As I'm walking out he tells me to "spend some money next time". Not getting a cent from me after that! Worst customer service I've received in a long time. Be a better steward of your sport! Helping people new to the sport is an important role for shops to play. Would love to support my local bike shop but nah I'll just buy everything on the internet after that experience!

After trueing the wheel as best they could, (a very old rim that had seen many miles,) they explained it was rideable but not 100%; they also recommended replacing the crank as it was quiet bent. They didn't hard sell me on a new bike or over charge for the work done. I was just traveling through when I needed the service but each time I'm riding in the area this shop will be my go to place to get bikes tuned, replacement parts, or a whole new whip. Fred was patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely compassionate. He listened carefully as I explained the pain I've experienced in ski boots for years--even those from expensive specialty shops. For the first time, I truly felt heard and understood. I have skied my entire life, starting at age four, and I had never known skiing without boot pain. Fred took the time to explore multiple solutions and never once rushed me. He genuinely cared about getting it right. Some shops don't seem to take female skiers seriously, but Fred absolutely did. I hadn't even planned to buy boots that day; I was just browsing. But thanks to Fred's expertise, I ended up purchasing the best boots I've ever owned. I literally cried when I skied in them--no pain and no break-in period. I had resigned myself to the idea that I'd need $1,500 custom boots forever, but Fred found the perfect pair for me for just $600, tax included. Because my experience was so incredible, I insisted my husband return the following weekend to buy his boots from Fred as well. I had the worst experience…read morewhen I went into the store looking for a pair of waterproof boots, which would probably cost close to $200. I saw a pair of Solomons in my size on the sale rack and they were attached by a zip tie and a locked merchandise key. I asked a bald man who was working there. I'm not sure if he's the manager if he could unlock it and he said no you have to just try on one at a time and see if they work. I immediately left the store because I think this horrible customer service and this guy is an imbecile. I am a customer that lives in the Vail Valley and comes to the store for outerwear and he just lost me as a customer because I wanted to try on a pair of boots!!!???? he said that too many people walk out of there without paying so I have to be inconvenience because sun and ski sports cannot manage their loss prevention. Needless to say, I'll never be back and I'm heading all the way to Glenwood Springs to go to the REI where I have a membership. Don't go to the store. It's horrible.
