This one was about 30 minutes one way off the main road and was isolated from much else. There is a cute inn very nearby and a small town with an ice cream shop and a few stores and art galleries. It's charming and if you are staying anywhere nearby, this is a great spot to come and visit during the day, go through the museum and enjoy the grounds. We visited later after it was closed at 5pm so, parking was free, and we were free to roam around on the rocks and enjoy the views. This lighthouse by far had some of the best rock and views. Very pretty and you can get up close and personal with the lighthouse here.

The first thing you need to know is that there are four different counters that you might end up going to: 1) lobster, 2) seafood shack 3) bar and 4) sweets. They all operate like separate businesses. If you want lobster (and you do), start there. Tell them your order. Choose between hard shell and soft shell and what sides you want. If you want a lobster roll, head to the shack. Ready for a drink? Go inside to the bar where they have 12 beers on tap or so. When you order lobster, you will order but pay when you pick up. You will need to leave a deposit for the cracking tools or $2. Use cash for the deposit. It's easier. The best seats are behind the bar, in the shade, and where you can watch the boats come up and drop off lobster. Unfortunately, it's almost always the place where giant families with annoying kids sit so good luck. They have live music in the afternoon. On Friday's and Saturday's they have buck a shuck oysters but it's cash only. Definitely a cool spot on the other side of the bay. You can get there by walking over the footbridge but it's a long walk.

The lobster roll may not be quite as enormous as Red's, but it was absolutely delicious--cold, sweet, succulent lobster piled onto a perfectly toasted bun and served with a side of garlic butter. Instead of the usual coleslaw, you can opt for a refreshing seaweed salad, and the generous serving of fries is another nice touch. Some tables with umbrellas for cover from the sun and in our case that day...brief relief from the rain, until it became sideways torrential rain. Plenty of garbage and recycling containers that are easy to locate and helps keep the place neat and free from debris flying around. It's not an extensive menu, however, the items we have ordered are fresh and flavorful. Item that stood out to us, the blueberry coleslaw. It's very very refreshing. They take electronic/card payments - it looks like it's a cash only type of place, but it's not. We had ordered our food for "here" and then the rain came. We sat at the tables as long as we could until the rain was coming down in sheets. We were soaked, so we ran to our cars...the staff saw what was happening, changed our order as "to go" and the gentleman ran the bagged orders to our cars with napkins and every thing we needed to enjoy our food. Great service! My fish basked was delicious. Love the fries that come with it as well. Plenty of fish, so much so, I had to give some to my husband to finish off. I love the finishing touches...may not seem like much to some, however, they take the time to put a tiny flower on each dinner. My niece and nephew loved it!! The bathrooms are in a separate building and are really nice. I thought they might be a potty, but they are fully plumbed, running water and electricity. I definitely will stop again, if it times right with our trips to the gardens and they are open. Great staff, easy location and great food.
