My husband and I came here from a recommendation and were very pleased with the service and our ski/snowboard rentals. The price was so much better than renting on the mountain with the epic discount! Will definitely rent from here in the future. read more

I bought boot heaters a few years ago. There have been problems. Kind people worked with me throughout the process (repeated failures). They were patient, everybody won. We are fortunate to have merchants like this in our community (not corporate). Thanks, Chris. read more

I had a wonderful experience with my Yeti! They took care of it on the spot, ordered what I needed, so I didn't have to be without my bike. Just so refreshing to have great customer service! read more

Solid bike shop with excellent product. Not much else to say. Chris is a good dude. Best place to buy or rent Specialized gear, they have the most inventory. read more

Sales people are so friendly and the products are top notch! Bought a great Soecialized electric bike from them and I'm so psyched with product. read more

This place is the best in the Valley. The crew there took care of everything for my new ski and boot purchase, were super nice and accommodating. Bonus on top of the great customer service is the fact that the skis I got were a sick deal. They were priced higher online. This is definitely the place to go!!! read more

DISHONEST company that misrepresents what they do. I brought a cannondale bike to be reassembled after it was shipped from Pennsylvania. They never told me they do not deal with cannondale. The service manager sent me a picture of my bike with the seat post in place notifying me the bike was damaged after someone forced the seat post into the bike frame. The owner Chris Anderson said the bike was likely under a damage warranty. He said the the bike was handled correctly at his shop but there was a defect in the bike frame. Chris's store recommended I take the bike to a store in Avon that deals with cannondale. The cannondale store sent the information in for review to cannondale. The company said there was no warranty defect. When the warranty path did not work Kind bike and skies said the store in Pa damaged the bike in boxing. The bike was shipped without the seat in place. When Chris Anderson, the owner of Kind Bikes and Skies, could not place blame on the other store, this dishonest person blamed me for opening up the box lid. Every angle to not take any responsibility for damage. Chris Anderson and Kind Bike and Skies has taken zero responsibility for irreparable damage to a very expensive bike. Totally, not a trustworthy store. Get your bikes, bike repair and skies at an honorable store. Avon has a great store and closer to the slopes. read more

We have been coming to Kind to rent our skis in Beaver Creek for three years now and they are the best. Ben and Ray always take great care of us. They also keep your history (boot/ski size) which keeps things simple and their rates are much better than on the mountain. Thank you Ben and Ray! read more

Made a last minute decision to mtn bike for the day. Saw that this shop rented bikes and filled out the rental form online. I showed up a little while later and the bike was ready to go. They hooked me up with an excellent full suspension rig like mine at home, and took the time to fit the bike and make sure I had all I needed for a day of riding. Very patient and friendly staff. Very clean and well stocked. Will be back. read more

Kind Bikes and Skis - Bikes Near Me - Edwards, Colorado

My wife brought my sons bike in this shop for a brake issue on Tuesday May 21. She was immediately sold a "tune" which she did not ask for, but not knowing any better she approved. She was told that the bike will be ready in "couple of days". On Friday May 24 I went to check the status of the bike and a tech told me that there was an issue with the rear brake as it was all of a sudden pouring brake fluid, which it did not do when we brought the bike there. I asked him why but he kept saying that the bike was 10 years old and did not give an exact reason why it is leaking now. He showed me on his computer a new break system which cost $65 and he was going to order immediately and the bike would be ready by Tuesday May 28 at the latest. Today Monday May 27 we went to check on the bike and was told that the new brake has not been ordered yet and it would take a minimum three more days with a list of new excuses. At this point I told them that I would like to take the bike to different shop, because I was unhappy with the ever changing story and un-kept promises. I was told that all other shops would take them longer to fix it and if I really wanted to take the bike I had to pay them $75 for the "tune". I did pay it. I also took the bike to another shop who had it fixed with a new brake in about an hour and a half. Yes, today, right a way on Memorial Day. So, in conclusion I hope that the Kind bike shop management feels that my $75 for the tune my wife did not ask for and a lost six days is fair trade for this honest and factual review. Your mileage may vary. read more

Great service!!! They were very helpful! The owner is there to assist you. I have bought four bikes from them already.

Set my skis (bases and edges) straight after a few seasons of rock-dodging at Squaw... Good as new, and very fast, efficient service. Bravo! read more

The people at The Kind Cyclist aren't very kind. Oh the irony. This review is for the ski rentals. I had one day to ski while here in Vail and rented my skis from here. My boots were the worst boots I have ever rented. They fit terribly and kept unsnapping in the middle of skiing. I wasn't able to control my skis at all and it was really dangerous. When I brought the boots back to the shop and told them that the boots were not working and dangerous, it turned into a fiesta of douchebaggery. The rentals were $29.00 a day which they refused to refund. Not only that, they told me that there was nothing wrong with the boots and that it was probably my ski pants (which just for the record I never tuck into my boots). The staff was rude, but this attitude also came from the manager/ owner who was not even concerned that he was renting people defunct and dangerous equipment. I felt very unsafe using their equipment and I always rent skis when coming into town, never from here though and never again. I've been skiing since I was 4 years old. My only option with this bad equipment was to snow plow down the icy slopes. It was scary. Don't rent your skis here. Bad equipment is not something you want to deal with on the slopes. read more

When we had a bike rack coming loose from our trailer and pulled in for their help they all dropped what they were doing to get us back together. Everyone rallied to make sure things were safe and secure. Ultimately, the fix did not involve us buying anything from the shop but their concern for making things safe went beyond a purchase. These days, people that go above and beyond are rare and rarer still are those that do it because it's the right thing to do regardless of financial gain. Spend your money with these guys! read more

NOT Kind. The owner/ manager in particular was unbelievably pompous and outright rude. Spend your money somewhere where you'll be treated with respect. read more

Let me tell you three key facts that anyone visiting Edwards/Beaver Creek/Vail will want to know about Kind: 1. Bike rentals: high quality bikes with the latest technology and hardware. The Kind folks are just that KIND. They know their bike business, are attentive to making sure their patrons are comfortable in the bike/know how to use, and offer great insight into bike trails and excursions. They guys are enthusiasts and harness their passion to helping others have a good time. 2. Hiking: the Kind team can tell you a myriad of great hikes. When spring skiing has variable temps or if you're there in summer, they know the fun trails, how to get their, latest conditions. We found them super helping and we loved their hike suggestions (we did three on three different days). 3. Ski rentals: THey have the latest stuff, offer three different packages (sport, performance, super skilled) and tailor equipment accordingly. Their prices are superb - they beat rentski.com by as much as 25%. And they work with you to set you up. Can't say enough on how easy and enjoyable they made it. So get Kind, use Kind, and be Kind. Good luck. I want to reiterate what my husband said. The people at KIND could not have been more helpful, in recommending hikes, bikes and helping us choose ski packages. Their equipment was excellent, and their prices beat the competition, down to a pair of ski goggles. We saved time as well by getting our skis at the Kind shop instead of waiting in line somewhere else. read more

Kind was out of road bikes to rent us,so they gave us a deal on Electric assisted bikes, set us up for a super fun day. Very helpful people. Recommend the electric bikes, too. read more

I lived in Vail last year and needed a road bike to take full advantage of being in the valley. The options are limited and I jumped the gun too quickly and bought a bike here. To their credit there were some nice people on staff, but I found the owner to be rude and unaccommodating. Had to deal with him a lot because it's a small bike shop. I did end up buying a bike here, because there weren't a lot of options, but I do regret it. After spending about a grand on a bike I thought maybe they would help put a bike computer on, but they said it would be a pain in the a** and they would consider doing it for $100. Seems a little outrageous for a customer who just dropped a bunch of money. Once they had my business I was actually treated worse than before, zero appreciation. Would not recommend going here or giving them your business, but they do have quality bikes, for the same price as everywhere else. The whole point in getting a bike at a local bike shop is to get great service, which you will not get here once they get your money. read more

Had a bike advertised on the rack, had a girl come in after talking about buying for a while and say oh I put the wrong price on it and instead of offering the bike at the marked price they say it was actually sold a week ago. Waisted 45 minutes of our time. read more

The service and attitude lives up to their name - KIND! This is really the best place in Vail Valley (Eagle River Valley) to get skis and cycling equipment. LOCALLY OWNED, LOCALLY OPERATED! It's good old fashioned personal service without the snarky attitude we so often run into near or on the mountain, particularly with the constant turnover of employees who really couldn't give a care about whether the customer is satisfied or not. Certainly not the case at Kind! I recently bought a new pair of skis and bindings. I knew exactly what I wanted when I went in and was thrilled that I could support a local business and come out better than what I would have online. Be kind to yourself and visit Kind for all your skiing and cycling needs. (they have clothes as well as equipment). read more

I had such a great experience with The Kind Cyclist! I rented skis from them on Friday and wasn't sure if I would go on Saturday. I called them Saturday morning last minute and asked if they could have all my same gear ready for me since we were running late. I walked in, they handed me the gear and I walked out in less than a minute! They get an A+ for service. I enjoyed everyone that I talked to there and would definitely rent from them again!! read more

This week I rented a bike from Kind Bikes. Equipment. Specialized traditional road bike. Excellent condition. Well maintained. Service. Excellent. Ben took the time to get the bike that fit my needs and my size. He even adjusted the seat 3 times to make sure that I had the correct fit. Location. Super convenient. Highly recommend renting from these folks. read more

We were in Colorado last week and decided to rent ebikes for the day. Last Fall we rented from Kind and the experience was so good, we decided to return and had another awesome experience. I so wish I remember the name of the guy who greeted us at the front desk as he was great! So helpful and he moved super quick!! When we returned the bikes, the person there at that time was just as nice. Kudos to the owner for hiring great staff. Definitely will return! read more

This is a great shop for your Summer or Winter gear needs. The great service and attitude starts with the owner Chris Anderson, who is a 20 year+ local in the valley. Wonderful staff and very professional. They will exceed your expectations! read more

Best bike shop in the valley! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about all products. Best selection of soft goods for biking as well as hard goods. Best stocked bike shop in the valley and special ordering usually doesn't take more then a week, depending on when the order is placed and everything. Also the best bike mechanics in the valley with the most knowledge. Brought many bikes here after trying other bike shops and this was hands down the best in service and turn around time. They also have a wide selection of amazing skis for everyone from beginner to expert. and they stock my personal favorite Helly Hansen clothing! Managers/owners are friendly and do an amazing job running the business. read more

Great shop. Nice selection of rental bikes and equipment. I had a small equipment failure (heavy trail use casualty) and they were quick to resolve and apologetic. Glad to ride with them again next summer read more

Very unfortunate. The store is nice and the people that work there seem nice... until theyre not. Bad temper, bad service, angry faces. There are other, and better stores in the Valley. read more

The KIND ski shop / cyclist: As for ski rentals, they were great! They totally tuned and took extra care with our 10 yr old's skis. My friends rented skis and boots there and the staff was very helpful. When one friend ended up not skiing the last day, she was not charged for that day's rental even though we brought both rentals back at the same time. Great in my book! read more

I agree with Jackie L and Danielle F! I usually use Pedal Power, but thought I'd try The Kind because it was closer. Big mistake. The employees were arrogant, I was overcharged, and my repair required 15 minutes at home and a tool kit to fix properly. Fortunately, there are plenty of other bike shops in the Vail Valley. Good luck! read more

Just had a great Chrismas shopping experience at the Kind cyclist. They helped me find an item that I was having trouble with finding for a Christmas gift. Also, it turns out that the item was going to cost less at the Kind than it would at Sports Authority! Great locally owned shop (ski shop in the winter too). The owners and staff are helpful and friendly, and they are truly excited about the business they are in and it shows. As a local, we all have our own go-to ski and bike shops that we take our out of town friends to, and that we use for our own needs. The Kind is where I will be brining my out of town friends in for their ski rentals, and from now on is where I will be going for my bike gear in the summer and my ski tunes. read more

This place is horrible. I bought a Pinarello while I was in town and turned out it was the wrong size. Tried to return it and only got attitude. I am from Oklahoma and took it to two different shops that sell Pinarello and they both said it was too big. When I contacted Kind they only gave me attitude and acted like since I was from Oklahoma that myself or the other bike shops had no clue about the bike or how to fit one. It was a big mess and I finally gave up on dealing with them. The owner is a pompous punk that acts as if he knows all and if you question him then you are in the wrong. Spend your money elsewhere! read more
