I am writing this review in response to the owner's way of handling our issue. My wife and I brought in our comforter to get it dry cleaned. As first-time customers, we decided to trust Green Leaf Cleaners because the owner was very confident and experienced in his work. We disclosed that the comforter required delicate care, as it was made with silk, to which he stated he handles delicate materials all the time. To our surprise, after we had picked up the item and brought it home, we inspected three holes about one inch long on certain areas of the cover where there were "flowers" stitched on, as well as several smaller sized holes. I understand that as a business owner, you must protect yourself by not admitting fault when we brought to your attention that your machines may have caused damage to our item. We could have demanded the current market value of the comforter as compensation, which is $500, but chose not to. Instead of taking accountability, you denied our allegations and instead offered to repair the holes as a "courtesy" because we showed up as first-time customers, as if you were doing us a favor. With our intention of showing you the damage, not only the big holes but also the smaller-sized ones, you portrayed a negative attitude by chuckling and shaking your head when we were pointing out the small holes. With that behavior, we believed that we couldn't entrust you to repair our comforter anymore. We appreciate that in the end you agreed to give us a partial refund of $50. However, you first said that (1) you didn't have cash and (2) you needed to contact the credit card company to issue the refund, as you didn't know how to, therefore asking us to return in a day or two. We asked for it in writing for reassurance. I suppose you didn't like the idea because you ended up handing us $50 in cash. I have respect for what you do as a small business owner, working tirelessly on so many items every day. It's not easy work, and I can tell you take pride in what you do. However, I suggest that you work on your integrity and take personal responsibility, having money-back guaranteed policies for your business, and most importantly evaluating your empathy and customer service. To customers out there: take pictures of your item before you bring it to this business, and be prepared that they will only partially compensate if your item incurs damages. read more

Last year, I brought my Burberry hoodie to Green Live Cleaners. When I went to pick it up, they couldn't find it and kept delaying for more than three weeks. When it finally came to discussing compensation, the owner said they would only pay $100-200. This is outrageous, considering the hoodie cost me over $900. Instead of taking responsibility, the owner even threatened to call the police on me, saying I was "disturbing" their business, when all I wanted was a fair solution. Since they refused to resolve it, I filed a Small Claims Court case. Nearly a year later, the judge ruled in my favor and awarded me the compensation I deserved. This whole experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional. If you ever face a similar situation, don't be afraid to stand up for yourself--take it to Small Claims Court and let the law protect your rights. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

It took me a whole year to write this review but I think it's time for me to do that. I'm so scarred and didn't really want to talk about it but I figure maybe someone can be more Vigilant about it than me. Got married last year and wanted to get my wedding dress cleaned so I decided to come here bc I saw some reviews about a positive wedding dress cleaning experience. I called ahead and got quoted and I found it reasonable so I decided to come here. Brought my dress here and 3 wks later I got a call that my dress is cleaned and I can pick up. I went to pick my dress and the owner said he did his best to clean my dress and said there was a blue ink spot in the middle of my dress. He mentioned he washed it a few times and it won't come off. In the midst of him telling me this, I questioned myself if I inked my dress without myself knowing... but that's impossible bc I don't think I held a pen that night. I was gullible and didn't question the dry cleaner and proceed in making a full payment to the dry cleaning and it was like $$$!! I honestly felt I was in shock and had to think about if I made the ink make myself or not. And then I got home, sulked a little bit bc I was confused and didn't know I inked my dress or not.... Then a few days later, I looked at my dress and looked at the inside... and realized the pink tag was still there and it has blue ink all over it..... and the ink got all over the inside of my white dress!!! I felt so dumb that I paid. I called back to green leaf cleaners and left a message. Never heard back! I can't believe how irresponsible this place was. I never got an apology and proceed in making me pay for this terrible service. I didn't want to write about it bc I feel terrible but I feel like maybe another person or bride can learn from this. Now I have a stained dress and a bad experience. I am not going to let this experience overwrite my amazing wedding but I'm really sad that my dress I loved is in this condition. read more

You are the life saver for my tweed jacket!!! My tweed jacket was stained by chili oil as you could see in the pictures. It was very challenging to clean due to the special material it was made of. The owner was very attentive and patient explaining everything to me and inspecting the jacket. She shared honestly that she would try her best but could not guarantee the stain would come off. After waiting for a week, I got my jacket back. The owner did a magical job!!! My jacket looked like brand new. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You are the best. I have been using the Green Leaf dry cleaner on Decoto Rd and Fremont Blvd for at least 10 years regularly. When the current owners purchased the business many years ago I was happy they too were careful and thorough with the clothing and would cover buttons on a few items that required it and continued with the great service of clothing I had been accustomed too. Over the past several months I noticed the owners not there as often and my cloths coming back over stretched (sweaters) and I began to have skin irritations. A younger gentleman now services in the front. Last week I picked up my garment that I had taken back having some spots removed they missed and it was ruined with some type of blue stain. When I questioned the young man he was irritated with me asking what happened. I was very upset, one of my favorite pieces of clothing, he was rude and very confrontational. He angrily said over the years one ruined piece of clothing should not judge the business..needless to say , they have lost my business.....I dislike giving a bad review to the owners i respected however this was just not OK in my opinion.... read more

I mainly dry clean my suits. My two shirt had really bad make up stains that I was very skeptical of it coming off. I dropped both shirts off for really good price. Picked up the shirts todays and I was flabbergasted on how clean they were. The make up stains were completely off. This will be my go to spot for my suits from now on. read more

I started coming here because Pegasus cleaners closed. This place was convenient as it was really close. The beginning the customer service was okay. After a while the husband started becoming really rude and multiple times would tell me to pay upfront when in fact there was history of me coming to their cleaners for a few months now. Keep in mind I never hassled or tried to bargain with them even though they are a bit pricy. I would see people drop off and not pay as many cleaners are optional and most people pay on pick up. He told me many times to pay at drop off so I told him why, when it never was an issue before. especially I felt uncomfortable paying on drop off because they did lose a pair of pants and then apologized but I did not make it a big issue, despite. The whole suit being wasted due to the pants being lost by the cleaners. I told him no one pays on drop off he said; his words ( you never know what people are like and some don't come back or they leave there clothes we need to collect our money ) it annoyed me as it felt like he was very rude and judgmental. I told him these clothes are worth 4x to what I am paying for dry cleaning and I never once not paid in fact I always ask for the soonest date, as I bring them in as a lump sum. I informed him of my one of the pants that they lost and he said (I know it's just policy) After that I never went back. I found a cleaner that charges $6.00 per item with starch when they charge near $8.00 per item and extra for starch. The wife is nice and never bothered me but she is hardly there the husband is rude and judgmental and I feel that he is a bit racist after those remarks. I would avoid this place pricy and poor services. I have been going to complete cleaners in Newark off of Thornton. Nothing beats $6.00 per item for dry cleaning and you get to choose the date you want to pick it up. It could be as soon as 2 days and the service is amazing as well. I will not give my business to someone who is racist and judges people based on their nationality. read more

This is the most unethical business I have dealt with in a long time, and if I could give a -10, I would. Because of my awful experience here I have finally made my first post ever on yelp. I regular get most of my clothes tailor and dry clean at a place much further from where I live because they stand by their workmanship and I can appreciate their business integrity and understanding in building long term relationships. However due to their tailor taking a long vacation, I thought I would try another place. I brought a pair of pants to hem the bottom bringing with me and wearing a specific flat pair of shoes that I wear daily while trying it on to get measured. I specifically said, hem the pants as long as you can without touching the floor. When I picked up the pants, I asked if I should try it on. The same man who working their who I presume is the owner said no need if there is an issue, we can fix it. I was relieved to know that as I always try on my clothes before I leave the shop if it's being tailored. I went home tried it on with the same shoes I brought to their shop and saw that it was about 2 cm too long sweeping the floor. I came back 5 days later and explained the situation and the same man who helped me said you will need to pay to get it fixed. I reiterated our conversation and said you told me that I didn't need to try it on when I picked up my pants. I wore and brought the same shoes today that I wore here when trying on the pants. I told you then to hem the pants as long as we can get it and yet my pants is sweeping the floor, and you said if I had issues come back you would redo it. He said doesn't matter if I wore it on here or at home any redo I will charge you same price as a new pants. I said why would I want my pants to be longer than my shoe if I brought a specific pair with me to try on? He said you agreed to the lengthy and now you changed your mind. It's not about the money as $20 is minimal, it's about upholding a level of business ethics and standing by one's words and how one is spoken to and treated as a customers and conducting business in manner that is right. Am a life long customer and willing to drive far and pay more for good workmanship and ethical business practice with a level of basic customer service. It doesn't need to be excellent service just basic is sufficient for me. This is the worst place I have ever experienced and I rarely ever complain about services in general. Take your business elsewhere where they understand how to do business in manner that is respectful and stands by their services and words. read more

I stopped by on two occasions. The first was to get a couple pairs of pants hemmed, which were finished in a week - perfect since I wasn't in any rush. When I picked up my pants, I ended up dropping off my wedding dress for cleaning and preservation since I saw they offered those services as well and I'd been looking for an eco-friendly location to do exactly that. I needed to get a dress hemmed same-day and found this place that my parents used once upon a time. I called first thing in the morning and the owner said while it's not preferred she could make it work if I brought it in ASAP and gave her the day to finish it. I got the dress to her around 8:30 that morning and picked it up at the end of the day. She was courteous, efficient, and the work was impeccable. She was thankful to me for supporting their small business, but in reality she saved me from having to do a hack hem tape job to my daughter's dress for a performance. I bought a Groupon for Green Leaf and what an experience. A very pleasant girl greets me and starts helping me but the moment I pull out the Groupon she asks me to wait for the older lady. The older lady (presumably the owner), I sensed, was not too happy with the Groupon either. She looks at my Suede Leather Jacket and says the coupon does not cover that and I said sure, I can pay for it separately. But then the lady says to ignore the price list, as they were 25% off listed price. Now that's fishy! The old lady quoted rates which sounded exorbitant to me. It was getting frustrating so, I let her decide what she could dry clean for the coupon. I was not happy with the attitude and tone so ended up taking the Suede Jacket to another Dry Cleaner. *Phew* Why have a Groupon deal, when honoring it is so hard? Totally Unethical! read more

As others have said, the staff here is friendly and the quality of work is very good. I took a nice long-sleeved shirt in for some serious alterations (it was way too big on me), and although she didn't remove quite enough material the first time, she gladly re-altered it. The final product was just what I wanted, and well worth the $15. I'll definitely have more clothes altered at Green Leaf, and my girlfriend uses them regularly for dry cleaning. Hands down the best cleaners in Fremont. The staff is amazing and they are one of the very few places that do laudry service. My clothes always are done 100% and if there is an issue like a hole etc they always call and let me know that they will fix it frree of charge. The "green" cleaning is great too I have noticed that I dont have as much damage to my pants from the dry cleaning process now that I use Green Leaf. I use the laundry service religously as I travel quite a bit with work and with 2 kids the laundry can pile up. Not only do they fold the laundry to perfection but they sort it by child and then bag it seperatly as well. Muah ! Thanks for making my life earier. read more

I cannot believe I'm about to write a review on how awful this place is as I'm a firm believer on Yelping when it's absolutely worthy of 5 stars. I give this place ZERO stars as I couldn't even move forward with trying it out even with a Groupon. 1. Girls picked up my EVER sweater and goes, I'm not sure what this is and I'm gonna have to charge more because of the hole-y stitchwork and it's white. So I guess she had to ask the owner and also told her that I had a groupon, to which she coldly replied $7.45. 2. I had a scarf with embellishments along the border, and she had to make a disclaimer to me that they are not responsible if they fall out. WHAT? I've never had that issue before. 3. 8 items along the way, barely 2/3 through my load, I asked how much the total came to, it was a whopping $97.60!!!!! I told her to give me my entire load back. I'm never coming here again. You don't upcharge just because I have a Groupon. You don't make stupid disclaimers on embellishments when I'm paying you to clean it. read more

I'm a fan because they do "green" dry cleaning - low chemicals or something. But I don't know if my clothes came out any better than your average dry cleaners. The great thing about this place is they often have coupons in the local circulars and they hand out coupons too - you can keep using the same ones. So sweaters are 2.50, for example. Not too bad. And they give you a nice laundry bag, which I actually do use to store all my dry cleanables until I have time to take them in. read more
