Had a great time with our family here. Amanda was so helpful and they were so nice to upgrade our second room to be closer to each other. For the price the rooms are very good. They felt clean and the bed was very comfortable. 1-2 minute walk to the main strip. They have a rooftop with a nice view you can bring your own food and drinks. Felt like a homey place.

Had the most pleasant stay the first weekend of this year, at the Seacrest Inn. And despite having to stay an extra night, due to canceled boat travel back to the mainland, I took advantage to meader and explore since one can't control Mother Nature. I had my room booked for almost a year (3/29/2023), this after, securing my Avalon 50 entry on 3/05/23, which put my mind at ease. I guess you can say I don't like to stress or feel rushed to find a place when it comes to destination races. Upon arrival, I was greeted and shown my room. Everything was exactly as described by others and quite comfortable. The only thing I would change, at least for the dolphin room, is to replace the mini fridge as it freezes everything you put into it. A mini fridge w/out freezer would be ideal to avoid the mishaps. 10/10, and despite the mini fridge, I'd stay here again. I really enjoyed my stay and and it was comfortable.

 Best Kept Seacret!!

Very nice extremely clean small hotel/Inn in Catalina Island. Might be a best kept secret. The Inn keeper Michael is super nice and fun. Very organized and great communications from the minute of the reservation. I have nothing bad to say about the stay. So worth the savings in staying here instead of the bigger hotels. I stayed in the Captains room. It is up stairs you can request downstairs rooms if needed. The TV and Internet are not the best but not a deal breaker as the island is such a great vibe. Strongly recommend the Conservancy tour for 2 hours and Antonios Pizza !! And the coffee & cookie place in the market place is possible th best bagel and croissant breakfast EVER!! Carmel Rum coffee !! Even if you go for the day and the tour & food its a day you won't forget!! GREAT STAY!!

It's a small place but that's described already when you book the room for everyone complaining. The location is super close in terms of walking distance for the city and attractions but the best part of staying here was the desk help. She gave us advice on where to visit, gave a little room tour with instructions on how to use the amenities and even called us to let us know we could leave our bags at front when waiting to check in / able to leave them there while walking around after check out but waiting for our boat. There's access to a rooftop with a grill and seats that has a perfect view of the city and ocean and I would definitely come back just because of how amazing service was. :)

I don't have pictures inside, but for the price, location and room, really cleaned, neat, friendly service, you will satisfied. Close to everything, the rooftop is incredible for your meal, enjoy the view and wind. Good mattress, shoo, bedsheets and towels. You have all amenities you need in the bathroom, plus frigobar, microwave and coffee machine. Simple but nice!

I love this place so much ! The staff , Michael , is the nicest and most helpful person you will Ever meet . They called me to make sure when my boat was arriving and they had my room ready with an upgrade and also let me keep the room later until it was time to go . Room was awesome all the amenities you could ever ask for with a half kitchen, jacuzzi tub, double shower , roof top bbq and etc. This place is a hidden jewel inside an oasis paradise! Will always stay here

Had a lovely Mid-December 2020 stay. We were the only guest in the house and were upgraded to the Loft halfway through our stay. Michael at the front desk was very professional and friendly. Some people complain about the office closing at 4pm, but that wasn't an issue for us. Location is convenient to the waterfront and all that entails. The Von's grocery store and all dining is a very short walk away as well. We were originally in the Captain's Quarters. A little tight, but the bed was comfy, it felt clean and the jacuzzi right in the room is a bonus. The loft has much more space, including a nice sized kitchen area, faux fireplace, and a huge bathroom complete with separate shower & jacuzzi tub. The rooftop outdoor areas were aplenty, providing spectacular views of the main water area. The heating system worked well. No water pressure or toilet flushing issues either. This is NOT an ultra-modern place. Doesn't need to be. It has character with modern conviences, not unlike the island itself. Clean with sound COVID policies in place, such as housekeeping only coming if asked. This hotel was perfect for our romantic stay in Catalina. Sorry no pics of the Loft. I wa completely in bliss land by then.

Last year, Vista and Snug were under the same ownership, which is no longer the case. Snug now has closer affiliation with Hotel Aurora a bit up the hill. Snug is a cozy and charming 6-room inn. There is staff on duty during the day; welcome in-room wine and snacks are provided as well as daily continental breakfast. There is no staff on the premises at night, although someone is on-call. My stay was lovely and somewhat surreal. I visited during the February rains which caused the cancellation of all Catalina Express boats on 2 days during my Avalon visit. This forced guests here for the long Valentines/Presidents Day weekend to leave early or relocate. I ended up being the sole guest for my 2-night visit! And with minimal visitors on the island, evenings were also pretty quiet, despite being right above the main drag (Crescent). Snug does provide earplugs and eye masks if needed. I moved up my arrival date due to the weather and Snug was able to accommodate me, even offering the same room, which was the Santa Catalina room, the inn's "crown jewel" situated on the corner with two large bay windows, one facing Avalon Bay with Casino, Bay and pier views, the other with a built-in window seat facing Sumner and the hills above. All rooms have a fireplace and deep soaking jetted tub. The rooms are not particularly large but are full of charm, coziness and warmth. No robes or slippers, but there were 2 clock/music/alarm machines. Complimentary reusable water bottles are provided; there's a water/ice machine in the hall. The welcome snacks offered were olives, pretzels and high-end nuts (i.e., no peanuts). The continental breakfast was quite ample and includes a small loaf of warm banana bread, yogurt, fresh berries, granola, milk, juice and coffee or tea. You fill out an order slip as to what you want exactly and what time you want it delivered. There are 6 delivery times for the 6 rooms, which of course was not an issue for my stay. There is a common room with a sofa, fireplace and machine for coffee and tea. There is a closet for luggage storage, a public restroom and umbrellas. The front door is open 8-5, key access is needed in the off-hours. Shout-outs to the great staff I met--Jackie, Destiny and especially Johnny at the front desk and housekeeper/breakfast preparer Alicia. Overall a fabulous stay. I usually split my time on the island between Mt Ada and a property "downtown". Snug Harbor has moved to the top of my downtown list!

Had numerous stays at the Inn at Mt Ada and Pavillion over the last decades, but have found that the location of The Pavillion was it's big plus. The main issue over the last twenty years, is the Catalina Island Company taking the Avalon charm out and replacing it int a cash cow. Late in 2024, The Pavillion shut down for an overhaul, didn't reopen until April 1st of 2026. We were anxious to check out the improvements, but we're sadly disappointed. They DID upgrade the rooms to a certain extent, but increased the room charge to $100.00 + per night. They previously had a great breakfast included, along with an evening wine hour. The "breakfast" is now rolls, coffee, juice and cereal. The evening wine is restricted to one glass, closely monitored. They have a wine machine if u choose to pay an additional charge. From the increase in rates to the minimal extras, the hotel has definitely gone down hill. It's a small town with limited hotels in good locations, so you have to be content for getting price gouged for less services or go to the inner part of town and loose the waterfront charm. By the way, their reconstruction crew did a terrible job. The front door and sliders didn't work well. The sliders didn't lock, out of alignment and the entry door needed two hands to try forcing entry. Look forward to their response.

All boats to and from Catalina Island were cancelled on 2 days of my visit, forcing other guests to change their travel plans. I ended up being the sole guest for all 3 nights of my stay here! With some whispers of Mt Ada being haunted (but not as many as Banning House Lodge in Two Harbors), I was a bit concerned, but fortunately had no paranormal experiences. To briefly review Mt Ada's history, it was once the Catalina home of William Wrigley Jr. and family, of chewing gum and Chicago Cubs fame. He was instrumental in putting Catalina "on the map", and his descendants still own the Catalina Island Company, which runs Mt Ada, Hotel Atwater, Pavilion Hotel and Banning House Lodge, as well as other businesses. All my stays at Mt Ada have been with the Company, although it was previously run as a private B&B. Mt Ada still runs as a B&B, as opposed to a hotel. It's a pricey stay but has many many perks that justify the expense. These include transportation to and from the boat or helicopter terminals, use of a golf cart throughout your stay, daily made-to-order breakfast and lunch, pre-breakfast continental breakfast, afternoon wine/cheese/charcuterie, 24-hour butler's pantry with snacks like gelato, chips, cookies and popcorn plus alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, discounts on Island Company tours and activities. Currently there are about 4 main people interacting with guests at Mt Ada, plus "behind the scenes" kitchen and housekeeping staff. My past reviews have mentioned a stay here is more like a visit to a home, as opposed to a hotel. There will be times when you may not see any staff (especially at night). But Pierre, Liz, Tim and Yoli (Yollie?) work their hardest to accommodate guest needs--they are the chauffeurs, front desk, waiters, luggage handlers, concierges, etc. I applaud them all. One of Mt Ada's pluses is its location on the hill (Mt Ada) above Avalon Bay, even above the main Bay viewpoint that all the rental golfcarts stop at (traffic jams are common here). It's quite peaceful, although in busy times the noise from "downtown" does carry uphill. Mt Ada has 6 rooms. The room I booked was the Grand Suite, Mr. Wrigley's former bedroom. It's the largest room, with a separate living and bedroom, a bathroom with a separate shower and tub, and a large terrace above the first floor terrace. It has a fireplace, as do 3 other rooms, and a raised bed that requires stairs to access, as does one other room. The living room has an antique "radio" that is seen in photos with Mr. Wrigley. There are radio stations hand-written on it; I was appalled to see "graffiti" defacing this historic relic. The terrace is fabulous, but alas the weather prohibited much use; I feared the high winds would blow the cushions on the chaise lounges over the railing. Even the dining tables on the first floor terrace were stored; in more temperate weather it's the loveliest place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The breakfast and lunch menus have some new items and some old faves. Once again a fabulous and peaceful stay. Thanks again to all the staff. With the Pavilion Hotel reopening soon, Mt Ada may be the next property to undergo renovations. I hope it does not lose its charm or homey character.

We wanted the same experience and the same room. We got a Studio Suite room in the back of the hotel in the upper private area. The last time we stayed here, our room seemed bigger, and I was a bit disappointed about how small the room seemed compared to last time, but we ended up really enjoying our stay. The room was clean, although housekeeping did not clean our room the first time we asked the front desk. Before our third and final night, we went up to the front desk and told them we were extremely upset our room was not clean the day before when we had asked them to clean it so they promptly came up and cleaned our room. The linens were clean, white, and fresh and the robe was nice though short. The towels were comfy and clean and they gave us more towels when our room wasn't clean the second night we stayed after we asked them. The outside the patio was amazing. We had a gorgeous view of the city behind us and the ocean in front of us. We loved to sit outside in the comfy chairs and just soak up the view and drink coffee/tea that was provided for us with a Kuerig machine. We had plenty of free water bottles and ice and kept asking for more and more because we drink like fish and they gave it to us all for free. The room had a couch and a little table, but the table was too short for my husband to use his laptop. He said he would have liked a bigger table, but we made do with what we had. Also, there were no nightstands in the room and the closet space was very, very small, just a small wooden box in the room with only enough space to hang our jackets. There were no real drawers to place our clothes in so we left them in the luggage the entire time. The bathroom was made of beautiful Italian marble with a large bathtub that we filled to the top with warm water for our nightly bath soaks. The only thing we didn't like about the bathroom was that the toilet was right next to the wall, giving us little room to sit and do our business and the sink had no area around it to place our bathroom essentials except for a really, really small glass area above the sink to place our toothbrushes. We took really long naps while we were there with the air conditioner on full blast and really loved our bed. It was sooooo comfortable. Also, our room had a refrigerator where we placed food we bought from the market and left over food from the restaurant. We are definitely coming back again to the Bellanca hotel for a simlar Studio Suite room, hopefully next time, a bigger one light last time, but even though there were things we didn't like about this room, we may request the same room again because the view outside looking towards the ocean was amazing. Oh, and the hotel gave us two free drink vouchers worth $15 each for mixed drinks at the Naughty Fox which we used and enjoyed.

I loved this hotel so much! The staff were super friendly and helpful. It's super close to…read moreeverything and has a beautiful balcony for a beach view! I also loved that they have free bikes for a little cruise around the town :)
