Kothu parotta with lamb (roti cut up pieces and cooked with egg, veggie, seasoning) - so good!
Jennifer H.

Newish restaurant in Westeood, with colorful decor. Not a lot of Sri Lankan restaurants, so I was excited to try it (also on InKind if you want a discount). For 2 of us, we ordered (had leftovers): - Kothu parotta with lamb (roti cut up pieces and cooked with egg, veggie, seasoning) - so good! Hard to go wrong with this, we added beef. - Dungenes crab with coconut curry $75 - the sauce on this was soooo good. I used it with the kothu parotta as well. They give you plastic bib and gloves, as well as the crab cracking/picking tool. Crab tasted fresh and was well cooked. Service was friendly, I saw they were also doing a brisk business for take out. Not too many people on a Sunday evening. Street parking. Probably better to come with a big group as they have a big menu, but I Would come back to try other dishes on the menu!

Lamprise with shrimp

I finally made it to Seaburry and was not disappointed! The food was INCREDIBLE. The flavors were so complex and absolutely delicious. We ordered: Lankan Red Curry with lamb Lamprise with shrimp We asked for the food to be prepared with a low level of spice and it was perfect. Just the right amount of heat. (I usually order my food with a medium level of spice, but I had a feeling this place would have quite the kick.) The lamb was so tender and the curry flavor was so good. The roti was still hot and when dipped in the sauce, it was heaven. The Lamprise had shrimp that was grilled, tender and beautifully spiced. It came with a fish croquette, cashew curry (wow), caramelized onion, grilled eggplant, a seasoned hard boiled egg and the most delicious rice. I cannot wait to come back and try more dishes. Seaburry is a wonderful addition to Westwood restaurants!

It was a very nice experience to dine here with my friend for our first time. The staff was very friendly and explained the dishes very well. My friend ordered the mixed seafood play and I ordered the lamb chops, we shared a fried rice with chicken. Everything was tasty and cooked well. They were so nice and offered us a complimentary dessert which was our creme brulee, yummy treat! I will definitely be back.

Great flavors, presentation, and prices! I'm glad that we stopped at Seaburry restaurant. First off, I love the Sri Lankan decor and flare. The restaurant strikes a nice balance of elegance and hominess. But let's be real. Most of us will come here for the food. And the food delivers. Must get dishes? The paratha and lamprais. Both were delicious, authentic, and packed with various bold and fresh flavors. And then to top it all off, everything was well priced! None of the dishes will break the bank. This was my first time trying Sri Lankan food. I didn't know what I was missing. The Westside needed a delicious Sri Lankan spot!

This wonderful Sri Lankan restaurant was recommended by a foodie friend. If you love heat, this is your place! Our waiter was very helpful taking us through the menu and providing tips on spice level. (Even requesting "medium spice" left our mouths tingling). For those with dietary restrictions, he recommended calling ahead, as many of the sauces are already prepared--and hot! We ordered a couple of the specialties with shrimp (other proteins are available). With each came a platter of "sides" including mango chutney (the most popular), a coconut sambal, curried cashews, marinated beets and eggplant. For a cool down, we got an ice cream dessert but there are also several lassis that can put out five-alarm "fires.". The restaurant itself is cozy, colorful and comfortable--a quiet haven off busy Westwood Boulevard

Pumpkin soup du jour

The ambience and decor are lovely here. The menu is seafood-forward so not too many options for me, a vegetarian. But the pumpkin soup (soup du jour) was tasty! We parked at the Hammer Museum which has a flat all day rate that is reasonable and then had a 10 minute walk to the restaurant.

This place transported me back to the south of Sri Lanka -- the vibe, the food and the hospitality. I had the lamprais which was authentically Sri Lankan and mint twist which was super fresh. I can't wait to see what they add to the bar menu.

I came here with my friend (he is Sri Lankan) to try Sri Lankan food for the first time. It was phenomenal. Interior is very beautiful and chic, looks brand new and well designed. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees and shared and everything was fantastic. The dishes were so flavorful and fresh, calamari was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Met the owner and he gave us a free Sri Lankan ginger beer. Very reasonably priced and apparently also have a lunch buffet on weekends for around 20 bucks, which is a steal for LA. I will definitely be back.

SeaBurry Sri Lankan Restaurant & Cuisine - The Ultimate Sri Lankan Dining Experience in LA! If you're looking for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in Los Angeles, look no further than SeaBurry Sri Lankan Restaurant & Cuisine! This place is a culinary masterpiece, offering not just incredible food but also an unmatched dining experience filled with warm hospitality, rich flavors, and genuine Sri Lankan culture. Outstanding Hospitality - A True Sri Lankan Welcome! The wait staff was beyond exceptional--friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about Sri Lankan cuisine. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like honored guests, offering recommendations, ensuring our comfort, and delivering service that was nothing short of five-star. But what truly blew us away was the owner himself. A young, humble, and incredibly down-to-earth man, he personally checked on our table, ensured we were enjoying our meal, and even brought out an extra plate of freshly made Roti and Chicken Curry--on the house! At first, we thought he was a waiter because of how hands-on and involved he was in the service. But when he handed us his business card, we were absolutely shocked to learn he was the Founder and CEO of the restaurant! His humility, kindness, and passion for sharing Sri Lankan culture made the experience unforgettable. The Food - A Flavor Explosion! Every single dish was bursting with flavor, authenticity, and the perfect blend of Sri Lankan spices. Here are the absolute must-tries: Lamprais (A MUST-TRY!) - This banana-leaf-wrapped delicacy was the star of the night. The rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked, the spiced meat curry was rich and flavorful, and the eggplant moju and sambols added the perfect balance. An absolute Sri Lankan classic that you HAVE to try! Hoppers (Appam) - These crispy-edged, soft-centered pancakes were light and airy, and paired beautifully with the restaurant's incredible sambols and curries. Sri Lankan Rice & Curry - A classic that truly showcased the depth of Sri Lankan flavors. The chicken curry was perfectly spiced, the dhal was creamy and comforting, and the devilled prawns packed the perfect amount of heat! Kottu Roti - The best Kottu Roti in LA, hands down! Freshly chopped roti stir-fried with eggs, vegetables, and tender meat, all infused with aromatic Sri Lankan spices--this dish was beyond amazing! Crab Curry & Grilled Fish - The seafood here is next level. The crab curry was rich, spicy, and cooked to absolute perfection, while the grilled fish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. Wattalappam - This traditional Sri Lankan coconut and jaggery pudding--silky smooth, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness! A Thoughtful Touch - Sri Lankan Souvenirs! To top it all off, at the end of our meal, we were gifted beautiful Sri Lankan souvenirs as a token of appreciation! It was such a thoughtful and heartwarming gesture, making us feel truly connected to Sri Lankan culture. Final Verdict: The Best Sri Lankan Restaurant in Los Angeles! SeaBurry isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience. The combination of authentic Sri Lankan flavors, world-class service, and genuine hospitality makes it the absolute best Sri Lankan restaurant in LA. Whether you're Sri Lankan, a foodie, or someone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is THE place to be! Must-Try Dishes: Lamprais, Hoppers, Kottu Roti, Crab Curry, Devilled Prawns, Wattalappam Location: Hollywood, Los Angeles Rating: (More if I could give it!) If you haven't been to SeaBurry yet, you're seriously missing out! I'll definitely be back, and I'm bringing even more friends next time!

I live in the area, and I am so glad that Seaburry has arrived! I love Indian food, and I thought Sri Lankan food would be similar. In fact, it has its own unique and Absolutely Delicious flavor! The service is excellent and they have converted the space into a beautiful indoor/outdoor dining experience. It's right near the Ranch grocery store if you're looking for it. I am a super taster and this place gets my top vote! If you want , you can eat with your hands (the traditional way), and they will bring you hot water with lemon to clean your hands. Definitely worth swinging through. ... and they brought me a decadent birthday cake.

Lamprais

Woooow. Amazing authentic flavors, this place is a real gem. Highly recommend the Lamprais, which is a great way to sample a lot of the different flavors on a banana leaf. The fresh spices they use really add a depth/complexity that elevates all the dishes. Drink menu was nonalcoholic but the mocktails were refreshing and not too sweet. Desserts were amazing. Highly, highly recommend this place for Sri Lankan cuisine. 10/10 can't wait to come back, this might actually be one of the best restaurants I've tried in LA.

We loved everything about this restaurant! The colorful chairs, walls and ceiling were so cheerful and set a nice tone as we entered. The staff was so pleasant and nice. Our waiter was from Sri Lanka and told us a lot about his country with such enthusiasm that we might have to take a trip there. All four of us loved every bite of our meal!!! So flavorful and tasty, and the presentations were beautiful. The non alcoholic drinks were very refreshing and went beautifully with the food. We honestly want to go back!
