Pacific Catch is a total gem in Santa Monica that I honestly feel is underloved. We have been here a couple times now, and every single visit delivers high quality food, great service, and a solid dining experience. It might not be the hippest spot in town, but it does not need to be. It is exceptionally clean, consistent, and always hits the spot. For a seafood restaurant in Santa Monica, the pricing is remarkably reasonable for the quality you get. My family of four went last night for dinner and everything was fantastic. My wife got the sea bass, which was very fresh and cooked perfectly, and I had the salmon sandwich, which was excellent. Both of our kids loved their kids meals too. It is hard to find reliable seafood spots that are family friendly without breaking the bank, but Pacific Catch nails it every time. I wanted to give them a well deserved shout out. Pacific Catch is a solid spot by the beach with a fun, chill vibe and a great happy (aloha) hour (and a bonus on Mai tais if you wear an Hawaiian shirt on Fridays). The pupu platter comes with a bunch of food that makes for a great share. Nicely battered shrimp. Poke guard is nice. And the ribs have a good wet sauce that is just about fall off the bone. A friend and I went to PC on a Thursday night for happy hour after shopping on the Promenade. Let me just say that Samantha the bartender/host is exactly the person you want greeting you for a chill happy hour. She is super friendly, accommodating, patient.. all of the things. She Recommended drinks and made sure to come correct on the alcohol level. I generally believe that restaurants and bars have secretly stopped serving actual alcohol in their drinks but not at PC. The restaurant was pretty quiet when we arrived but really picked up once we were leaving about 7. My only complaint and thus the loss of a star is that PC does serve smaller portions for Happy Hour. This really is not the point of happy hour. We come for a deal, and paying less for Waaay less is not that. read more

First time I honored my free birthday bowl online. It was easy! I filled out the online order, got a text message to say it was ready to be picked up, picked up my order of a West Coast Salmon bowl at a side entrance to the restaurant. I had high hopes but everything was just kind of sub-par food. While it all looked nice, there was just not a lot of flavor. I've had poke fish straight from the sea with no sauce that had more taste. Also, oddly enough the Sriracha sauce even lacked any flavor, I had to ask my bf to try it because I thought maybe I was being picky, and he agreed. The best bite I had was of his "wagyu" burger. Service was okay, but both of our cocktails came out after our food which showed they forgot about them. The drinks weren't too memorable. The food itself was all fresh and tasted good. I got the fish tacos with a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were a bit sweet, but to my liking. The avocado and tuna appetizer was definitely a shareable portion and a great deal. I run past this spot every Monday with my Midnight Runners group, and the semi-outdoor patio has always caught my eye. I've been meaning to try it out, so I was excited when my coworkers suggested it as a happy hour spot after an early day off from work recently. It lived up to the vibe. Drinks were solid--my margarita hit the spot and leaned nicely tropical. Happy hour prices are good, but fair warning: some of the portions are on the smaller side (like the chips and salsa, which is more like pico de gallo.) Still, the atmosphere alone makes it worth it. It's got a super fun, laid-back vibe which makes it a great place to unwind. And if you wait a bit after Aloha Hour you can take a little walk to watch the sun set over the ocean. Came here with the fam after family photos and it was one of the few places still open around 9 on a weeknight AND the allowed our little fur baby. We had the whole patio to ourselves. It had been raining so it was sorta chilly and wet outside but the patio is covered and it had a fireplace as well as heaters so it worked out. I even got so hot at some point I had to take off my jacket. They have a doggie menu and they bring out a bowl of water just for your fur baby. She even got some pets. Service was great. Even though we were like the only ones left in the restaurant, I never felt rushed or like some places that rudely try to push you out. Our waitress was super friendly and nice. Food came out relatively quick. The appetizers were better than the main course but the dessert was good too. Ceviche was a winner and so good we didn't take a pic cause we were hungry. The lobster roll was good too. The miso cod was ok but the rice was dry and the green beans weren't great. The salmon with chimichurri sauce was overcooked and the kimchi fried rice which I didn't have but my son did said it lacked flavor. The guacamole and chips were great--the guacamole was super tasty and refreshing. The Salmon Firecracker Roll was also very good, but a bit too salty for my taste. The Mixed Catch was surprisingly impressive. I usually don't like seafood in batter, but the batter here was really good. The calamari was juicy, fresh, and had a nice breading. The coconut shrimp were also good, though I didn't love the breading. The Alaskan cod was really juicy but needed a bit more seasoning. Lovely restaurant! Brought 2 coworkers here for dinner and it was great. We sat outside which really seems more like inside. The top is uncovered, but there were heaters and glass sort of blocking us in. I really liked the atmosphere! First, our service was absolutely wonderful! Some of our party could be a bit much and he was great when there was lots of talking. The food was really good as well! I was debating between a couple of things and went with the platter that was fish, coconut shrimp, and calamari. Lots of food and big shrimp! One of our party had the lobster and they loved it. Went to watch the FIFA final game and sat by the bar. We noticed the staff was limited for the number of patrons in the restaurant. Sitting at the bar was not the best option if we were on a rush. Gladly we were not and were very understanding with the great bar tender. She was very stressed out since she mentioned they were not aware of the local watch party held at the Promenade. Drinks took a long time to get served after a few reminders to the staff. Our entries were served at different times but we managed to make it work by sharing our meals. Food was great! It's easy to find, laid-back, and makes for a perfect spot to unwind after a long day - or week, like I did. To drink, I ordered the "Feel No Pain" that was basically a virgin pina colada (yum) and super refreshing, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted (not too sweet!). I also got the Spicy Tuna Roll and, thinking I wasn't quite full, I made what turned out to be a mistake ordering the Crispy Baja Cod Taco - not because it wasn't delicious (it absolutely was) - but because I underestimated the portion! Even during happy hour, the serving sizes are no joke! It wasn't long before I was STUFFED! Really my only complaint about Pacific Catch during my happy hour visit in late July was the service. Our server was Dylan P. and while he wasn't terrible, he was very slow and inattentive, especially because happy hour only goes until a certain time and I needed our server to actually check in on us to see if we wanted to order anything else (which I did...!). Even so, the fresh seafood, fun atmosphere, and excellent happy hour made up for the lackluster service. All in all, Pacific Catch is a great place to grab fresh seafood and drinks in Santa Monica. I was just a little disappointed in the food. We came during the aloha hour and I got the salmon chowder and the taco platter. Idk if they just waited to run the food a bit bc of my friends coconut shrimp or what but it wasn't hot, wasn't cold either but like even the tacos seemed a little soggy or maybe the tortilla wasn't thoroughly cooked bc it just kinda fell apart. To the couples and adults who are looking for a night out on a date or just to hang out quietly for dinner - THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! I'm all for having children at a restaurant as long as they can behave and sit at the table. It doesn't even have to be quiet most of the time, kids make noise, I get it. But this place was like the Olive Garden of seafood with screaming babies and children wandering through the aisles with entitled parents walking behind them, "pretending" to do something about it. It was extremely disruptive, and as a business you obviously can't kick anyone out, but it would've been very thoughtful if the manager or someone came around and acknowledged to the disruptive noise. Not sure if this is a regular thing at this restaurant but it did not make a good first impression. Unfortunately the food was nothing to boast about either. The calamari that was supposed to be "really good" (according to our server) was mediocre. And the lobster roll?! Umm what lobster?! The bread to lobster ratio was way off. The small pieces of lobster was bland, flavorless and I had to ask for salt. I ended up leaving half the roll and just ate the lobster bits. Fries were not crispy and also bland.
