Absolutely delicious. The best fish and chips I've ever had. All the flavors in the food were very balanced and you could tell that the ingredients they used were fresh. The service was also great and the ambiance of the restaurant is very nice with a spacious, yet cozy feel. The prices are also not bad. I would definitely recommend it and will be coming back!

What a fun hangout/happy hour place! It reminds me kind of Tommy Bahama vibes! Staff were very friendly here! Service was excellent! We got here for happy hour and prices were great. We got the shrimp ceviche and fries. Pretty good for happy hour pricing. They had other options too but we weren't starving. Beer was reasonable price and good per husband. I got the POD nonalcoholic juice drink which was refreshing! Ambiance is casual. Plenty of seating!

First time I honored my free birthday bowl online. It was easy! I filled out the online order, got a text message to say it was ready to be picked up, picked up my order of a West Coast Salmon bowl at a side entrance to the restaurant. A gentleman saw me, asked me if I was here to pick up my order, asked for my name and handed me my bowl in a bag. The process was great! The salmon was a tad dry and overcooked. I'll have to try something else next time. I appreciate their free birthday bowl, but hope they can not overcook the salmon.

I had high hopes but everything was just kind of sub-par food. While it all looked nice, there was just not a lot of flavor. I've had poke fish straight from the sea with no sauce that had more taste. Also, oddly enough the Sriracha sauce even lacked any flavor, I had to ask my bf to try it because I thought maybe I was being picky, and he agreed. The best bite I had was of his "wagyu" burger. Burger does not come with fries, so had to get that separate. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, Brussels were charred nicely but again very little flavor. Staff was okay. Mostly this felt like an Applebees trying to be Hawaiian in California. I would not come back.

Pacific Catch management and team are truly amazing. Today they assisted me with a really minor act for some but meant the world to me. Fernando who was so quick to fulfill my request, proffesional and honestly provided the best customer service, thank you from the bottom of my heart and I appreciate it. I will be sending friends and family to this location as no doubt they will truly enjoy it especially if they are greeted and helped by Fernando. Thank you again

Pacific catch is a chain restaurant, and I was drawn in by their happy hour offered on weekdays until 6pm. Service was okay, but both of our cocktails came out after our food which showed they forgot about them. The drinks weren't too memorable. The food itself was all fresh and tasted good. I got the fish tacos with a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were a bit sweet, but to my liking. The avocado and tuna appetizer was definitely a shareable portion and a great deal. I would definitely come back for a reliable and more affordable option in Santa Monica. This restaurant is also on the inKind app, so I was able to refer my friend and use my credit to get $25 off our meal, and in return received another $25 which we spent on ice cream after dinner :) Referral link: https://app.inkind.com/refer/EGPDI2JT

I run past this spot every Monday with my Midnight Runners group, and the semi-outdoor patio has always caught my eye. I've been meaning to try it out, so I was excited when my coworkers suggested it as a happy hour spot after an early day off from work recently. It lived up to the vibe. Drinks were solid--my margarita hit the spot and leaned nicely tropical. Happy hour prices are good, but fair warning: some of the portions are on the smaller side (like the chips and salsa, which is more like pico de gallo.) Still, the atmosphere alone makes it worth it. It's got a super fun, laid-back vibe which makes it a great place to unwind. And if you wait a bit after Aloha Hour you can take a little walk to watch the sun set over the ocean. I'll definitely be back, if only for that patio.

The food and fish was great, I liked the pupu platter as it gave a variety of options to try. We came and it was not too busy but the service wasn't great it seemed like there was not much order as we were helped by a new person every time. Overall was good though.

Came here with the fam after family photos and it was one of the few places still open around 9 on a weeknight AND the allowed our little fur baby. We had the whole patio to ourselves. It had been raining so it was sorta chilly and wet outside but the patio is covered and it had a fireplace as well as heaters so it worked out. I even got so hot at some point I had to take off my jacket. They have a doggie menu and they bring out a bowl of water just for your fur baby. She even got some pets. Service was great. Even though we were like the only ones left in the restaurant, I never felt rushed or like some places that rudely try to push you out. Our waitress was super friendly and nice. Food came out relatively quick. The appetizers were better than the main course but the dessert was good too. Ceviche was a winner and so good we didn't take a pic cause we were hungry. The lobster roll was good too. The miso cod was ok but the rice was dry and the green beans weren't great. The salmon with chimichurri sauce was overcooked and the kimchi fried rice which I didn't have but my son did said it lacked flavor. The chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato was delish but didn't really lava. If we lived closer, it would be a nice place to come for drinks, apps and maybe dessert.

Fresh and high-quality food with excellent service! We ordered the guacamole with chips and the Salmon Firecracker Roll, and we also got the Mixed Catch (but I forgot to take a picture). The guacamole and chips were great--the guacamole was super tasty and refreshing. The Salmon Firecracker Roll was also very good, but a bit too salty for my taste. The Mixed Catch was surprisingly impressive. I usually don't like seafood in batter, but the batter here was really good. The calamari was juicy, fresh, and had a nice breading. The coconut shrimp were also good, though I didn't love the breading. The Alaskan cod was really juicy but needed a bit more seasoning. The sauces that came with the dish were amazing, and the chili French fries were delicious. The service was excellent, and they even have a dog menu, which is awesome. The ambiance is cozy and nice, although it can feel a little empty. Solid place!

Lovely restaurant! Brought 2 coworkers here for dinner and it was great. We sat outside which really seems more like inside. The top is uncovered, but there were heaters and glass sort of blocking us in. I really liked the atmosphere! First, our service was absolutely wonderful! Some of our party could be a bit much and he was great when there was lots of talking. The food was really good as well! I was debating between a couple of things and went with the platter that was fish, coconut shrimp, and calamari. Lots of food and big shrimp! One of our party had the lobster and they loved it. If I lived here I would be coming often as the prices were incredibly reasonable as well. Overall a really great time and great food. Try this place if you. haven't, they even have happy hour deals!

Delicious tuna poke from Pacific Catch - July 2025
    Krista M.

Pacific Catch offers a phenomenal happy hour just steps from the beach which is exactly why I dined here in late July with a couple of friends. It's easy to find, laid-back, and makes for a perfect spot to unwind after a long day - or week, like I did. The seafood is undeniably fresh, so if you're craving fish, poke, or tacos in Santa Monica, I would recommend Pacific Catch! On my visit I started with the Guaca-Poke which was exactly what it sounds like - guacamole with fresh tuna poke. The tuna was so fresh and so flavorful and oooh the creamy guac was great, too! To drink, I ordered the "Feel No Pain" that was basically a virgin pina colada (yum) and super refreshing, balanced, and thoughtfully crafted (not too sweet!). I also got the Spicy Tuna Roll and, thinking I wasn't quite full, I made what turned out to be a mistake ordering the Crispy Baja Cod Taco - not because it wasn't delicious (it absolutely was) - but because I underestimated the portion! Even during happy hour, the serving sizes are no joke! It wasn't long before I was STUFFED! Really my only complaint about Pacific Catch during my happy hour visit in late July was the service. Our server was Dylan P. and while he wasn't terrible, he was very slow and inattentive, especially because happy hour only goes until a certain time and I needed our server to actually check in on us to see if we wanted to order anything else (which I did...!). Even so, the fresh seafood, fun atmosphere, and excellent happy hour made up for the lackluster service. All in all, Pacific Catch is a great place to grab fresh seafood and drinks in Santa Monica. Just come hungry, pace yourself, and take advantage of their happy hour!!! I'll definitely be back - I hope sooner rather than later!

From the moment we sat down Leanne J. was extremely accommodating and friendly. She was helpful with suggestions and explanations. The food is always incredibly tasteful and presented well. The interior of the restaurant is full of hard woods and warm in color. Enjoy it we do!! Happy 7th Anniversary my love. ‍

The work was tedious, the people often annoying, but the learning real. And I would duck out to grab a burrito at TPF at lunch because the walk there and back was almost meditative. TPF speaks to an earlier version of Santa Monica, before Silicon Beach happened. When Dogtown was still in transition, the commercial and industrial spaces still plentiful, and the creativity flowed. I usually get a chicken burrito. It's great. The space hasn't changed. And is never crowded. I had ingested several bites of it, (with hot sauce), but I couldn't take another bite. The meat was chemically contaminated & I got sick not long after for the whole night. It was important for me to tell the person that runs the stand. I had the best of intentions to help this business and wanted nothing in return. I walked up to the stand & asked the woman who takes the cash, (with the sharp eyebrows), if I could please speak to the person in charge, (or owner). At first she ignored me & then said, "I don't understand - no speak English." I asked who speaks English and she sent me to the back of the line by the cooks. I stood there for another 10 minutes and no one wanted to talk to me or answer my question. I told them that there was a big problem with their meat the night before & had brought back the entire meal, so they could try the meat. No one did anything except talk to each other in Spanish, (which I understood). The cook graciously offered me a replacement meal & tried to problem solve. The tall man, who spoke English, (as shown next to cashier Karen in the photo), was going to give me a replacement meal. I waited 15-20 minutes. I asked for the chicken quesadilla, and the vitriol that came out of cashier Karen, who said she didn't speak English was unbelievable. She refused to give me any food and said I had to pay $6 for the replacement taco. I tried to tell her that it was a replacement and she kept yelling aggressively at me and said, "no - you pay $6. You're not getting anything " and that I, "never bought any taco." She became angry and verbally abusive because I was getting a replacement meal, as a solution to my getting chemically poisoned. She was a bully and aggressively yelling at me to humiliate me in front of the other customers & personnel. By this time she had no problem speaking English. (A group of young ladies started talking to me, felt bad that I was the focus of cashier Karen's rudeness. They complimented me & wished me a good night.) The guy next to cashier Karen handed me the bag with the quesadilla. I asked cashier Karen for her name and she ignored me. Then I asked the guy next to her what her name was and he put his hands together like duck lips and rudely opened and closed his hand at me, (meaning that I'm talking to much) This was extremely inappropriate & as soon as I left, I threw the food out, because I didn't trust or hold it past any of them to have put something nasty in my food. By the way, there was never a possibility that I would be refunded. By this time I was so upset, I was sorry that I had generously tipped them the night before. Even cashier Karen's response to the tip had been of surprise; but then I remembered she had not even acknowledged it or said thank you, after receiving it. What this staff does not, is that I owned and operated a successful fine dining restaurant & wedding venue for 17 years. I have done consulting for small restaurant businesses, pro bono, in order for the businesses to financially thrive. I know how food is cooked, how it should be stored, when the oil needs to be changed, marketing, accounting, et al., as well as the health dept's requirements, in order to keep the public healthy and well. What I believe happened to the meat and reason I took my food back to the taco stand; is because they had been out of chicken. Since there was a meat shortage, more carne asada needed to be barbecued quickly. An abundance of lighter fluid was used to quicken the process & it possibly got on the grill, where the meat is placed; and the cooking process started well before the coals were ready. It shouldn't matter whether you go to a restaurant, food truck or taco stand, customers should be treated with respect, kindness & consideration - and it's called customer service. A customer shouldn't be lied to, yelled at, insulted and humiliated by any employee of the business. It should be run in a transparent and professional manner. I'm 64 yrs young & have never written one negative comment or review about any restaurant. Nor have I ever been treated with such disrespect, malice and ill intent. I felt it important to tell my story because nobody should experience what I did; in eating compromised food and then being made to feel like I did something bad. This is what bullies do and I've never had a problem in clarifying right from wrong, as well as responsibility and accountability. I didn't have a choice and had to give a star.

I remember coming here and genuinely enjoying the food, especially their filet mignon tacos. Those tacos were fire--full of flavor and one of the things that made this spot stand out to me. At some point, the menu changed, and unfortunately, I don't think the food has been the same since. The tacos I had on my most recent visit just didn't have the same flavor or impact that I remember. It's not that everything was terrible, but when you've been somewhere before and remember how good it used to be, the difference is noticeable. What once felt like a place I would happily recommend now feels much more average. Honestly, based on my most recent experience, you might be better off finding a good taco truck if your priority is flavorful tacos. That's a tough thing for me to say because I genuinely enjoyed Blue Plate Taco in the past. The one thing that absolutely hasn't changed is the location. Being right across from the Santa Monica Pier is a huge plus. You can see the beach from your seat, and the atmosphere and setting make it a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy the Santa Monica scenery. If you're looking for a restaurant with a great location and a beachside experience, it definitely has that going for it. For me, though, the food is the deciding factor, and unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to what I remember. I really hope they consider bringing back some of the flavor and creativity that made the menu special in the first place--especially those filet mignon tacos. I'm always happy to give restaurants credit when they deliver, but I also think it's important to be honest when something has changed. I used to recommend Blue Plate Taco, but based on my most recent experience, it's no longer a place I would go out of my way to recommend for the food.
