take it to Small Claims Court and let the law protect your rights. Avoid this place at all costs.

The reviews were pretty positive so I felt good coming here. Located in a plaza right near Safeway, parking is abundant and free so no concern there. It can get busy in here. I arrived on a weekday after work and there was one person in front of me, but I was quickly helped out afterward. They had me try on the dress and got to working pining everything down. Once I reviewed their pinning, I changed back into my regular clothes, paid, and left. Drop off and pick up is really easy. My dress after alterations turned out great and I'd happily come here again for any alterations need.

I come to pick it up 4/23/25 to see that the top seems like it is not fitting well. I notice my top of my dress seems to be fitting very thin and the flower design on my dress is missing.... When I take off my dress, I see this huge black stain on the flower OF MY WEDDING DRESS... I asked Rose and she says it's okay, and easy to wash off.. why would I wash it off when I BOUGHT MY WEDDING DRESS NEW??????? I get home and I examine my dress and they were supposed to CUT THE BOTTOM because it was too long for me to walk. IT SEEMS THEY CUT THE MIDDLE OF MY DRESS TO GRAB SOME FABRIC...... the bra portion of my dress feels flimsy they took the padding out and there is a huge slit where it seems like they just pieced it together and sewed it. It looks like cheaply cut like a 2nd grader cut with scissors.... So unprofessionally done... I came back 4/24/25 and ask Rose what happened and she said its not my fault its just dust.. Your shoes are dirty. I told her my wedding shoes are NEW!!!! Everything when i try is new. This stain is from you guys!!!! I proceeded to ask for a refund and she told me no nothing she can do just go wash my dress.. completely unacceptable. I AM LIVID. I DONT KNOW WHY I PROCEEDED TO PAY THE REMAINING $70 WHEN IT WAS NOT WORTH PAYING FOR ESPECIALLY A NEW DRESS I BOUGHT AND TRUSTED ROSE'S INPUT TO MAKE SURE MY WEDDING DRESS IS OK. WHEN I ASK FOR THE RECEIPT SHE SAID SHE CHANGED TO PAID. They lost my trust and i will never be walking to this store ever again!!!!!!! Also, her store is soooo dirty. There is lint and dustballs and hair everywhere its not clean. was not going to put my wedding dress on their dirty floor but i regret not double checking only to find out this place is very shady........... **DO NOT GO HERE, YOU ARE BETTER OFF GOING ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE** THEY WILL TAKE THE ORIGINAL MATERIAL OF YOUR CLOTHES AND REMOVE EVERYTHING. THIS PLACE IS NOT HONEST. I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED IN ROSE AND THIS STORE THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!

If you consider yourself a busy…read moreperson who needs someone to perform alterations within a specified time frame, AVOID Said with Threads and strongly consider going elsewhere. Her inability to properly schedule appointments and have projects completed on time disqualifies "Said with Threads, LLC" as a viable option for having clothing alterations performed. If you are an East Bay resident and need alterations performed, please read the rest of this review before scheduling an appointment with this establishment. I've been going to Eileen since December 2024. Online reviews looked good, and her shop was near my house, which made it convenient for me. I encountered an odd issue with her during my first visit. She had informed me my pants were ready for pickup, and I specified the day/time I would be coming in. When I went to her shop for pickup, I called, and she informed me she had gone to deliver an order for someone else because she didn't think I would appear on time. I was completely baffled as to why she reached this conclusion and why she admitted it verbally. Between September and October 2025, I had requested that she perform alterations on some pants. On this occasion I was charged the day I left the articles with her and was assured they'd be ready on the date she had specified. Prior to picking them up, I called Eileen and informed her I was on my way. When she answered, she told me my pants were not ready and that she hadn't even started working on them. I was quite upset over this since more than a week had passed since I'd left the pants with her. About a month later, I brought in a blazer she had worked on previously and asked her to reattach the buttons, as some of them had come loose. Although she did not charge me for this, she assured me the blazer would be ready on time. She failed to have the blazer ready on time when I went to her shop. I went to go run some errands for about an hour, and when I came back, she had finished working on my blazer. This indicated that she did not need more than a week to work on my blazer and had procrastinated or otherwise failed to make good use of her time. What frustrated me, however, was the condition in which she returned my blazer. It was covered in lint/hair/debris and had a strange odor to it. I had dry-cleaned it prior to leaving it with Eileen, and her utter lack of regard for keeping it clean really upset me. Most recently, during December 2025, I requested an appointment two days in advance. I wanted her to hem some pants I needed for work. She had agreed to meet me at 11 am on a Wednesday. On the day of the appointment, I called her to let her know I had arrived. When she answered, she told me she had mistakenly marked my appointment for a different time/day and had left to attend to another client.

I found Said With Threads through a Facebook wedding page and Yelp (all with good reviews!). Eileen doesn't uncharge for weddings so her price was much more reasonable compared to other bridal boutiques. Another reason I chose her was because her shop was close by, only a ~10 minute drive away. Initially, the plan was to have the dress done in 3-4 visits but it ended up being a total of 10 (!!!!) appts... literally up until the week before leaving for my wedding. It was soooo stressful going into each appt because it was always a gamble on whether or not the dress had been changed/fixed since the last appt. In addition, EVERY TIME that the dress was too tight, she asked if it was because I was bloated/swollen from being on my menstrual cycle.. even when I'm not (not sure if it's just me but I find that to be lowkey rude lol) 6/21 - initial consult 7/9 - first fitting, measured and pinned 7/16 - waist too tight, cut hem 7/30 - waist still too tight, uneven hem 8/4 - cancelled due to covid 8/24 - still the same waist tightness, she noticed I was upset so she planned/pinned the bustle 8/28 - waist slightly looser but still tight, bustle uneven 9/3 - nothing done because she thought the appt was the next day 9/4 - tightness around the waist still the same, shoulder straps uneven, I requested to see the dress with the bustle undone and I noticed that the hem was way too long when the bustle was let down 9/9 - waist feels even tighter, I had to recommend her to measure my waist with my regular clothes on for comparison 9/10 - dress fits well, she fixed some slightly loose fabric under one armpit when I pointed it out but OMG FINALLY DONE!!!

When I asked if they could fix the mistake, I was told I would need to pay again. Under the previous ownership, they would correct errors at no additional cost--so this felt like a big step down in customer service. Another issue is that they now require payment upfront. This makes it difficult to address problems after the fact, since you've already paid regardless of the outcome. The overall experience has also declined. Instead of returning items neatly steamed on hangers with protective covering, they now hand them back folded in a paper bag. It feels rushed and lacks the care they used to provide. Overall, the new management seems to prioritize process over customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, I won't be returning and cannot recommend this place.
